Pretty cool! We are running out of undone accomplishments for adventurers.

Interesting, just yesterday they were saying that he didn't have enough fuel.

Interesting, just yesterday they were saying that he didn't have enough fuel.

But then he had those bean burrito's for dinner and viola problem solved.

On Wednesday, Fossett thought he might have to abort the attempt and land in Hawaii after the support team at Mission Control here discovered he had 2,600 pounds (1,181 kilograms) less fuel than expected.

The 3,350-pound (1,522-kilo) single-engine aircraft lifted off from here with 18,100 pounds (8,210 kilos) of fuel on Monday.

But by 0400 GMT Thursday, Fossett and his crew determined that he had sufficient fuel to continue onward.

"The jet stream has been extraordinary. That allowed me to make up some time. In addition I've practiced fuel conservation." Fossett said.

Probably had enough fuel all along, just wanted to get some extra attention.

I thought this had already been done by Dick Rutan.

I thought this had already been done by Dick Rutan.

It was, but he also had a co-pilot, so they were able to trade off on piloting and get rest. Steve is the first guy make the flight solo.

Not sure what the big deal is. The US Air Force has been doing non-stop around the world flights for some 50 years now.
