I'm going to Steak and Shake. That's where we ate after our wedding 7 years ago.

Live and learn, my friend. But with the culinary mecca that is the Bay Area, you couldn't find a single decent restaurant?

My wife and I eat Valentine's lunch instead. Don't tell her it's about half the price.

Go to the grocery mart and get ready to cook her dinner. Explain that you wanted it to just be the two of you with a nice quiet romantic dinner at home.

I made this mistake years ago, but I managed a great save by remembering a favorite Japanese place with a Shabu-Shabu bar. There was never anyone at the shabu-shabu bar. I called, late on Valentines day and got us a spot at a reasonable hour.

Ever since then, I have been having Shabu-Shabu for Valentines day. Well this year will be an exception. Just a quiet dinner at home with an eight month old and a four year old.

Sucker! :p

Just remember, OG doesn't take reservations. Of course, you'll have to wait an hour and a half to two hours to get a table, but that's better than nothing, right? ;)
