After seeing a thread about this game, I've decided to play around with it some. I'm going by CapOlogist and I chose Las Vegas to start out in.

Day 1: This game starts out pretty slowly. You only start out with $500, which doesn't get you very far. I put my money in the bank to at least collect interest for now. I'm mainly committing crimes(38 extortions, 2 car nickings). I've extorted several kindergartners so far to the tune of $40 so far, not too good. There are several percentages that I'm not sure what they mean yet. I'll probably continue to play some more tonight.

The FAQ say that you can sell blood to the bloodbank, but I don't see that option when I go there.

My goal is to try to raise enough cash to buy some booze low and sell it when the price gets higher. This game will definitely take some time to learn and be able to really do anything.

I'd suggest trying to join a family as soon as possible. You can only sell blood after you reach shoplifter, I think.

Not to threadjack, but it is taking a LONG time to promote, what else can I do to move up quicker. I am just doing crimes mainly.

Just be diligent. I don't know of a "fast" way to promote. Just keep at it. Do crimes and nick cars. You can also try and bust people out. It won't work for the most part and will land you in jail for a short period, but timed right you can do it while waiting to commit another crime and such. You do gain some experience for it as well.

Once you've stashed a little cash and bought some protection (I don't know how much is enough personally), start shooting that bottle like there's no tomorrow. It's your best chance to survive, I think.

Actually, I believe I'm lucky, as I was approached. I think most families want you to request via an IRC channel or forum.

No family makes you fair game for just about anyone. It sucks, but it really does look that way. I think most of the killings that go on in this game are of the guys without a family. Sure, there are some exceptions, but for the most part the guys I've heard from FOFC and from Hattrick that died were without a family.

Spent way too much time playing last night. Ended up with about $20,000 in cash and 19 bullets. Still haven't been able to jack a car yet. I'm about 25% of the way through the Picciotto rank.

I'd love to get an fofc family together. I'm up to "Picciotto", about 20% into it. Have just over $12k now too. I think the poster was right about the car. Once you get one, your chance of success at crimes goes up.
