Am I right in thinking that the 1 yr franchise player contract, unlike normal NFL contracts, is guaranteed? If not, I can't see how the system would work...

The reason I ask is I've noticed in FOF you can franchise a player to try and trade him, but if there's no takers he can be cut at no cost as there's no bonus, which doesn't seem right somehow.
