According to Fox59 out of Indiana, the Pacers have scheduled a 2 pm press conference tomorrow with Jermaine O'Neal, Ron Artest, and Stephen Jackson. It's definately possible that this could be nothing, but some signs indicate Artest could be back after the All Star Break.

I think they've formed a group. Must be to announce the release date.

Maybe it's to announce an update in their ongoing legal battle.

According to local radio, the Pacers are not saying what the conference is about. However, they have stated that it is NOT about RonRon's suspension.

I'm a Pacers fan and don't think there is any reason why Artest should be allowed to play again this year, if ever again.

It could be about their legal activities, I couldn't find out anything from the guys I know down in Indy, and usually I can get a hint from them.

This one is locked down tight for some reason.

I agree then that it's the announcement of their group.

here is what the announcement was about.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- The Indiana Pacers are donating $2.4 million to 11 local charities, money that comes mostly from fines levied against five players for their roles in the November brawl with Detroit Pistons fans.

The Pacers asked the NBA to give the money to charities in Indianapolis, and team chief executive Donnie Walsh said the request was granted. Walsh called the mayhem in Auburn Hills, Mich., ``a low point for the owners, this franchise and the players.''

``We came out of it determined to make something positive happen for this team and this community,'' Walsh said Thursday. ``We think this does that.''

The NBA fined Ron Artest, Stephen Jackson, Jermaine O'Neal, Anthony Johnson and Reggie Miller for their roles in the Nov. 19 fighting. All five attended a news conference to announce the donations, but none took questions.

Artest, whom NBA commissioner David Stern suspended for the season after the brawl, smiled as he greeted representatives of the agencies and shook hands with some children. The other four players also were suspended.

The Pacers also donated an unspecified sum to charity. Of the team's donation, $1 million will go to the United Way of Central Indiana. The other charities include Riley Hospital for Children, St. Vincent Children's Hospital, Special Olympics Indiana, Indiana Black Expo and the Indianapolis Public Schools.

Bullshit spin.

If you wanted me to care, don't hold a fucking press conference, just be a good person and do it on your own.
