View Full Version : Not another Heavyweight Boxing Dynasty.....

So I lied, and decided to finally get something out of my purchase of TBCB. I'm starting a Heavyweight boxing dynasty. The group will have 2 santioning bodies:
1. Dubb's Boxing Commision. The DBC will offer a Heavyweight Championship. The rules in its title bouts are as follows:
*12 round fights
*3 knockdown system is in effect
*no standing 8 count
*10 point must system
*cannot be saved by the bell in any round
*If the fight is stopped before 3 rounds due to an accidental headbutt it is rules a technical draw, after 3 rounds it goes to the score cards.
2. Front Office Fighting Commision. The FOFC will offer a Heavyweight Championship. The rules in its title bouts are as follows:
*12 round fights
*no 3 knockdown rule
*standing 8 count is in effect on all knockdowns
*10 point must system
*can be saved by the bell only in round 12
*The fight is ruled a no contest if stopped by an accidental headbutt before 3 rounds are complete, after 3 rounds it goes to scorecards.
3. Both Commisions have agreed to a set of Universal rules that will dictate all non-number 1 contendership and title matches. It will also be the rule set used in a fight to "unify" the two titles.
*no less than 8 round, but no more than 12 round fights.
*3 knockdown rule is in effect
*standing 8 count is in effect
*10 point must system
*can be saved by the bell in any round
*The fight is ruled a no contest if stopped by an accidental headbutt before 3 rounds are complete, after 3 rounds it goes to scorecards.
4. More general rules
*all fights scored by 3 judges
*the ref or doctor can stop
*I will also keep an unoffical scorecard for fights as well
5. Ageing
*All fighters will age according to the following formula:
Beginning – 0-5 fights
Pre-Prime – 6-20 fights
*At this point they will enter their prime. They are assigned 100 career points. They lose these points as follows:
Win: -1 Career Points
Decision Loss: -1.75 Career Points
KO Loss: -4.25 Career Points
TKO Loss: -6.25 Career Points
*A fighter enters Post-Prime when he reaches just 30 career points left. There will be no notification he has entered this stage.
*A fighter enters "end" career stage when he has just 10 points left. There will be no notification he has entered this stage.
*A fighter may come back after his career has ended. He will automatically be assigned "End" career stage. He will then age according to the scale, except a win will earn him +2 Career Points. He may never re-enter Pre-Prime no matter how many points he has.
*If a fighter loses his first 3 career fights he has a 50/50 chance of retireing.
*If a fighter loses 5 straight fights and has a losing record he has a 75 percent chance of retiring.
6. Ranking
*After 10 fights the fighters will be eligible to be ranked. After the dynasty is on its feet, a fighter will not be eligible for a title fight unless they are ranked in the top 5.
*I will post the rankings for each title randomly.
7. Entering the scene
*Fighters will enter the scene randomly. I will do this by scheduling a tournament and instructing it to pick a certain number of fighters from my database of over 950 fighters. If I want to add 2 fighters, the first 2 that are choosen wil be added.
*The league will start with 16 boxers. I will be randomly selecting these fighters. There will be two 8 man double elimination tournaments. The winner of the first tournament will be the number 1 contender for the DBC Heavyweight Championship. The winner of the second tournament will be the number 1 contender for the FOFC Heavyweight Championship. We will then possibly weed out some talent, and schedule two 8 men single elimination tournaments. The winner of the first single elimination will become the number 2 contender for the DBC Heavyweight Championship. The winner of the second tournament will become the number 2 contender for the FOFC Heavyweight Championship. The two Heavyweight Championship fights will headline our first Mega-Card event.

Lets get this started......I'll be doing the entire DBC tournament before I start the FOFC tournament. The entire DBC tournament will the use the commissions rules and will be 12 rounds. After each round I'll post the next round's matchups. Remember this is double elimination...

Conditioning:
Courtney looks ready to go; he's obviously trained hard for this bout.
If appearance counts, Al Migliorato should have the fight won before the opening bell. He looks to be in outstanding shape.
Round 1:
Courtney comes out quickly as he tries to out muscle Migliorato from the inside. He scores with several hooks and combinations BEFORE DROPPING MIGLIORATO WITH AN UPPERCUT. Migliorato is down just 55 seconds into the bout.
He's up at just a 4 count, but he has a vacant look to his eyes. Courtney shows no remorse and moves in for the kill, bouncing shots off of Migliorato. He's killing him, Migliorato glances at his corner. They need to throw in the towel. Courtney lands a big uppercut that rocks Migliorato, he moves in firing off several combinations. Finally the ref. Montero steps in waving his arms. He's calling a TKO.
Winner:
By TKO at the 2:38 mark in the First Round

Conditioning:

Kohlbrecher trained hard and he's chafing at the bit, waiting for this fight to begin.
Round 1:
The two fighters come out cautious here in round one circling each other for the first 30 seconds. Finally they close the distance, Kohlbrecher fires....AND DOWN GOES ROSS. I've heard of one punch knockouts, but this is insane.
Ross is up at an 8 count. He gets up, but his legs are wobbly. Lets see if he can survive this, I don't have much faith, however, since he has only been hit twice and has already tasted the canvas.
Kohlbrecher moves in for the kill and starts throwing, he's missing more than he's getting in however as Ross is really playing some good defense. Kohlbrecher unleashes a combination, however Ross is able to slip and deflect every one of them. OH THERE IT IS, A WILD OVERHAND RIGHT LANDS FLUSH. ROSS IS DOWN AGAIN. THAT'S IT, ROSS CAN'T ANSWER THE COUNT.
Winner:
By knockout at the 2:01 mark in round 1.

David Bostice
*Height: 6'5
*Weight: 250 lbs
*Orthodox
*Boxer/Slugger
*From the United States
vs.
Cleveland Williams
*Height: 6'3
*Weight: 205 lbs
*Orthodox
*Slugger
*From the United States
Conditioning:
If appearance counts, Bostice should have the fight won before the opening bell. He looks to be in outstanding shape.
Williams appears to be in great condition; he looks like he's come to fight
Round 1:
The boxers both come out testing the jab, before Bostice lands a big hook. They go back to feeling each other out. Not much action for the first minute of the bout.
Bostice lands another hook to the head and one to body. He's really holding his gloves up high, and Williams takes advantage of it with a huge hook to the body. Bostice is hurt.
Williams finishes the round in complete control. Bostice was never in any real danger of going down, but after the big hook, it was all Williams.
I score this one 10-9 for Williams.
Round 2:
Bostice comes out looking a little hurt, but all in all I'd say he'll be ok. Bostice begins to make himself hard to hit. He's moving and making Williams chase him. Williams is carrying his hands low, not respecting Bostice's power and he takes advantage of it with some hooks. They don't appear to hurt Williams. This hit and run strategy could really pick Bostice up some rounds if he can keep executing.
