I started to post this earlier after seeing the reuters version of the story on myway.com but figured somebody would eventually get around to it.

If this indeed what it appears to be, I'm surprised the creators didn't manage to have a GI-Joe-with-Kung-Fu-grip hand holding the weapon as part of the pic.

I wonder if this guy has "swivel arm battle grip," which arguably was the greatest innovation in the action figure market in my lifetime.

the whole thing just looks fake. I'm surprised anyone bought it for any significant length of time.
