For my newspaper to be delivered every day? I signed up last Thursday, and it has been delivered 3 out of 7 days (4 if you count the one that came at 5 pm after I wrote an email saying I had gotten it 2/5). I was reluctant to sign up for the paper before, but they had a pretty good deal last week. It was a years worth of papers for $2 a week ($104 over the year). I figured that was damn good, since I normally just bought it on Sunday at stores for $1.50, so why not have the other days for the extra $.50.

Well, they didn't deliver my paper at all over the weekend (or anyone else's in the complex). They've been there Friday, Monday, and Wednesday... thats all. I've worked it out, and right now I'm paying $.66 per paper, or $.16 more than if I bought it on the newsstand.

Am I wrong to have sent another email saying that if they can't get it to me by 8 am (when I leave for work, and not unreasonable imo) let alone at all, then I may have to reconsider?

I don't think you're wrong at all.

I just went home at lunch to check and see if it had come (huge mistake when you live on what amounts to college housing). Nope, no papers had come. The thing is, I literally live 35 seconds away from the newpaper office. Its main office (a huge buliding which has to be a distribution center), is 2 streets over. There's no logical reason why it wouldn't show up.

Maybe the $2 a week was only for the 'Every Other Day' package.

Perhaps there was no news.

You are apparently new on your paper person's route. I'd complain everyday. They will start to remember.

The other possibility with missing papers is that sometimes neighbors steal them. It may not be likely, but it is possible.

well, I thought of stolen papers also. I could see that every week or 2, but the chances it was always my paper is slim. At the apartment complex, there are normally 7 or 8 papers out there when they actually deliver it (there were about that many when I signed up), and now these papers are not delivered either, so I don't think its because of the paper person not being used to delivering there, I just think he/she isn't.

So to recap: Either all 7-8 papers are there, or none of them are... and while a bum could walk into our building and grab them (they are put in the unlocked mail room), the chances of that happening 4/7 days is fairly unlikely.

nah, there's some big trial they covering like crazy involving some 12 year old kid (now 15) from my old home town (Chester represent!) who killed his grandparents, burned their house down, blamed it on a black man, and now during the trial blames it on reactions to Zoloft b/c he's bipolar.

That and signing day.

That's an entirely different problem altogether.