Just as I say that he shows his youth and changes back to a more plodding style. This can't be good. Bostice begins to lob punches but Williams is countering him. Bostice lands an uppercut, but he is showing that he really has NO POWER. Williams comes right back with a HUGE UPPERCUT. Bostice is hurt. Bostice is trying to regroup by backing away.
Willaims begins to throw punches in bunches but Bostice is returning fire. Neither man seems to be getting the best of this exchange. Bostice lands a big uppercut, but to no effect.
I have to give this one to Bostice as he landed nearly twice as many shots. He never really hurt Williams, but seemed to control the flow of the round.
10-9 Bostice
Round 3:
Bostice begins this round by making Williams chase him. Williams corners Bostice and grabs his head. What the hell is he doing? The ref has to step in and get Bostice's head out of Williams chest. The both come back in with their heads down after the break. This stinks of an accidental headbutt. Bostice lands one of his now trademarked uppercuts that look good, but do no damage.
Bostice works free and right into a corner. Williams follows and rocks Bostice with an uppercut. Bostice is rocked again by a big hook. He's stunned and needs to work his way out of this corner. Another wicked right by Williams. Willams is a little tired as he leans on Bostice. Bostice pushes Williams off and misses with a left and a right, Williams hits a huge hook to the body. Big hook to the head by Williams. Bostice is free and Williams gives chase.
Bostice is loading up for a big shot, but is caught with a huge uppercut. Bostice is shaken, Williams follows up with a straight right. Bostice is in bad shape, but only has to survive 9 more seconds. Remember he can't be saved by the bell if he goes down, but he indeed manages to survive the round.
Not a good one for Bostice.
10-9 Williams
Round 4:
The two fighters come out for round 4. Williams looks like he could go the distance, but Bostice is really looking tired. Lets see how this plays out. Bostice is clinching and trying to hold Williams' arms. They continue to feel each other out as Williams lands a big hook. Bostice is staggered again. How long can he remain on his feet?
Williams is just missing with some big punches as Bostice is picking the right time to move away. Williams with a big cross. Williams is trying to cut the ring off by going straight at Bostice, not the best way to do it.
Bostice loads up with a half hook half uppercut, but he really doesn't have much power left, it doesn't even stop Williams' forward movement. The fighters get tangled up inside, they work their way out of it and Williams lands a huge cross. Bostice is stumbling, but only has 7 seconds to last. Bostice wraps up Williams in a clinch. The ref tries to break them up as the round ends.
Not a whole lot here compared to the earlier rounds. Bostice has nothing left. It's only a matter of time at this point.
10-9 Williams
Round 5:
As the fighters move to the middle of the ring Williams tries to suprise Bostice with a leaping shot but is way off, Bostice counters with a quick short uppercut. Williams isn't fazed. A clinch and stall fest insues.
Bostice lands a weak right cross as Williams continues to struggle this round. OH A HUGE COMBO BY WILLIAMS, BOSTICE IS HURT. Bostice is covering up. Williams is following up, but all his shots are wild. He isn't even close with most of these. Bostice lands some quality shots from the inside.
Referee Condon warns Bostice for hitting on the break. He informs the judges of the warning. Williams is beginning to move more, maybe some of these punches are starting to hurt him. The two get on the inside and Williams scores with a hook to the chest. Williams traps Bostice in the corner as the round ends.
A hard round to call, neither guy really did much, but I give it to Williams for the big shot in the middle of the round
10-9 Williams
Round 6:
For the first minute the two feel each other out, without much really happening. Bostice is trying to work from the inside, Williams really wants some space as he begins to push Bostice away. Bostice trys to work his way back in but gets caught with a big hook.
Bostice works his way inside and lands the weak uppercut he's been throwing all night. It may be weak, but it could sway a judge or two. Bostice begins to work the jab, hey he may be turning the fight around. Bostice lands a big cross, as Williams continues to miss with big shots.
Bostice rips a hook to Williams' head. They work their way around, Williams chasing Bostice, neither man landing much here. Bostice trys to work his way inside, BIG UPPERCUT BY WILLIAMS. BOSTICE HITS THE MAT. He's up at the 7 count, what a shame, he was winning this round big time. He doesn't look good, but only has 11 seconds to last, lets see if he can. Williams smells blood as he moves in, he loads up on a couple of shots that miss, and thats the end of the round.
What a shame Bostice went down here. He had controlled the entire round and although he hadn't hurt Williams was showing he could make Williams miss and was throwing lots of shots that were getting in. I have to give this round to Williams, but would have liked to be able to give it to Bostice.
10-8 Williams
****Halfway through the fight I got it 59-54 Williams. This isn't really close.
Round 7:
Williams pushes Bostice toward his own corner and blocks him in there to begin the round. Williams loads up on a right hand and lands it flush on Bostice's chin. HE SHOULD HAVE GONE DOWN THERE. THAT WAS A HUGE SHOT. He's really showing he can take some punishment tonight, but he doesn't have much left in the tank. Williams takes a step back and tries to move in, but Bostice clinches.
Williams is measuring Bostice up here. Bostice gets a big right hand in as Williams tries to move in. WILLIAMS MAY BE HURT, as he retreats to a vacant corner. Bostice moves in firing off the jab. This may be his chance. Bostice tries to work the inside and they bump heads. Bostice lands that short uppercut and misses with a loaded cross. Bostice lands a nice jab and follows it up with a good hook.
Bostice has completely rebounded from his last round knockdown as he has controlled the first two minutes of this round. Williams is getting wild, Bostice is starting to counter. Bostice with a big cross. They get on the inside and Bostice is sneaking plenty of punches in there. He may be onto something here.
Bostice never really hurt Williams this round, but he lands over 50 punches in there. Bostice really worked hard this round, I just fear he doesn't have the power to get the knockout he is going to need to steal this fight.
10-9 Bostice.
Round 8:
This round starts off the same as last. Williams comes out throwing wild punches and Bostice is right on top of things and landing nice, scoring counter punches. Williams is pretty much gassed. Slow round after the initial contact, nothing much happening at all, lots of stalling and clinching.
The clinch fest continues, these guys have seriously been clinching on and off for a minute and 10 seconds at this point without a punch being thrown in that time. Williams lets go a volley of punches but none find their mark. Bostice begins to bob and weave and scores with a hook. More clinching and holding ensues.........
Williams gets a solid uppercut that may just steal him this round as neither guy has done anything. Bostice brings back the clinch as Williams has nothing left to follow up with. They break and Williams sneaks in some solid jabs and straight right hands, he still has some power left. He tries to follow up but gets wild again as the bell sounds.
