At a friend's place. He has a small get-together every year, usually about 6 or 7 people. I don't like to watch the game in a big crowd where half the people usually don't even care about it.

Back in Brussels days, I used to watch the game in a US sports bar called "Fat Boys." The next day was always rough. I rarely got to bed before 5:00 am.
Tomorrow, I will have some folks over to the new place and watch the game among un-packed boxes and the like.
What the hell is QB1?

QB1 is that trivia game they have in bars....except during football game you have to call the play you think that the offensive team is going to run
The board looks like this
short deep back
left middle right
run pass
you call a base play(run or pass)
then you can get more specific for more points
EG: Run middle or pass deep left

After covering a women's hoops game for the paper, I'll head back to the Michigan Daily, to write my story and help get the paper put together. I should have my story done by 6, which will be perfect timing to start watching the game with the rest of the sports staff at the Daily. Unfortunantly for us, it took us until 4:30 in the morning to finish up the paper last Sunday, so with the Super Bowl going on, I can only imagine how late it will take us to finish up.

Haha! Me too. Party at Dad's house to watch the game in HD on his 60" HDTV in his theater room.
Some friends, family, and lots of food and beer! This thing is kicking off at 12 noon... We have Texas holdem poker, pool, and I'll have Madden 2k5 going on the bigscreen upstairs!!

I'm just going to stay at home with my wife, and I'll watch as much of the game as I can tolerate, and my wife will probably watch with me or play EverQuest II. Unless the Broncos are playing, the Super Bowl really isn't THAT big of a deal in my house.

I had a choice of going to two different SB parties, but they are both going to be too much about the experience and not enough about the game. I want to savor every minute of the game, so I'll probably stay home on the couch and watch it alone (likely while logged on here with my laptop.) If the Eagles weren't in the game, I'd almost certainly go to one of the two parties.

Either by myself at home, or with my best friend. No big parties for me. I hate when they all talk during the game, thinking the commericials are the only reason to watch the game. Need to find a small group that is really knowledgable about football to watch big games with ;).

Exactly...a neighbor sent an invite yesterday to a party at his house, but my basic view was:
1. I don't want to go and get angry at anyone rooting for the Pats
2. I don't want to go and get angry if the Eagles are losing
3. I don't want to go and be insufferable if the Eagles are winning
Any other team, and I'm probably there (though I generally enjoy football just watching it by myself, or maybe a very small group of friends/relatives). But the Eagles? This is something I just have to experience by myself (and *maybe* the wife and kids for short periods ;) ).

I have two choices, but I don't know which one to pick yet. I can go see the game at a families friend house on a OK tv with lots of food and stuff, and theres going to be a current SF 49er there because she's his assistant (nicest guy I've ever met). Or I can go to my brothers house and watch HDTV 60" with limited food and people there.

I'll be right here..... I was going to go to my parents and watch it with my father, but I don't see that happening. I'm guessing I'll wake up right about 4pm, in time for the poker tournement on NBC.... and the it's FOFC for the game....

The funny thing about Lloyd is that, upon watching him for a season, he will make the amazing and breathtaking catches, but you hit him with a simple rout and he will totally screw it up.

NO! NO! NO!!!!
My most immediate boss just called. He invited me and Mrs. Eaglesfan27 over to his house for an early dinner and to watch the game on his big screen TV. I explained to him that Mrs. Eaglesfan is working, but he really wants me to come over. His boss and the chairman of the department are going to be there. I strongly doubt they are big time football fans, and I know they are doing it in part because they really want me to agree to the terms of job A (which I'm about to do), but I don't see how I can get out of this. This is particularly true because he caught me totally off guard with the phone call, and I didn't have a good excuse ready.
Oh well, at least I have the DVD-Recorder set up to record this game for many repeat viewings over the years.

My wife is obviously watching the pre-game and I walked by and she commented that there seems to be a lot more Eagles fans there than Pats fans. I replied, "Yeah, Eagles get to do this every 25 years, it's an annual thing for the Pats." She laughs at my jokes which is why I love her.

Hmmm....They surely must want you then. They do other things to try to lure you?
Is it just me, or are Super Bowl parties not as big as they use to be? Kinda like New Years Eve parties, more people opting to stay in.

I have no doubt they want me. They have gone up considerably in the amount of compensation they are offering me in my 1st year of the contract. This was a friendly overture to show that I wouldn't just be another employee, I think.
In any case, it was actually a fairly fun evening despite the Eagles loss. They didn't know as much about football as I did (the guy who invited me to his house didn't know almost anything about the sport, and I strongly doubt he would have been watching the game if I wasn't there) but the highest boss knew a lot about the game. Furthermore, he went to Harvard medical school and was naturally rooting for the Patriots. We had some fun good natured jabs at each other all night long.
I thought the loss was disappointing, but I feel confident that the Eagles are in good shape to be back there in the near future and should be the favorites to make it there next year.
Oh yeah, the food was great. The guy who invited me is Cuban (as is his wife) and I had never really had good Cuban food before tonight. Tonight's dinner was delicious.

No it wasn't Lloyd, Lol, it was an starting offensive lineman. He had some interesting stuff to say about the game. He was rooting for the Patriots since he said he didn't like TO (go figure). He actually had a lot to say about TO and how he was a distraction to the team. And how some players would tell TO to shut the f up and play football but TO would continue to talk. I asked him what he thought of Mike Nolan and he said he really liked the guy. I told him that I wanted Charlie Weis to be the head coach, but he said that Weis seemed like he was just to serious at his conference at Notre Dame and he wouldnt want to play for him. I asked him who he thought we should draft this year and he said that we need a new running back. I figure he knows what hes talking about since hes an O lineman so that wasnt really an endorsment for Kevin Barlow. I asked him who he thought was going to be the QB next year and he guessed that Tim Rattay would be the starter, but he seemed kind of unhappy about that. He said he didnt know if he was going to be a Niner next year either and he's waiting till March 1st to find out. If he had a choice for the first round pick, he said that the Niners should choose a shutdown CB. And lastly, which liked best, was when I mentiond John York, the owner of the Niners, he just looked like he was disgusted. York obviously isnt the most popular figure around. He also said he still has a soft spot for Steve Mariucci and wished that the Niners wouldnt have fired him. Just thought I would post this since not everyday you get to get the insight from a player.
