Here is my structure for promotion in FBCB. (I know there is computerized promotion options)
East
Big East (5 of 5 prestige)-This is the top for this regions teams. Bottom of each division relegated to Atlantic 10.
Atlantic 10 (4)-Top of each division gets promoted to Big East. Bottom of each division relegated to Colonia Athletic Association.(CAA)
CAA (3)-Top 2 get promoted to A10 and bottom 2 relegated to American East and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference(MAAC)
American East and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (2)-Winners get promoted to CAA and the last place teams gets relegated to either the Northeast or Patriot Leagues.(both 1)
Northeast and Patriot (1)-The team with the best overall record gets promoted to American East.
West
Pac 10(5)-Top level. Bottom 2 get relegated to Mountain West or Western Athletic Conference(WAC)
Mountain West and WAC(4)-Winners get promoted to Pac-10 and bottom of each gets relegated to West Coast.(3)
West Coast (3)-Top 2 get promoted to Mountain West or WAC. Bottom 2 get rekegated to Big Sky or Big West.
Big Sky and Big West(2)-Winners ger promoted to West Coast. Bottom teams are subject to drop to 1 prestige conference or independent status.
Other Areas-This is a real mess, I have grouped the ACC, SEC, Big 12 and Big 10 into this grouping.
ACC, SEC, Big 12 and Big 10(5)-Top level, bottom team in Big 12 gets relegated, ACC, SEC, and Big 10 last place teams and Big 12 next-to last place teams are subject to relegation.
Conference USA (4)-Winners of the 2 divisions get promoted to a 5 prestige conference. Bottom of each division gets relegated to Sun Belt.
Missouri Valley(4)-Winner gets promoted to Big 12 and bottom team gets relegated to Horizon.
Horizon (3)-Winner gets promoted to Missouri Valley and bottom team gets relegated to Ohio Valley.
Sun Belt(3)-Winner of eacb division gets promoted to Conference USA. Bottom of each division gets relegated to Southern.
Ohio Valley and Southern (2)-Winners get promoted to Horizon and Sun Belt respectively. Bottom of each conference gets relegated to Mid-Contient Conference(MCC) and Big South respectively.
MCC and Big South(1)-winners get promoted to prestige 2 and bottom teams are subject to independent status.
Conferences not involved
MEAC and SWAC-Don't want any non historic black colleges.
Ivy League-Don't want Rutgers in this league in 40 years time.
Southland-has no real promotion point, I will make the judgement when a team needs to move up.
East