Hard round to score but I'll give it to Williams. He hurt Bostice twice this round and Bostice really didn't do much work here. Maybe he was trying to save something for a later round in hopes that Williams completely punches himself out. Neither guy looks real good at this point, this is turning into a real ugly fight.
10-9 Williams
Round 9:
They both come out looking very tired. Neither guy can hold their arms up. Williams lands a big uppercut that stuns Bostice. Or does it? Bostice fires right back with a hook to the body. Bostice begins to throw combos. He may have something left in the tank afterall. Williams tries to fire back, but his punches aren't even close. Williams moves back onto the ropes. What does he plan on doing from there?
Bostice doesn't really know what to make of this as he just kind of stares at Williams. He begins to move in and GETS HIT WITH A HUGE LUNGEING STRAIGHT. Bostice flees to his corner. Lets see how he gets out of this. Williams follows him in. Williams scores with a big hook. He's bobbing and weaving as Bostice's corner is in the background shouting at their stunned fighter. Huge uppercut by Williams. The end may be near.
I don't understand why Williams is backing off. What the hell is he trying to do? Bostice takes the chance to get out of the corner. Williams is working the jab as he chases Bostice. Bostice is backed into a vacant corner. Williams land a hook. And Again, he's falling in love with the hook this round. Bostice grabs onto Williams for dear life. Williams is trying to work free but the bell sounds. Bostice survives another round.
Wow, what can be said about this round. VERY one sided. Bostice isn't winning this fight, end of story. I expect him to rebound next round, as that seems to be the story with him so far when he loses a round big. I gotta go 10-8 with this one, just too one sided.
10-8 Williams
Round 10:
Bostice tries landing some early punches as the fighters close in on each other, but they bounce off Williams' gloves. Williams is trying to create some punching room here. Williams is now firing off some shots, but they don't find their mark. Bostice counters with a jab, but can't connect with anything else. Bostice is going upstairs and downstairs, he's hitting some great combos here.
We got some serious stalling. Bostice must have ran out of his second wind. Clinching....Clinching....Clinching....
Williams rips away with a left and a right both to the head. Bostice works his way to the inside and lands an uppercut. Williams backs away and both fighters keep their distance, Bostice rips away with a solid combination that STUNS WILLIAMS FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS FIGHT. Let's see how Williams handles this. Williams backs into a corner, but Bostice is content to clinch as the round comes to a close.
Well I gotta say this is nothing but a good sign for Bostice. He needs a knockout to have any chance of winning this fight[he could win both the last two rounds, hell, even score a knockdown in each, and I'd still have him down.] and he showed he CAN hurt Williams. This was a pretty solid round for Bostice.
10-9 Bostice.
Round 11:
Williams doesn't really look good as he comes out for the 11th round. Bostice has Williams pinned in the corner, but he can't really land any of his punches he is throwing. Bostice tries to find his jab as they "work" their way into a clinch. Not alot here.
Williams continues to hold onto Bostice. This round is a disaster. They break and appear to just look at each other. These guys are both finished. Completely exhausted, both of 'em.
Williams tries to land a combo but they are all slipped or blocked. Bostice lands some jabs. Williams counters with some weak shots of his own. Bostice is lobbing some punches, trying to win this round, but nothing is getting through, AT ALL. And of course this leads to a clinch. They break and circle each other for a moment, Williams tries to land the big one, but Bostice ducks right as the bell rings.
I couldn't possibly make an argument for either guy winning this round, so it's a draw.
10-10 Even
Round 12:
One plus before this round starts, it can't possibly be worse than the last one was. As a side note I have it scored 107-101 in favor of Williams. Bostice needs a knockout to win it by my card. He should come right out of the gate if he has anything left at all.
Bostice must be getting some bad advice in his corner as he comes out slow and seems content to be caught with Williams' clinches. Bostice tries to get some uppercuts in, but is just being smothered by Williams. Bostice backs off and is caught with a big hook to the body.
Bostice tries to come back inside and is tied up by Williams. Bostice is bleeding badly from under his left eye as they break. Both guys are reaching for their heads. This has to have been a head butt. If the fight is stopped at this point as a result of this it will go to the cards. Williams is being warned by the ref as Bostice is trying to plead his case for a DQ. The ref restarts the fight. Bostice must taste his own blood as he is going right for Williams, throwing the jab to work his way back in.
Bostice is trying to get a reaction out of Williams. He is saying something. Williams doesn't appear to be listening. Bostice lobs out a punch without much on it, it is easily blocked. Not much happening now, they appear to be sizing each other up. Bostice needs to do something fast, he only has 20 seconds. He fires off a volley of punches, but none find Williams. They circle each other, neither really throwing anything. Bostice throws one last desperate punch, but it bounces off of Williams' shoulder. Thats it, this one will go to the cards.
I'll give Bostice the benefit of the doubt and give him this round. Neither did much, just that one big headbutt.
10-9 Bostice
My final tally has it 116-111 for Williams.
Winner:
The Judges have tallied their scorecards......
Dick Young scores it 117-111
Raffaele Argiolis scores it 116-111
Axel Zielke scores it 117-110
For your winner by unanimous decision...

*I have no clue what to call him[Gonzalez or Sales], so I flipped a coin and Sales won
Conditioning:
McNeeley appears to be in great condition; he looks like he's come to fight.
Sales trained hard and he's chafing at the bit, waiting for this fight to begin.
Round 1:
The fighters slowly make their way out of the corners as the bell sounds. They try to feel each other out for about the first 15 seconds. Sales is the first to act. He gets a couple of good shots to the head in. McNeeley doesn't seem to be hurt. They are both pawing the jab, Sales gets a quick hook to the head in. McNeeley fires back with a cross. Sales was moving with the punch, not much there. McNeeley with a big hook. Sales backs off.
McNeeley moves in, hook, uppercut combo. Sales isn't doing very well here, he looks to be a little shaken. McNeeley throws a crippling hook, it misses high. Sales sneaks a quick uppercut in to counter. Sales is still in McNeeley's corner. McNeeley's trainer is shouting him advice as he lands a nice combo. Sales resorts to a clinch.
McNeeley is throwing some big shots but Sales is dancing in the corner. Nothing is getting through. Both fighters try to regroup. Sales works his way out of the corner, they move to the middle of the ring. McNeeley misses with some more shots. McNeeley continues to miss as the round comes to an end.
Sales wasn't very active this round so I gotta go with McNeeley. At this point this fight could end up going either way.
10-9 McNeeley
Round 2:
McNeeley comes out fast. He appears to be fired up. He lands a quick combo. Sales isn't backing off however, he must not be hurt. The two begin to circle each other. The action slows as Sales move into a corner. Got to question why he would go into a corner when he's not really being pressed here. They begin to lean on each other.
