1) To protest creeping Americanism and horrible Fast Food in France, a bunch of French protestors in the Mediterranean town of Sete, France built a home-made catapult and attacked the recently opened McDonalds in that town with about 500 pounds of the region's speciality.. Squid.

2) A 21 year old Australian man, near Perth, Australia, was recently hospitalized in intensive care, when he performed a barroom stunt in which he put on a helmet connected to a beer jug, with a hose that ran between the jug and a pump which was powered by an electric drill. The powerful flow of alcohol actually opened a tear in the man's stomach.

3) A 22 year old would be robber managed to elude Washington State Police in a high speed chase, but got so lost in the process that he ended up stopping at the same Chevron station that he robbed, and not recognizing it, went inside and asked the man for directions.

4) A Louisiana teenager was arrested for shooting a shotgun at his mother, stepfather and step sister, as they drove away, for the heinous crime of giving the man music CD's for christmas instead of money.

5) A UPS driver recently suffered a head injury on an icy road in New Hampshire. When they brought the driver in for tests, the hospital realized that the required machine for them was broken (though parts were on order). After checking the status of the order, hospital personnel discovered that the parts had been shipped and were in fact in the crashed UPS truck, and someone was dispatched to the scene of the accident to retrieve them.

6) A Middleton, Ohio tax superintendent has been suspended without pay for a week for trying to inject some humor in the city income tax filing instructions. The misguided attempt at humor included lines such as: "If we can tax it, we will," and "Free advice: if you don't have a profit in a five-year period, you might want to consider another line of work." were sent last week to all Middlton businesses and residents who pay city income tax. Revised forms were immediately sent out, at a cost to taxpayers of $5,500.

I'm going with the squid. I know #6 is true.

Well, I think #4 sounds too normal, so I'll say that's the untrue one.

I'm going with #5. UPS is simply not that quick in saying a package is in a specific truck, nor does the website tracking go in that much detail.

#2

UPS actually can track that information, it just isn't generally available for public consumption, AFAIK. The same thing happened with one of my textbooks when a UPS truck got into an accident during the heavy rains we had in California last month. The same day as the accident, the textbook site emailed me to notify me of what had happened, and offered to send me out a replacement textbook with faster shipping (which they did).

I vote #4, as the kid wouldn't have waited until they were driving away...

#1, how can you build a catapult without anyone noticing, or asking "Hey, whats with the catapult?" (Hé, ce qui est avec la catapulte?) aimed directly at Macdonalds.

I know #3 is true. I call Squid.

I'll change mine to #6.

SirFozzie

So Farrah claims that she KNOWS #6 is true.
Franklinnoble's claiming that he KNOWS #3 is true.

Any one else want to claim that you know another one is true? After all, any of them may be true.. hell all of em may be true... *evil grin*

If 6 is true, I would say they all are true.

Three and six are true. I'm going with the disfunctional, single-machined New Hampshire chop-shop, hospital. Do doctor's change parts in MRI machines like mechanics do cars? If so, remind me never, ever to get an MRI.

I KNOW that #2 is true.

I'm going with #5, but I'll probably be wrong...

All my work has been done on research only magnets, but they were constantly swapping in and out parts because they frequently break. It only takes one idiot with a paperclip afterall...

I am going with 2. I would expect the mouth and throat to take most of the force from the alcohol. Plus that injury sounds like it would be fatal (hole in your stomach when it is full of beer)

I'll go with #1 being false. I don't doubt people can build a catapult, I doubt being able to fling squid and hit the McDonalds accurately.

I'm 99% sure #4 is true. Seem to remember reading that one in the paper.

I'll also go with #1, but for a different reason - I just can't see the French putting that much effort into something...

You may begin bowing now. :D

I figured since I had been found out fairly easily the last couple times, I'd list ALL true stories and see which one rang as least plausible.

Was fun to see everybody guess :)

FWIW, I just saw this and would have guessed #2. I would not expect an Australian to waste beer like that.

I couldn't decide, and was going to go with the Kid returning to the scene of his crime.
