Growing up - I know it's not a cartoon - but I loved Ultraman (and later Spectreman, an Ultraman knock-off). Even though I loved Ultraman, the monsters on that show used to scare the hell out of me. I can remember running to the kitchen and peeking around the corner to continue to watch.

Popeye by a mile (when I was a kid in LA, on Sunday mornings there was a 2 hour Popeye marathon every week, and immediately following that was football...I spent all day Sunday in front of the TV).

also liked the Superfriends, Scooby Doo and Looney Tunes.

Hanna Barbera Tom and Jerry only. They were the best at making those two funny everytime out.

Early Hanna Barbera cartoons, from Ruff and Reddy, to Yogi Bear, and Huckleberry Hound.

Flintstones, Jetsons were very big on network evening lineups.

UNEDITED Warner Bros Looney Tunes. Hard to find now.

Turtles. Thundercats. He Man and the Masters of the Universe.

Those three had my kids NAILED to the floor and not doing anything for years. I mean it was uncanny how they would stop playing, fighting, or anything just to watch those shows.

Smurfs. How can anyone not be numbed by the wacky adventures of little blue people. (Didn't say it was bad or good...just numbed.)

Spiderman episodes on HBO was it? Good stuff.

Space Ghost. (NOT Coast to Coast. Early stuff was good, but now it is tired, very tired)

Speed Racer. (Is there any theme song that evokes memories like Speed Racer?)

Voltron, Super Friends, see Nailed to floor comment above.

The toys for Voltron rocked. My kids just about died the day they all got their lion, and could create Voltron. That day was a fun day in the house.

Peanuts. Garfield. Early episodes were the best for these print classics.

Disney's Duck series, good development of the lesser known fans of the Donald Duck universe. Ducktales, and the fun Darkwing Duck.

Man there have been so many great ones..

Droopy, Tex Avery cartoons, early Woody Woodpecker, Fleischer Superman cartoons... the list goes on.. :)

My 2 year old loves Speed Racer and it's all because of the song. I bought a collectors CD that has a button you push to play the theme, and he'll walk around dancing with the case, pressing the button and singing along.

Speed Racer by a landslide. I anticipated it coming on and hated when it would go off. It was my favorite cartoon until CSPAN came on the air.

There are plenty of cartoons that I enjoyed, but if you're trying to isolate "favorite" or "best," it's a complete slam dunk. Bugs Bunny and the Warner Brothers' gang. Hands down.

Viva Chuck Jones!

Yeah, Rocky and Bullwinkle were awesome--totally wacky and random.

I liked Dungeons and Dragons, too, but I remember being disappointed by its general non-violentness.

Anyone remember Starblazers?

EDIT: I see Condor mentioned Starblazers. That was a good one.

Which one had the "Fiery Phoenix"?

Strarblazers. How did that war turn out anyway
Ultraman. This had me mesmerized
The tripy Spiderman from the sixties or whenever. He traveled to the middle of the earth to fight plant people? WTF?

Looney Tunes was the best, however

Actually, it was "The Real Ghostbusters." There were some good episodes in season two. But I agree with you that the bootleg version of Ghostbusters was much more fun.