McNeeley takes a quick step back and hits a HUGE UPPERCUT. Sales is all the way back into the corner now. McNeeley is working the body with hooks. McNeeley now goes back upstairs with a quick hook. Sales is bleeding below his left eye. It doesn't appear to be serious however. Sales tries to fight back with a hook, but it is blocked and countered. Sales is trying to cover up as McNeeley unloads. McNeeley is leaving himself wide open here, HUGE HOOK BY SALES. MCNEELEY IS STUNNED.
Sales comes back with a big uppercut. McNeeley is looking winded, but he remains the more active fighter, lobbing punches all over the place. Sales lands a good combination. McNeeley isn't fazed, big right cross. He tries to follow it up with a big uppercut, but it misses as the round ends.
WOW, what a round. Sales stood toe to toe with McNeeley, but was still outworked. Sales only landed 19 punches, but made the most of them count, McNeeley on the other hand snuck home 42. I gotta give this one to McNeeley.
10-9 McNeeley
Round 3:
The cut man for Sales did a really good job getting his cut closed between rounds. Now HE needs to do his job and get some rounds before this gets out of control.
The fighters come out slowly, keeping their distance from each other. Sales is the first to pull the trigger, but he catches nothing but gloves. McNeeley fires back, AND WOW, SALES IS ROCKED WITH A SHARP HOOK. Sales is trying to regroup by holding on to McNeeley.
They break, Sales lands a sharp punch, but McNeeley lands a counter. McNeeley misses with a wild uppercut and leaves himself wide open. Sales misses this chance to land a scoring blow. They continue to measure each other as McNeeley pressures Sales into a corner.
Not much action now as McNeeley is giving plently of head fakes and feints trying to get an opening. Sales unleashes a flurry, nothing lands. McNeeley is really scoring with his jab, lets see if it can lead to some combinations. Sales throws a big shot, but McNeeley is able to duck under it. The fighters measure each other up as the third round comes to a close.
Sales really wasn't active this round. He is really starting slow. While I wouldn't say he was dominated here he clearly lost the round.
10-9 McNeeley
Round 4:
McNeeley is getting last second advice, or is very tired, as he takes his sweet ass time getting out of the corner. Sales waits for him in the center of the ring. McNeeley comes in firing. He lands a straight right hand to the chest. Big uppercut lands for McNeeley. Sales is moving laterally, quickly, trying not to get trapped in a corner. McNeeley is working the jab, he has completely controlled this fight thus far, and the jab is a huge reason why. Sales is clinching.
They break, McNeeley is standing flat footed, he wants to brawl. Sales seems game. McNeeley with a crushing hook, set up brillantly by his jabs. Sales is staggering. He's trying to throw punches to keep McNeeley off of him, but there is nothing on them. McNeeley with a big uppercut.
McNeeley takes a step back to create more room. He begins to score again with his jab. Sales backs into a corner, he's hurt. McNeeley moves in quickly and lands a huge combination. There is still over 30 seconds left. I'll be suprised if Sales can stay on his feet. McNeeley takes a step back and lands a crushing hook to the body. Sales is holding on to McNeeley. He won't let go, the ref is trying to get them apart. They break, the round ends but McNeeley is still punching. The ref has to jump between them.
That was a dominate round for McNeeley. He landed 54 punches, many of them crushing shots. Sales only managed to land 6. I'm not sure how much longer McNeeley can keep this up before he punches himself out, but he sure is fun to watch right now. I'm really tempted to go 10-8[and wouldn't be suprised if one of the judges did], but I'll stick with the 10-9 for now.
10-9 McNeeley
Round 5:
McNeeley is up off his stool early this round. He must be really pumped to try and finish this thing here. They circle each other for the start of the round. I really thought McNeeley would come out fast here, but he seems content to wait and see what Sales is going to do. McNeeley finally fires some jabs, but comes up short. Sales comes back with a nice right cross. McNeeley backs off, but moves right back in. He fires a nice uppercut and lands it. He's had that punch scoring for him all night. Sales doesn't seem to be hurt this time though. Sales pushes McNeeley away, he really doesn't want to fight from the inside.
Sales is trying to throw punches, but they really aren't close. McNeeley is bulling his way inside. He gets his head on Sales' chest and fires a HUGE HOOK TO THE HEAD. It lands. The ref is stopping the action. He is saying that last hook was thrown while he was trying to separate the two fighters. He is telling the judges about the warning.
The two fighters close the distance as the action resumes. McNeeley lands a nice combination. He follows that up with a huge uppercut. He is in complete control of this fight. Sales' corner is really trying to get him fired up. They are seen and heard screaming in the background.
Sales fires back with some jabs. He tries to follow it up, but nothing else is getting it in. McNeeley fires off one of his uppercuts but Sales has it defended this time. SALES LANDS A TREMENDOUS LEFT. MCNEELEY IS ROCKING. HE MAY GO DOWN HERE. Sales is following it up, he rocks McNeeley with a straight right hand. McNeeley gets Sales to back off him by landing yet another short, quick uppercut. Both fighters wing shots as the round comes to a close.
I don't know if this was a good round for Sales or a bad round. On one hand it gives him some confidence that he can hurt McNeeley. On the other hand he did everything he needed to do, stayed in the middle of the ring and danced around[didn't get caught in a corner], landed big shots, and avoided McNeeley's big punches, AND STILL DIDN'T WIN THE ROUND. He landed 24 punches to McNeeley's 38. McNeeley completely controlled the first 2 minutes of the fight before being rocked, and then regained control of the last 20 seconds. It would be nice to give Sales a round, but he was only in control of 40 seconds.
10-9 McNeeley
Round 6:
McNeeley looks to be in good shape as he comes out for round 6. Sales appears to be tired. McNeeley gets on the inside and lands a big uppercut. He follows up with a huge combination. Sales looks to be in bad shape just one minute into this round.
Sales is trying to create some room, MCNEELEY WITH A HUGE LEAPING STRAIGHT RIGHT. Just misses. That may have been the end of the fight if it landed. Sales misses with the jab but lands the cross. It doesn't seem to have hurt McNeeley. They try to lean on each other, but the ref steps right in and breaks them up. Sales goes into a corner[don't understand this]. McNeeley follows him in and leans on him. McNeeley pushes off to create some room for a big shot. They are measuring each other up, Sales lands a nice cross, but he is still trapped in the corner.
Sales keeps throwing punches, but they aren't getting through. He is out-working McNeeley this round, but isn't landing nearly as many punches. He has to shooting about 5% this round. McNeeley loads up on a big right, it misses. Sales catches him with another cross. McNeeley never saw that one coming. He isn't hurt as he throws a volley of punches back, they all score. McNeeley is banging away with both hands and sneaks in a quick uppercut. Thats the end of the round.
