my team gets soooooooo many penalties each game and it's driving me crazy

at one point i had pratice at 24, and still the penalties happened every week. right now i have it at 20, and i looked at every other team, only 9 had a higher pratice time then me. i dont know what to do, the team with the fewest penalties has a pratice of 15

what can i do to get my penalties down (avg 10 a game!)

Man, you need to instill some discipline in those young men. You must have a bunch of loose cannons on your team.

Maybe you should cut the next guy who has a multiple penalty game; this will help get the message across that you mean business.

Another thing is the Coach of the Year thing. Like what the hell does it take to win?!

Doesn't seem like there is anything you can do it just seems like whatever team is under human control you will have more penalties than your opponents. I have never found a solution to this. Practice time is supposed to help but I can't see any difference no matter where I have that placed at. The only answer seems to be build a strong enough team to overcome them. Sorry.

It's always been my impression that in TCY, penalties were Jim's way of cheating, ie somehow have a higher penalty setting for human players to give the AI a fighting chance...

Some of the penalties and their timing drives me CRAZY! Nothing worse than needing a stop on defense, down by 3 late in the game, 3rd and 20 for the other team, and you sack them for a 5 yard loss...only to get called with "piling on" or some other crap. That may be my biggest pet peeve of TCY (one of the best games ever made).

Stupid penalties have caused me to quit out of TCY, when it's such a huge game and it comes down to some crap penalty that would never be called in a huge ballgame (and I'm not talking PI, so don't bring up the Miami/OSU game).

Don't blame TCY for your lack of discipline.

BLUE! Do you trust that we have provided you with enough rope so that your cinder block will safely hit the ground?

I think it's based on a compilation of all the graded aspects of the game; academics, team performance, fund raising, and attendance.

Yes all of the above are certainly involved. Recruiting as well possibly. Good luck wrestling it away from it's permanent home in Ann Arbor as well :p

Tony Kosters of UCLA is the TCY coach of the year in like 70% of the seasons. It's scary.

Yeah, in my game since I'm playing in New Jersey HS, it's this same coach from Dunellen that has been to like 4 out of last 5 state title games, but only won one. Meanwhile, we've [my team Queen of Peace] won 3 straight and I never get picked. It bites, but glad there is an explanation of sorts.
