I took my laptop to work today (glad I did as I had a lot of no shows at the clinic) and when I got there my "C" key wasn't working too well. I have to really press hard on it, and sometimes press it multiple times to get it to work. Now, I'm at home and the "C" key and my left touchpad click button which is about 4 inches below the "C" key is not working too well. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Did you have some spillage in there?

If you laptop isnt under warranty anymore, and you consider yourself to be mechanically inclined, you could attempt to remove the keyboard, and clean it. However, it sounds like more than just that being the problem. If it is still under warranty I would take it in and get it fixed.

When I spilled water on my laptop keyboard, i opened it and turned it upsidedown for a few days. I also got a USB keyboard for 10 bucks because it didn't work consistantly for about a week after it started working again. After awhile, it started working great again though.

It's not under warranty anymore. I didn't have any spillage that I know about. Only the "C" key and the left mouse/touchpad button aren't working.
I'm not very mechanically inclined. I used to fix comptuers about 12 years ago, but am not nearly current in my knowledge base. How hard would it be to remove the keyboard to clean it out?

Dola -
Both buttons feel like they are jammed, although my "C" key is getting better as the day goes on.

Eagles Fan: It can't be to hard as the girls that work in my department take them apart all day. Although, you really dont know what your getting into until you take it apart, I would imagine you have to remove everything from the inside of the laptop to reach the keyboard. I would only try this as a last result.

Will this be the end of Wigan for a while? :(No! I've been playing all day despite the problem. I'm at times using my wireless keyboard, but I don't like it that much because it is so small. It just means I might have more typos than usual in my write-ups. I'm playing right now. Also the computer's keyboard seems to be spontaneously getting better as the day goes on, so hopefully if I keep forcing the "C" key it will fix itself.
As a side rant, I can't believe so many people skip their free appointments for their kids at the clinic I work at because of rain. I understand the majority of the clients have to take public transportation, but I would think they would want to make this appointment when their kids have a serious psychiatric problem. However, that same mentality should hopefully make me have a good call night tonight.

Pretty sad about the later. Then they wonder why this happen. Kinda interesting, I am just chillen before I have to get up and be at the hospital (flew to Boston for it) at 7ish for surgery. Not looking foward to the next two days. Post-surgery is the worst feeling in the world (not so much the pain-doesn't bother me, just being all wired up to everything, uncomfy, and feeling like "blah" (and covered in it with the stuff they put on you in surgery).