This round sounded closer than it really was. Sales was really trying to out-work McNeeley but ended up looking stupid with all of his missed punches. McNeeley landed 31 to Sales' 22. One could make an argument for Sales because of his work rate, but McNeeley landed more, harder shots.
10-9 McNeeley
*****I got it 60-54 McNeeley halfway through. Sales is looking better as the fight goes on, but McNeeley really hasn't started to fade yet as far as I can tell.
Round 7:
They both slowly make their way to the center of the ring. Sales quickly lands one to the head and then the body. Neither had much on it. Sales doesn't have any power left. He is also keeping his hands low. He can't hold them up. This could be dangerous. Sales tries to clinch but McNeeley is pushing him away. Sales lands a nice combination. McNeeley is throwing big shots but they aren't even close. Sales is just setting back now and countering all of McNeeley's big shots. Both fighters are sucking all the oxygen out of the arena. They are winded to say the least.
Sales tries to sneak another combination in, but McNeeley slips them all. McNeeley comes back with a couple of huge shots of his own. McNeeley tries to load up on another big shot, but Sales avoids it.
McNeeley with a huge uppercut. Sales is hurt. He is circling McNeeley. McNeeley can't catch up to him. Sales finally settles in his own corner. McNeeley tries to move in, but he's not leading himself in with punches. Sales fires some jabs off of McNeeley's face. McNeeley tries to throw some of his own, but they are all blocked. Thats the bell, end of round 7.
Looks like Sales has finally won a round. I wouldn't say he won it big, and some judges might go right ahead and give this one to McNeeley, but in my book he outworked McNeeley. He set back for the first half of the fight and was countering every shot McNeeley through at him. He got hurt later in the fight, but managed to bounce right back and regain control of the round at the end.
10-9 Sales
Round 8:
McNeeley comes right out this round and is trying to re-install his jab into this round. Sales won't be able to get into range if McNeeley keeps working the jab like this. Sales is trying to swing but that jab keeps cutting him off. McNeeley clinches to catch his breath.
They break and McNeeley backs into a corner. This may be a first for this fight. McNeeley seems to be trapped. Sales scores with a nice uppercut. McNeeley is coming in low and gets caught with a headlock. The ref is quick to jump in and break this up. Sales is now scoring with a nice jab. Now there is a hook of the body of McNeeley. Both fighters clinch. McNeeley scores with a hook to the body but misses with a second one. Sales backs off and comes in with a nice head feint. He finds an opening, BIG HOOK TO THE HEAD. THAT STOPS MCNEELEY COLD.
Sales is trying to follow it up, but can't find his range. McNeeley comes back with a left to the head and then one to the body. Sales tries to come inside, but McNeeley smothers him. They separate and Sales tries a straight right. McNeeley blocks it. He tries to come in and they bump heads, he lands a big uppercut on Sales' chin. Sales backs off and the round comes to an end.
This round is a really hard one to score. Neither really took control. The first minute belonged to McNeeley and his jab. Sales rocked McNeeley in the second minute, and the third minute was back in forth. Seems as even of a round as they come.
10-10 Even
Round 9:
The fighters come out quickly, much to my suprise. McNeeley quickly fires off some punches. They don't find their mark. Sales lands a quick uppercut. Not much on that one. They clinch to catch thier breath. McNeeley with a big hook. Sales is stumbling backwards....
...but he remains on his feet. I'm shocked McNeeley isn't moving in for the kill. He must really not have much left. Sales seems to have regained some of his barings as he sneaks an uppercut in on McNeeley. McNeeley jumps back. He's not happy about something. The ref is giving Sales a warning for headbutting. The action resumes and the two fighters begin to measure each other. Sales tries to come inside, but McNeeley smothers him. They back off and McNeeley wings a right cross. Not much on that one either. Sales tries to get an uppercut, but it doesn't get in, McNeeley tries one of his own and it lands flush on Sales' chin.
Sales has a vacant look in his eyes. He is hurt bad for the second time this round. McNeeley's not going for the kill again. He has no killer instinct. This could end up hurting him in this fight. All it takes is one punch to push this fight in the other direction. McNeeley seems to be trying to measure up Sales, but Sales wings out a cross. Nothing on it, but it seems to back McNeeley up a little bit. Sales with the jab. Both fighters back up and McNeeley gets some solid blows in. They move to the middle of the ring and nothing much happens as the ring bell signals the end of the round.
Another solid round for McNeeley. He really needed this one of the last two rounds. I have to wonder about his unwillingness to go for the kill. This shows me he is far from a complete fighter, but that is another story.
10-9 McNeeley
Round 10:
These guys don't look too good coming out for round 10. I expect to see someone hit the canvas before the end of this one. McNeeley tries to move to the inside to start the round, but Sales is using the jab. He really wants to fight from the outside. Sales loads up on a shot, but misses wide. McNeeley is working his jab now. There isn't much power at all behind them. McNeeley is blocked in his own corner. Sales throws a big overhand right. McNeeley is able to duck under it. They work into a clinch.
Sales backs off and McNeeley gives chase. Sales is on the ropes. McNeeley throws a nice combination out there. A couple get through. McNeeley is missing with all of his shots now. Neither fighter has made a claim on this round yet as we head to the final minute.
McNeeley is trying for the uppercut, but Sales has it defended well. He comes back with an uppercut of his own. I can't tell if McNeeley is hurt or not. They clinch. McNeeley breaks and comes back in. He lands a nice hook to the body. Sales moves into a vacant corner. McNeeley is throwing and throwing punches but they aren't finding their mark. Another clinch and this is a long one. The ref is trying to break them up....but the round ends. WOW, what the hell was that, looked like a 15 second hug. Very slow round.
Not much to say about this round. The two guys seem gassed at this point. I am still calling for a knockdown, and probably a knockout before the end of this one. If not, we're in for 2 ugly, ugly rounds.
10-10 Even
Round 11:
They come out slowly for round 11. Neither looks like they really want to get in the other persons grasp. Now they take a step back....they aren't even close to each other. Now they move in. They appear to be measuring each other, but I'm pretty sure they are just exhausted. McNeeley fires off a shot, but it goes behind Sales' head. Sales lands a nice jab, but doesn't follow it up with anything. They clinch. McNeeley is holding Sales' arms. The ref is trying to break them up.
They get broken up. Both fighters throw shots at the same time. McNeeley's hook gets in over Sales' jab. Sales with a sharp right. Neither guy is hurting the other. McNeeley is holding Sales. The ref breaks them up, but there is blood. Looks like a headbutt. McNeeley's nose is bleeding pretty bad. It may be broke. No warning is given. It must have been ruled accidental. Sales is moving in for the kill with a hook and an uppercut. Sales with a nice combination of punches.
