HUGE boxing news, Jermain Taylor will fight Bernard Hopkins in July.
The biggest fight for real big boxing fans in quite awhile. Its a PPV fight and I dont think its gonna do great numbers. Certainly not like Oscar De La Hoya or any Heavyweight fight. But anyone who sees this will enjoy it, Taylor has a real chance.

Erik Morales has unbelievable fights, most exciting fighter of the past 10 years in my opinion.
I think it will be real interesting to see how much publicity Taylor vs. Hopkins gets. ESPN will have to talk about it because Hopkins is a major champ and they finally have a real boxing committment.
I dont think the average fan will order it though.

Looks like Hopkins & Taylor have pissed away the chance to fight over money and a rematch clause. Real shame, coulda been a great fight.

This si great news. Looking forward to this fight. This will be one of the PPV I actually buy this year. :D
well that fucking sucks. I wish they'd find a way to settle the money and get a fight.

Word that I have seen is that Hopkins is waiting out to fight the winner of the Trinidad-Wright fight. A title defense against either of those two fighters would earn him a much bigger pay day.

I think he beats up on Trinidad or Winky. Not sure about Taylor though. Id give Hopkins a slight edge but not as big as vs. the other two.
I definitely agree the payday vs. the others is MUCH higher, paticularly Trinidad.
man I can only imagine how much worse he would brutalize Trinidad a second time. the first match was bad enough.
