(As noted in King Kaufman's column this morning.)
Skip Bayless wrote a column recently for ESPN on the Brady vs. Montana debate.

Now, some people like Bayless, some don't. I'm personally not a fan, but I think it's beside the point here. For better or worse, I think Bayless is pretty typical of many of today's sportswriter/TV personalities.
Anyways, a web site called "Cold Hard Football Facts" has done a critique of Bayless' column. No, that's not the right word. They've done a hatchet job on him. Very entertaining stuff:

If you hate Bayless, you'll love it. If you don't, but are interesting in these sort of quasi-factual sports arguments, it's still a good read. The footballfacts.com article includes the full text of the original ESPN column so you don't need to read both (although if you have time, read the unfiltered Bayless version first).

He was always on the "outs" when he was here in Dallas.

Also, I read the column a few days ago. I remember thinking a lot of it was bullshit. Sure, it may be early to compare Brady to Montana, but the column sucked ass. It basically focused on all of Brady's negatives, discounting anything he did to luck, and only focusing on all of Montana's positives, making it look like Montana never threw a bad pass or had a bad game in his life.
It was crap.

The other three teams that Parcells “turned around” have never won anything. And the ones that came close to winning something boasted Belichick as their defensive coordinator. The Patriots made it to Super Bowl XXXI and lost. One reason for their loss was that Parcells stabbed his team in the back, negotiating for a job with another team in the days before the Super Bowl. It was one of the great scumbag douche moves in football history and hardly an example of “greatness.”
[Parcells also failed to turn around the Jets. Oh sure, the Parcells-Belichick combo led them to the AFC title game in 1998, where they lost, 23-10, to the Broncos. But the following season, Parcells skipped town after leading the Jets to an 8-8 record. Nice turnaround, huh? Parcells skips town after another mediocre season and leaves yet another team in the lurch. But for some reason, frauds -- oops, sorry, incompetent frauds -- like Bayless prefer to cling to the memory of a failed AFC title game appearance. It's embarrassing commentary, Bayless.]
Doh!

yea, we ran him out of town... but he dug his own grave with his 'aikman is gay' shock-'journalism'...

I couldn't remember what he said, but that was it - he said Aikman was gay in print and Bayless was a goner after that.
But he did meet Aikman for drinks and dancing a short time later.

Wow. Bayless is a cheap hack pure and simple but this guy ripping him is just as bad. It's probably Steven A. Smith.
You have to like the fact that he tries to tear apart virtually every argument Bayless makes, except when Bayless points out that Belichick was a failure in Cleveland. The basis of his argument is that Parcells hasn't won a title in almost years, therefore he now sucks and Belichick is better. He never actually addresses the issue of who is the better coach -- Parcells over his entire career or Belichick over the history of his career.
Both are equal tools. I still think it's Steven A. Smith.

Skip Bayless is a moron. On the Jim Rome show last season, he said Anthony Wright (Ravens backup) was better than Brady (as the playoffs started before the Pats won the SB). Seriously, I am NOT kidding. Rome almost burst out laughing. He basically based this on the one game Wright had when he through for like 400 yards against the Seahawks. I saw that article on ESPN and didn't even bother to read it.
Why do guys like this have sports writing jobs, anyways? 75% of the people on this board are more qualified.

In the interest of racial equity I will say I would like them both to go away forever.