Sales with a big time uppercut from way out. IT LANDS. WOW. Sales has showed up big time this round. McNeeley is throwing punches back. They are going toe to toe in the center of the ring. McNeeley is getting the bad end of this exchange. They are both exhausted and lean on each other. McNeeley has Sales tied up as time expires in round 11.
What a big round for Sales. By far his best of the night. He landed 35 more punches this round than McNeeley. Sales is coming on strong at the end here, but it may be too late. I'm still calling for this fight to end by knockout.
10-9 Sales
Round 12:
I got the fight scored 108-103 for McNeeley at this point. Sales is coming on strong and may get desparate here. He definately needs a knockout to win.
McNeeley's corner did a good job between rounds and his nose is no longer bleeding. Must not be broken after all. The fighters come out slowly. McNeeley is the first to act this round. He throws a double jab, but neither land. Sales comes back by throwing a serious combination. He connects with 8 STRAIGHT PUNCHES. The both seem like they wanna fight from the inside now as the space between them dries up to nothing. McNeeley with a quick hook to the body and then the head. Sales backs off and into a vacant corner.
McNeeley goes left and right to the head. McNeeley with a huge uppercut. Sales needs out of this corner. McNeeley with a short hook to the chest. He's really working hard this round. What a nice combination by McNeeley, Sales looks hurt. He tries to tie McNeeley up, but a quick shoulder puts an end to that.
McNeeley lets Sales out of the corner for the last 30 seconds of the fight. They begin to circle each other. Both fighter are very active now. They are both lobbing punches. Sales appears to hurt again, he backs into his own corner. Here comes McNeeley for the kill but the bell sounds. Thats the end of the fight.
Very solid round here to close the fight for McNeeley. He didn't need this round but won it anyway. As a side note looks like I was wrong about the knockout.
10-9 McNeeley
I score it 118-112 for McNeeley. I don't see anyway the judges can give this to Sales.
Winner:
The Judges have tallied their scorecards......
Uriel Aguilera scores it 117-112
Joes Cobian scores it 117-112
Jorge Velasco scores it 118-111

I really don't know what to make of these guys yet. They both have plenty of power. If either of them make it past round 1 they will be in unexplored territory here. I wish I knew more about these guys, I may be able to give a better preview.

1. José González Sales W unanamious decision Rd. 12/12
My Thoughts:
Both these fighters have a full 12 rounds of work under their belt. Assumeing we see the same exact fighters we saw last time I say McNeeley gets knocked out late in the fight. Cleveland Williams was still very strong late in his fight against David Bostice. His punches were still snapping and he was hurting Bostice. McNeeley was hurt late in his fight against José González Sales.
In order for Tom McNeeley to win this fight he needs to play much better defense. This may mean pacing himself. He isn't going to knock Cleveland Williams out early, so there is no point in throwing 250 punches in the first 3 rounds like he did against Sales. Williams is definately a tough match-up for him.
Cleveland Williams just needs to ride the early onslaught that Tom McNeeley through at José González Sales. After McNeeley punches himself out he can jump right in and knock him out, or win the late rounds. Cleveland Williams, from what I've seen, is a much better fighter than Sales.
My pick is Cleveland Williams by KO late.

My Thoughts:
The number one thing that comes to my mind is that Benny Ross just doesn't have what it takes to last long at this level. I know that both guys went down in the first round, but Benny was on his back after just 2 punches. I seriously doubt that Al Migliorato can match that, but I don't expect to see Benny win this fight. As I've already said with one other fight, I haven't seen enough of these guys to break this fight down any further.

Last 5 Fights
1. Tom McNeeley L unanimous decision Rd. 12/12
My Thoughts:
Bostice really has no power. He showed that in his last fight against Williams, when even in the early going he had nothing on any of his shots. I honestly believe that José González Sales could still win this tournament. He just got a bad first round draw against a guy that started the fight off really fast. With that being said lets get to the breakdown for each fighter.
David Bostice needs to realize that he isn't a power puncher. He was at his best against Cleveland Williams when he was on his toes using his jab to set up combinations. He doesn't need to load up for big shots, just to stick and move. He seemed to want to start off a round on his toes and control it and then switch to a flat footed style and get rocked. He can't do that again. If he does he will lose simple as that. I don't believe he will get knocked out, however, he showed a very strong chin. Williams was hitting him hard, even late in the fight.
Which José González Sales will show up? The one that started the McNeeley fight by getting completely overwhelmed? Or the one that controlled that same fight toward the end? Sales is a boxer, first and foremost, although he did show flashes of power. For an easy win, he needs to convince Bostice to chase him. Make Bostice fight flat footed, and then just rock him. It would also be a huge display of his power potential if he can score a knockout here.
I'm picking Sales here. Bostice will be good fighter only when he learns not to fight flat footed. Too bad for him he is forced to chase Sales around the ring. Sales wears him out, and takes the bounce out of Bostice's step. This makes him an easy sitting target. Sales takes the decision.

***First off I am going to be changing my format a little bit. This has become alot of typing and thinking, especially with McNeeley-Sales taking me close to 3 hours to complete. With that in mind I will continue to recap each round and provide my thoughts and my score card, however it will not be blow for blow like the past fights. I simply do not wish to spend 3 hours on each fight recapping it. It's not progressing very quickly anyway, I really want to see where this is going to go and get my boxing "universe" settled in. If I can find a quicker way to recap the fights blow for blow without just copying the in game text I will do so in the future. Hell I may even make it a point to do the title fights blow for blow[not sure yet]. As a note I decided to make this change after round 6. It took me close to 2 hours to get through the first 6 rounds of this fight. This new format should allow for me to complete 10 fights in the time that it now takes me to do one. I think the choice is obvious.

Conditioning:
Courtney enters the ring in perfect shape; he appears to be finely tuned for this fight.
Kohlbrecher appears to be in great condition; he looks like he's come to fight.
Round 1:
The two fighters come right out to the center of the ring. Seems like they will waste no time trying to find an opening. Courtney starts firing away with the jab. They are getting through. Kohlbrecher backs away. Courtney is pressuring him. Kohlbrecher sneaks his way out of the corner. Courtney almost had him trapped there.
Kohlbrecher swings and misses. Courtney counters with a big overhand right, it lands, but not quite square. Kohlbrecher is swinging, but Peter Courtney is showing some great defense here. BIG cross by Kohlbrecher. That may be the first shot he has gotten through this whole round. He follows right up with a big combination to the head and body. Courtney backs off, Kohlbrecher follows him in. Courtney may be trapped.
