Chris Noth's guest appearance this weekend on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" is the start of something big.
Noth's casting will ease the workload for D'Onofrio, who was hospitalized briefly last year for exhaustion.

Can't help you.
I have no time for that CSI/Law & Order bullsh*t.
I boycott since it's on 27 channels every nite.

Det. Logan punched a politician outside a courtroom. It is then presumed he got fired or demoted.

I believe they busted him down to patrolman in Staten Island.

The show has a very good premise, but it really does fail to deliver. I like D'onofrio, but every show seems to be about him getting into the head of the criminal and verbally beating a confession out of him. I keep wanting to like the show, but I don't.

Noth played Mr. Big, Carrie's love interest for the majority of the series, Sex and the City.

You have a lot of info in your three-ring binder.
aw, why couldn't Noth sign on to the next spinoff, Law & Order: Trial By Jury. It starts on March 3 and I'm looking forward to it, since Jerry Orbach filmed the first 6 or so episodes before his death. It also stars Kirk Acevedo (Miguel Alvarez from Oz), and I haven't heard who is the replacement for Orbach.
I believe they busted him down to patrolman in Staten Island.
A few years back, NBC aired Exiled: A Law & Order Movie , a made-for-TV 2 hour special. The main character was Noth, reviving his Det. Logan role. You find out more why he was demoted to Staten Island, and find out he's just itching to get back to the mainland. He lands a homicide/rape case with mob implications, and makes his way back his old precinct to and spars with former partner Lenny Briscoe and his new partner Rey Curtis (Benny Brat). Also a prominant role for the oft-mentioned Det. Profaci from early seasons (always an "extra detective" the captain would assign to a case, but you never actually saw him until this movie I believe.)
Well worth a watch if you are a Noth fan. They air it on USA Network probably 2 or 3 times a year.
Glad he's coming back, but to echo someone above, it's a shame he's joining the worst of the 3 series. He'd be good on the new series to draw some interest, possibly replace Lenny. Although no one will ever fully replace Lenny.

What's up with ALL the OZ actors on Law & Order spinoffs. I've seen like 5 already on SVU.

I think that the guy who created Oz(Fontana) wrote for Homicide:Life on the Street also. Somehow the Homicide producers and Law and Order producers are linked together. Im not sure how.

from imdb:
Producer Dick Wolf is old friends with producer Tom Fontana. They often use actors from each other's TV series, usually resulting in the actors working on two shows at once. Examples are J.K. Simmons on "Law & Order" (1990) and "Oz" (1997), Christopher Meloni and Dean Winters on "Oz" (1997) and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1999), and Kathryn Erbe on "Oz" (1997) and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (2001). Richard Belzer famously leaped from producers' show to show as Detective John Munch.

Noth's resurrection of Mike Logan on tomorrow's "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" is the beginning of a longer-term relationship. On Wednesday, NBC announced that Noth, equally well known as "Sex and the City" heartthrob Mr. Big, would split the lead with "Criminal Intent's" Vincent D'Onofrio next season, appearing in 11 episodes.
The official reason behind the decision is that playing Detective Goren has worn out poor Vinnie.
"The hardest job in show business is being a single lead on an hour drama series," series creator Dick Wolf said in a press release. "Vincent has done an unbelievable job for the last four seasons, but after three years, the grueling pace finally took its toll."
He's tactfully referring to D'Onofrio's fainting spells, for which he was hospitalized in November, while sidestepping allegations about the mercurial actor's fondness for on-set fistfights. Whatever it takes to get you through, friend.
Sounds like D'Onofrio had a few more issues than just fainting. Earlier in the season there was talk about moving L&O CI from Sunday due to Desparate Housewives, NFL Football and HBO shows. Havent heard anymore about it recently though.

how did you guys like last night show?
I think it was one of the better Criminal Intent shows I've seen. But I probably won't watch again until the next time Noth is on.

I couldn't keep up with Logan and his girlfriend and all their accent changes. I think she was doing an Irish priest at one point.

Wait until you see my policy on cell phones. Everyone has them...I don't want one. That's a good 50 pages worth in there.
