Here's my attempt at a straight, simple TBCB dynasty. (Similar to what PilotMan has been doing and several others on the TBCB board) Here's the setup.

I will only be using Heavyweights to start off with. As time goes on I'll expand into other weight classes as well as add regional titles and such. The folks over at the TBCB have devised systems to handle just about everything and have created spreadsheets to help as well.

I will be using fictional boxers, but most will just be renamed real fighters. I'll introduce new fighters every couple of months (at random). We will have 30 fighters to start off with, but 20 of them with be "tomato cans" (tc's). The tc's will fight each other, but they really are there to pad the records of the fighters who are good.

However, for immersion and to interest, I will not say who the tc's are. In fact, I will not be looking at each fighter's ratings (other than their overall rating which is everywhere in the game). So even I will not know who the tomato cans are.

Anyway, shortly I will be posting the initial roster of the WFB

To schedule the fights and determine career stages, I will using systems created by cudedrum from the TCBC forums, slightly modified.

Career Points

This is the way we keep track of career stages. In cubedrum's system, 1-5 fights is beginning, 6-20 is Pre-Prime and then he uses a point system to determine how much a fighter "wears down" and goes into Post-Prime.

Here's my variation.

Each fighter goes 1-4(+d4) for beginning. One fighter might be Beginning for fights 1-5 and another might be beginning from 1-8. And then they go Pre-Prime for the next 10+2d6 fights (+ a 20% chance of d10 fights being added to simulate the "late bloomer" guy)

Once a fighter reaches Prime, he is given 100.0 points. Points are added and subtracted based on the following table.

Decision Loss -0.5
KO Loss -3
TKO Loss -5
Each fight fought -1.25
Each win +0.25
Each comeback win +1

Once a fighter reaches 30.0 points, he's at Post-Prime and one he gets to 10.0, he's at End.

For example, David Walters has just gone Prime and is at 100. He fights and wins his next 3 fights. He is now at 97.00 points since each fight reduces it by 1.25 but then he gets a +0.25 for winning. All points get added and subtracted from the table. He then loses his next two fights by TKO. He is now at 84.50 (-10 for the 2 TKOs plus -2.50 for the fights fought). He then wins his next fight so he stays at 84.50 (-1.25 for fight fought, +0.25 for winning and +1.00 for the fight being a comeback win.)

Scheduling

For starters, a champion will not fight more than once every 3 months, and 3 times at most ina year. Also, championship fights will be scheduled 1 month in advance.

Each fighter has a 25% chance of fighting in a month, with +10% added for each month of inactivity. So a fighter who has not fought in 2 months has a 45% chance of fighting.

Once I have determined all of the fighters who fight, I then determine who fights who. First off, if the champion is fighting, I determine who he fights against. The opponent must be in the top 10, and 25% of the time will be a top 5 fighter. I will also take "creative control" from time to time and just pick a guy if the drama has been built up.

From there, most of the higher ranked guys will fight lower ranked guys. 60% of the time, a boxer will fight the closest ranked fighter to them.

Fighters can also be injured and require rest. For every 2 knockdowns a fighter faces, he will require 1 month of rest. (1-2 knockdowns require one month, 3-4 knockdowns require 2, etc.) And then they begin the normal 25% chance of fighting. A KO lose adds a month to that, a TKO lose adds two. (For example, a fighter gets knocked down twice and loses by TKO. He needs 3 months of rest before starting his 25% of fighting)

Anway, enough of the details. Let's get to some action. Since no one is ranked and has no fights, All fights will just be random.

Sturm vs. Lajunen (4 Rounds)
Pretty boring fight. Not much happened.

The fight is a Draw! (38-38, 38-38, 38-38)

Weight vs. Shahatumi (4 Rounds)
Decent fight with some action. All 4 rounds were close, but Shahatumi seemed to get the better of Weight in 3 of them.

Jorj Shahatumi wins by Unanimous Decision (39-37, 39-37, 39-37)

Korfner vs. Mbarga (4 Rounds)
The first round was even but Korfner took over control in rounds 2 and 3. However, Mbarga came on strong in the 4th round.