Kohlbrecher unleashes a flurry...none of them get through. SMASHING CROSS BY COURTNEY. KOHLBRECHER IS STAGGERING. He was so worried about trying to finish it here in round one that he wasn't even covering up and that one caught him right on the jaw. Courtney tries to move in but Kohlbrecher lands a GREAT HOOK. Courtney falls back onto the ropes. They really saved him there. No knockdown is ruled. Big followup uppercut by Kohlbrecher lands from way outside. Kohlbrecher is moving in, but Courtney ties him up. And that is the end of round one.
WOW, that is probably the best round in the history of our young league. Both guys had chances to finish the fight here. These may very well be the two favorites to win the whole tournament. I can't say enough about the power of Kohlbrecher to be stummbling backwards and still land a hook that sends a man falling onto the ropes. As far as scoring that round.....it has to go to Kohlbrecher. He threw and landed more punches. A knockdown should have been ruled when Courtney fell onto the ropes, but he did a good job to bounce back and take the uppercut that followed in stride.
10-9 Kohlbrecher
Round 2:
Courtney is showing no signs of the shot that sent him onto the ropes last round. He looks as fresh as when the fight started. Kohlbrecher wants to stay on the outside, Courtney is being forced to chase him. He seems to be trapped in a corner. Courtney moves in. Courtney with a big right cross. Courtney backs off, it appears he wants to hit and move. Thats a smart plan to avoid the power Kohlbrecher has displayed. Courtney is on the ropes, Kohlbrecher muscles his way inside, way off with a hook to the head. Courtney slides over to the corner, Kohlbrecher follows as he misses with some jabs and straights.
Kohlbrecher moves in, he is really trying to get some shots in from the inside. The two guys are leaning on each other. Courtney grabs hold and it's a clinch. The ref moves in to break them up. BIG, STRONG UPPERCUT by Kohlbrecher. Courtney is a little hurt, but Kohlbrecher isn't trying to press anything after he got caught last round going for the kill.
Courtney tries to get the jab going, but Kohlbrecher is avoiding it. Courtney with a sneaky right. Kohlbrecher backs off, they are moving around the ring. Big cross for Peter Courtney. Kohlbrecher comes right back with a solid combination of his own. Courtney backs off into a corner and thats the end of round two.
This was a hard round to call. Neither guy really did a whole bunch of anything. Each guy was able to match what the other did. No real combinations, and I'm not convinced either guy was ever REALLY hurt this round. As far the punching totals go, they favor Courtney 21-14 this time, but I'm not still not convinced.
10-10 Even
Round 3:
Kohlbrecher didn't even sit down in the corner between rounds. He can't wait to meet Courtney in the middle of the ring. Kohlbrecher comes right out and lands a nice right cross, set up perfectly by his jabs. Courtney doesn't want Kohlbrecher this close, as he is pushing him away. Kohlbrecher finds a big opening, but can't connect.
The fighters get tangled up on the inside. Kohlbrecher has a hand free and lands a solid uppercut. Courtney gets free and backs off. He is trapped in a corner. Kohlbrecher moves in, he is putting all his weight on Courtney to wear him out. Courtney breaks free. He throws some jabs, but they come up short. They measure each other up, Courtney with some nice jabs that sneak in.
Kohlbrecher with a brutal volley of shots that miss. Courtney was already moving by the time Kohlbrecher started throwing them. Big hook to the body by Courtney. He tries to double up, but Kohlbrecher blocks the second one. Big Time straight right by Kohlbrecher. Courtney is hurt, he retreats into the near corner. Kohlbrecher moves in, cross, uppercut, hook. All blocked. Courtney is really protecting himself here. Kohlbrecher only has 8 seconds to finish him off with. He loads up on a big hook, but it doesn't get through. Thats the end of round three.
Another round, another win for Kohlbrecher. It was pretty close untill the end when he landed the big straight right. Courtney really needs to get going here. While he hasn't technically lost every round, he hasn't really won one yet either. This round was his for the taking and he just wouldn't push the action. I'm interested to see what happens if Kohlbrecher really gets hit, we've seen Courtney's chin so far, we really have seen what Kohlbrecher's chin is like.
10-9 Kohlbrecher
Round 4:
Courtney looks really ready for this round to start. Whatever went on in his corner appears to have him pumped up. I'm curious to see what kind of effect it has on him this round. Kohlbrecher appears confused as well. He isn't sure if he wants to move right in and slug, or stay on the outside and box. Kohlbrecher tries to move to the inside, but Courtney pushes him back out, not a single punch thrown in the first 30 seconds of this round. Now Courtney is moving in, Kohlbrecher catches him with an uppercut, but Courtney comes right back with a right cross.
Kohlbrecher with a lead right, catches nothing. The two fighters are really going at it now. Kohlbrecher is getting the better end of this exchange, but it is close. Courtney backs off, but comes right back in. Big Straight right from Kohlbrecher. Now a cross. Courtney is bleeding from under his right eye. Courtney answers with a cross of his own. Not much heat on that punch. Kohlbrecher is backing up. Courtney giving chase. A HUGE CROSS FROM COURTNEY. That is the best punch from either guy so far this round.
Kohlbrecher works his way free. He doesn't want any part of this. Kohlbrecher is trying to use his jab as a defensive tool, but it isn't working. Courtney misses with a jab of his own, but a crushing two hook combo lands. Kohlbrecher pushes a jab out there as the bell sounds. That's the end of round four.
Despite being cut out there, Courtney did enough to win this round. This was also he first real display of power since the first round. My only real fear is that a judge sees blood and overlooks that fact that Courtney was never really hurt by the shot the opened the wound. This fight may go down to the wire, and be really close at that.
10-9 Courtney
Round 5:
Courtney's cut man managed to stop the bleeding between rounds. I doubt it will affect the outcome of this fight at all. It's not really in a bad spot. Both fighters come out of their corners quick. They meet in the center of the ring. Quick uppercut from Kohlbrecher. Neither fighter is really backing off, but neither is pushing the action here in the fifth. Kohlbrecher lands a big right hook. Courtney is stunned. Kohlbrecher follows up with a nice combination. Nothing gets through. Courtney with some nice defensive jabs, they land and back Kohlbrecher off.
Kohlbrecher is moving back in, but Courtney ties him up. Courtney with weak shots to the body and side of the face. They break. Kohlbrecher is trying to corner Courtney, looks like he has done it. Kohlbrecher moves in, lobbing shots every which way. This isn't the way to beat Courtney. He's too good of a defensive fighter. Nothing gets through. Courtney with a nice shot, Kohlbrecher lands a counter. Courtney's shot had more on it. Nice uppercut from Kohlbrecher.
Courtney is forced into his corner. Kohlbrecher is getting wild again. He's being very aggresive, but he needs to pick his shots. He isn't in there with Benny Ross. This guy can defend himself. More shots from Kohlbrecher that don't land. Both fighters are bobbing their heads and feinting. This is how Kohlbrecher needs to try and get shots in, and he connects with a hook to Courtney's head. Kohlbrecher takes a step back, fires, nothing getting in. Courtney puts together a nice little combination of punches. Kohlbrecher goes to shoulder fakes, but won't get another punch off, thats the end of round 5.
