Free Video Editor

Hi all, just wondering if anyone knew of a free video editor. I'm not looking for anything fancy just something to splice and merge clips of video. The ability to add music and text would be nice too but it's not a must.

Do you have Microsoft Movie Maker? I think it comes standard now with most releases of Microsoft and you can do some pretty basic video editing.

The other option is most of the low end video editors have free demos which will work for a project or two (I think they have 30 day trials and are fairly easy to learn). Try googling demos for ulead, pinnacle, or sony movie studio.
