I just couldn't resist, so I'll post the short version. World of Warcraft has weekly maintenance done to their servers between 6-10 PST. Every week, someone complains because they don't understand time zones. This weeks' champion was classic:

---------------------------------
Original Poster:

I can only play in the mornings, and somtimes at night and on weekends. I try to log in on Tues. morning, everytime. It says:

Posted at 6:00am PST
Servers will be down for our 4 hour maint....

But when I try to log in at 11:00am CST, when they should have been up 2 hours ago, they are still down. Please just put that the server down time will be 6+ hours...it gets my hope up every Tues morning! Or at least move the server downtime to like 4am or something, no one needs to be up playing that that hour!

And why do people complain about a loggin Que? Is it really that bad. I've never been in one. I play on lots of servers, none of them have it:

Elune
Mal'Ganis
Uther

Never sat in line, the only time I sat in line was in Open Beta...that was when there was like only 15 servers or something too.
-----------------------------------------

Now you can imagine the flames regarding the ability of the poster to tell time. Here's a calmer response from a nice person.

6 am to 10 am PST, is

8 am to 12 pm CST.

Cst is two hours later than PST.

So the server should still be down at 11 am CST.

-------------------------------------------

So what does the Original Poster post later?

Ok, I only read a few contructive posts instead of the flames (lol nothing better to do?). I thought PST was an hour behind Central, oh well. But even so, I get on at 11:30 and it doesn't work :P

--------------------------------------------

BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

What's funny is how few flames were posted after the 2nd time-telling mistake. I think everyone was too astounded at the stupidity to respond.

Blackadar, you forgot to include the entire 2nd post...

"Ok, I only read a few contructive posts instead of the flames (lol nothing better to do?). I thought PST was an hour behind Central, oh well. But even so, I get on at 11:30 and it doesn't work :P

By the way, do I need to bring a sleeping bag for the trip?"
