View Full Version : NFL Network/TiVo Question

Has anyone else besides me had any frustrations in trying to TiVo programs from the NFL Network? Today I tried to record the History of the Philadelphia Eagles, from 4pm to 6pm. About halfway through, I skip through a commercial and resume playing again, and I get a big "technical difficulties" screen, but receive the audio for the program. The message disappears for a round of commercials...and then after the commercial set, another program is running!

Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but it isn't possible the NFL Network has found a way to screw with TiVo, is it? Did anyone else view this program today, and if so, did it air in its entirety? Or was this another case of their irregular programming (I've had other programs cut into by Rich Eisen, etc).

i don't have TiVo, but why would NFL Network want to screw with TiVo?? Just to get back at TiVo for helping viewers skip through their ads? I would think they'd be glad for any viewers at this point really.

That's really my thought too - I just didn't understand what could cause a "technical difficulty" in a taped program that would prevent it from being shown in its entirety. Either situation seems odd to me.

but the technical difficulty was when the program was coming in right? So maybe while NFL Network was broadcasting it it had technical difficulties right...which then got saved to the TiVo.

Yes, it had been coming in for about an hour, the screen was there for maybe a few minutes, and then when the screen went away...bam, new program (and this was a two hour program). It even appeared that it resumed with a program that was already in progress.

Maybe it's even something funky going on with just the tivo, though I haven't seen a problem with my other recordings. This is why I'm wondering if anyone else was watching this. :)
