This is my chance to say those Nash to Stoudmire dunks sucked ass. Minor props to Nash for being able to control a ball on his head, but what was so difficult about Stoudmire's role in them?

The dunk would have been awesome had Amare done something special after he caught the ball. I was like, " Holy shit, that was amazing, " after it first happened but after I watched Amare's part I didn't think it was anything special.

I just loved the Nash part. Haven't seen that before, I like Nash, and I had no idea he had soccer skills.

I was talking with someone about it, and they wanted to see the Nash parts. That's why I asked. I agree that Stoudamire did nothing after. I think the commentators made fun of that too.

Steve Nash's brother Martin is a pro soccer player and played for the Canadian National Team as well so obviously the talent must run in the family.

What the hell did some of you guys expect Amare to do after that? It's not impressive enough that he can throw the ball off the backboard to a teammate's head, catch the ball and dunk it from the other side of rim? What were you looking for? You wanted him to do a double pump? Maybe he could've hung around in the air and knit a sweater while he was up there? How about taking some college courses and furthering his education before slamming the ball home?

I thought the whole thing was impressive. What I want to see is Chris Andersen missing his first dunk 8 times.

The dunk contest was dumb. I remember when i was a kid and liked to watch the 3 point shootout and the Dunk contest. Struggled to stay awake this year. Either get some stars to dunk off, or cancel it. Kobe vs. Lebron vs. Tmac vs. Vince.....yeah, i'd love to see that. Too bad it will never happen.

That Smith kid was legit this year and I would hate to see someone like him not get into the contest. I think the white guy ratio should be much lower though. Perhaps 0 to everyone else would be proper.

Are you serious? I could care less where the fricking ball comes from, whether it be from Steve Nash's head or it shoots out from some complex contraption that is set off by the erection of some guy sitting in Row 6, Seat 11. You take away the stupid header and you've got an alley-oop that is done in the NBA probably a few times a year.

Well, obviously, if you take away the header, it's just an alley-oop. The point is that you can't take away the header. Anyway, a few things had to happen for the dunk to be successful. If the pass to Nash comes off the backboard wrong, the dunk can't happen. If the header back to Stoudemire comes off wrong, the dunk can't happen. If the timing is off at all, the dunk can't happen. I'm not saying that it's the greatest thing in slam dunk contest history, but I didn't think it was exactly "ho-hum" either.

So what constitutes a great dunk these days? We've seen the windmills and the tomahawks and the alley-oops off the backboard. I thought that the contest was eliminated (temporarily) a few years ago because everybody was doing the same old things. Now people are doing new things and actually pulling them off (and not taking 9 attempts to do it), yet this still isn't good enough. Maybe they should get rid of the dunk contest again.

I was particularly impressed with the Nash/Stoudemire's dunk. Off the board, onto Nash's head, caught in mid-air with one arm, and the 360 put-back. Remember, Amare spun in the air as he received the ball with one arm. Yeah, it wasn't the greatest dunk ever, but it was one of the better trick dunks I've seen.

When Josh Smith went with the windmill, I just thought that hey, it doesn't matter how many times I see guys do the same dunks, as long as the dunk's level of dificulty is high, it's still impressive to watch.

Amare's clutch reverse would've been a 10 if he had enough elevation and he didn't take 2 tries.

Like Barkley and Kenny Smith said, everytime someone says that all the dunks have been done, someone pulls off a new dunk.

Like Magic Johnson said as he saw the windmill by Josh Smith.

I'd like to see them move the rim to about 14' and make people actually SHOOT the basketball instead of just seeing who can throw the ball thru a rim.

I'm sure it has been said somewhere else a gazillion times, but they have to get rid of the dunk contest and put in a game of H-O-R-S-E with the one caveat that no jump shots should be allowed from less than 35 feet to eliminate the possibility of the little guys beating the big guys just by shooting 3's. Then we'll begin to see more creativity.
