What the hell is espn talking about? are they just fishing for a story?

i mean, strahan has been, without question, the heart and soul of the giants D for years. He was injured last year, and once he went down, i dont believe they won a single game.

As a diehard giants fan, youve got to be kidding me that they are even thinking of cutting their only good defensive lineman.

Anyone else hear any rumors about this, besides espn?

I'm guessing he'll be on a monster contract with declining productivity, and this is the first move towards renegotiation...

i dont think 18.5 sacks 1 year ago is declining productivity.

this story is infuriating, true or not.

The Cowboys sure could use a pass rusher... :)

You're forgetting we have Jerry Jones as GM. He'll managed to fuck it up again.

Neither would I to be fair: missed 2003 pretty much completely as I was in Asia getting drunk for a year (watched about 15 mins of a Buccs/Eagles game in a casino, through 1 eye to try and focus!), and never really caught up with the stats - I remember him getting ten or so after his record year, and getting injured / doing sweet fa this year...

Still would anticipate that his productivity will decline - but have made mental note to check 2003 facts before making statements about trends! :)

Bah. The Redskins are actually talking about cutting WR (can't spell his first name) Coles.

Not trading. Cutting. Because Coles wants to be an UFA, and he's agreed to pay back some of his signing bonus to lessen the cap hit.

All because Coles isn't happy, and the Redskins want him to have toe surgery. Or some shit. I dunno.

Not only that, but they've given Rod Gardner permission to seek a trade.

So, who the hell is going to catch passes for the Redskins next year? Has Henry Ellard retired? Maybe Gary Clark is still in playing shape...

wasnt taking a shot at you. i had to look it up, myself :)

yes, he had a down season after getting 22 in 2001. but overall, the guy is far and away the heart and soul of the defense...and probably the entire team. cutting him would be beyond disasterous. i am still trying to find out if this is something espn invented, or something being seriously considered.

if the giants are going to cut anyone, it should be will allen. i made a special note to watch him at every game i was at, after i had an inkling that he was beyond terrible. after studying him extensively, i am convinced he is one of the worst starting cb's in the entire league. and im not exaggerating. the guy is a bad nickel back, at absolute best.