Kidwell vs. Pester (4 Rounds)
Pester got the better of Kidwell through most of the fight. A gash was opened over Kidwell's left eye and the fight had to be stopped.

Dilbert Pester wins by TKO in Round 3

Blake vs. Tater (4 Rounds)
The first round was filled with nonstop action. The 2nd round saw Tater open a cut under Blake's right eye but in the third, when it looked like Tater was going to run away with the fight, Blake dropped Tater. Tater got up, though and finished off strong in the 4th round.

Nester Tater wins by Unanimous Decision (38-37, 38-37, 38-37)

Beginning of 2006

The Top 5 WFB Fighters
1. Jope Naituyaga 6-0-0 (5 KO)
2. Paul Korfner 6-0-0 (1 KO)
3. Nester Tater 6-0-0 (2 KO)
4. Rodan Weeney 5-0-0 (2 KO)
5. Arthur Simon 4-0-0 (0 KO)

I will not be crowning a champion for a while. I'm waiting for fighters to reach their Prime before handing out a title. Champions will fight less than nonchampions, and thus I don't want to slow down any fighter's developement by prematurely crowning a champion. I'd guess around year 2008 or 2009 will be the first championship fight. The first two fighters to reach their prime (and has a better than 75% winning record) will fight for the title.

As for what's new in 2006. 3 New Fighters for one....
Jack Warrington - USA
Rostand Plan - Switzerland
Jason Haynes - England

And the second thing for 2006 will be Fight Cards. For now on, at least 6 fights will occur in a month at it will be presented as a Fight Card, including how much money each fighter is being paid. All fights over 6 will be simmed as I have before. I'll just them club fights and they always get paid $50. So I'll be keeping track of how much money everyone makes as well.

*The random fight picker likes to pick Paul Korfner a lot. I'm not crowning a champ so that fighter developement doesn't slow to a crawl for whoever gets the title, but ti seems that, by chance, some are getting far ahead of others, so new rule: If a fighter fights two months in a row, they have to sit out a month to rest. This will keep some fighters from doing what Korfner did last year. I think he had 6 months straight of fighting. A little over the top. :)*

Korfner winning was a bit of an upset. He was the underdog by the odds. There will most likely be a rematch down the road and I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up fighting each other for the title. It was a very close fight and a 12 round fight would be very interesting (Korfner the boxer vs. Tater the slugger. A problem for Tater, however, is that he doesn't have very good endurance.)

Three draws and a majority decision followed by two quick KO's. A huge surprise in Tater dropping Weeney in the 1st Round. That might just be enough to elimnate Weeney from consideration to fight for the championship at the end of the year.

Nester Tater 12-1-0 (8 KO) vs. Jim Chang Kai 9-1-1 (3 KO)

Round 1: The round started off slow, but Tater started trapping Chang Kai on the ropes and corners. He knock Chang Kai down with 30 seconds left after a vicious shot to the ribs. Chang Kai gets up slowly but finishes the round with his right eye already beginning to swell. (10-8 Tater)

Round 2: A tale of two rounds as Chang Kai regrouped and dominated the round as Tater could not catch him. At the end of the round, Chang Kai had returned the favor as Tater's eye has now begun to swell. (10-9 Chang Kai)

Round 3: Tater regains control of the fight when he hits Chang Kai with a staggering right as the round begins. Chang Kai was on the run for most of the round. (10-9 Tater)

Round 4: Chang Kai dropped Tater near the beginning of the round with a destructive combination. Tater covered up well for the rest of the round. (10-8 Chang Kai)

Round 5: Tater regroups, as would be expected with the way this fight has gone, and landed heavy shot after heavy shot. Tater dropped Chang Kai mid way through the round and did not let up. He drops Chang Kai again with about a minute left and this time Chag Kai could not answer the count.

The fight ends at 2:06 in the 5th round. You're winner by knock out....NESTER TATER!
