for my FOF MP league - League of Extraordinary Football (http://deanhouston.org) I can't get into my forum from my home pc, but I can from my work PC. everytime i try to get into the league forum it says the 404 error that the URL doesn't exist. Sov, my commish, said it was definitely a DNS issue. it sucks cuz everyone else is able to get into the fourm but i can't for some reason (from home, that is). any suggestions?

i understand i wasn't entirely descriptive of my problem. also, i cleared the cache and all that, so that's not the issue. thanks for any help you can provide.

Call the ISP where you are having a problem and tell them.

You will have to suffer through a few hand-offs till you get someone who knows what DNS is though.

Someone should be able to help you.

edit: you should be at your computer though, or they will dump you :)

Here's that other link btw if you need it.

Just to let everyone know, I had him cleare his cache and also flush his DNS and he still can't get it to work. We changed hosting services, so that is at the root of his problem.

so no one else has any damn suggestions? Maybe you aren't elite enough to access that league from home.

You sound pissed. I wonder if you're as pissed as I am though. I'm getting ready to start tossing around a 12" TV pretty soon after messing around with an upload script.

The domain name change hasn't propagated to the name server that feeds your home connection. This is probably under the watch of your ISP, but nobody that you get on the phone will be able to do a damn thing about it.

How often a given ISP updates their name servers can range from 1 to 72 hours or longer, and you're basically at their mercy. Nothing you can do except wait.

bingo.

i can get on from home. i suspected this much - that it was a propagation issue. oh well, crisis averted.