Kohlbrecher takes this round, but he really needs to pace himself. I fear he is punching himself out. This really was closer than it probably sounded, mainly because Courtney landed a much higher percentage of his shots here. If Kohlbrecher doesn't get himself under control he may find himself on the mat sometime soon. As a side note, the more I see of Wilson Kohlbrecher the more he reminds me of Tom McNeeley. Kind of has me want to see the two fight later in this tournament.
10-9 Kohlbrecher
Round 6:
Both fighters look ready for round six and here they come. Courtney tries to be the aggresor by throwing crosses and hooks early in the round. Kohlbrecher doesn't really have them defended very well, but they miss anyway. Quick hook from Kohlbrecher finds its mark. Courtney is hurt. He's trying to run away, but Kohlbrecher is staying right on top him. Courtney's back hits the ropes and he throws his arms out at Kohlbrecher, he manages to tie him up.
The ref separates the two fighters. Courtney runs away again and into his own corner. Kohlbrecher comes in working his jab. Courtney is trying to fight back, but is having a hard time finding the right range with his punches. Courtney is still trying the jab...Kohlbrecher goes right over top of it with a big right. Kohlbrecher is trying to move in closer, big uppercut from Courtney. Kohlbrecher is going to need to regroup after that huge shot.
Courtney is now the aggresor. He connects with some jabs. The jabs lead to a big right cross. Kohlbrecher turns with that shot, so it really wasn't as damaging as it could have been. The two fighters back away from each other as the round comes to an end.
Hard, Hard round to call. Both fighters had control of it at one point or another. I give the edge to Kohlbrecher, he landed more shots while he had control.
10-9 Kohlbrecher
****Halfway I have it scored 59-56 for Kohlbrecher
Round 7:
Really an interesting round. Kohlbrecher came out slow. His punches had no zip on them and he was completely dominated. It seems just like Tom McNeeley before him, he has completely punched himself out. Courtney never really hurt Kohlbrecher here but landed with 48 shots to Kohlbrecher's 11. If Kohlbrecher had really been hurt here I may go 10-8, as is its....
10-9 Courtney
Round 8:
The unthinkable happened just 40 seconds into this round. Just when everyone thought Kohlbrecher had punched himself out he sends Courtney down with a monster hook. Courtney answered the count at 9. He wasn't in good shape as he got up, but was able to cover up and survive the onslaught. As the round grew to an end, Courtney took complete control. He opened a cut over Kohlbrecher's left eye and caused some noticable swelling. Other than the knockdown you may be able to make an arguement for Courtney, I however will not. It should be noted that my card has Courtney behind 78-74 with just four rounds remaining.
10-8 Kohlbrecher
Round 9:
It may be time for Peter Courtney to start to panic. Kohlbrecher did just enough to win this round. He started off fast working from the outside. The middle of the round, Peter Courtney scored with some combinations, but Kohlbrecher came right back at the end, almost sending Courtney back to the mat with a huge uppercut. Kohlbrecher's cut was closed between the rounds.
10-9 Kohlbrecher
Round 10:
This round started off back and forth. About halfway through the round Courtney landed a big hook to the body that sent Kohlbrecher on his back. He was up at the count of 8. Kohlbrecher got up and was on the defensive. Courtney got plenty of shots in there, but nothing else that really hurt Kohlbrecher. This round was really one-sided in favor of Courtney. It should be noted that a cut of unknown origin was opened over Peter Courtney's left eye. It was not opened by a punch, but no one saw a headbutt either. He kept wiping blood out of his eye, this could come into play in the final two rounds.
10-8 Courtney
Round 11:
Slowest round of the fight by far. Peter Courtney just blew his chance to get back in this fight. His cut may have effected him however, as it was not closed between rounds. No big shots landed and barely any punches landed period, by either fighter. Kohlbrecher was the more active of the two, however, and gets the round.
10-9 Kohlbrecher
****I got it 106-102 for Wilson Kohlbrecher heading into the last round. He pretty much needs a knockout.
Round 12:
Courtney came out of his corner with his cut still bleeding. He really needs to find a new cutman. This was a pretty good round for Courtney as he almost got his knockout halfway through with a big uppercut. He couldn't quite finish however. He outlanded Kohlbrecher over 2-1 this round.
10-9 Courtney
***I got it 115-112. The Punching totals are going to say Courtney, but they are missleading. He had a couple big rounds, including one in which he landed over 50 punches. The decision almost has to go to Wilson Kohlbrecher.
Winner:
The Judges have tallied their scorecards......
Fred Steinwinder scores it 116-111...
Dick Young has it 116-111...
George Smith scores the bout 116-111....
For your winner by unanimous decision...
Wilson Kohlbrecher
Punch Stats
Peter Courtney: 280/668 41.9%
Wilson Kohlbrecher: 238/887 25.9%
Last Thoughts:
I told you that the punching totals would say Courtney. In the end I feel that the judges got the decision right, although I had it a little closer. Wilson Kohlbrecher is one step closer to an automatic spot in the finals of this tournament, while Peter Courtney now has to wade through the losers bracket. I would love to see a rematch between these two.

1. José González Sales W unanamious decision Rd. 12/12
Conditioning:
Williams appears to be in great condition; he looks like he's come to fight.
Tom McNeeley trained hard and he's chafing at the bit, waiting for this fight to begin.
Round 1:
Cleveland Williams really came out of the gate fast charging right in. McNeeley was in control early, working the jab and moving away. Once he tried to move inside, he really felt the power that Cleveland Williams has, as he was rocked with an uppercut and some nice combinations. McNeeley came back at the end of the round, however, to force the tie. McNeeley really does seem to be pacing himself better here than in the Sales fight.
10-10 Even
Round 2:
McNeeley really shows his great chin here as he was hurt bad four different times this round. Williams probably had one of the most dominate first minutes to a round that we've ever experienced, rocking McNeeley with over 30 shots in the opening minute, He also managed to open a cut over McNeeley's left eye. He hurt McNeeley 3 other times in the final two minutes of the round but really didn't put his shots together very well. Don't get the wrong idea though, even though he clearly lost the round, Tom McNeeley didn't lay down. He got some good uppercuts in and worked some nice combinations. These guys are really going toe to toe, McNeeley just doesn't have Williams' power. If they keep standing toe to toe McNeeley is going to get hurt bad.
10-9 Williams
Round 3:
Believe it or not McNeeley comes out for this round not only with his cut still bleeding, but he's also fatigued already. You can guess what this leads to. Another big round for Cleveland Williams. He is controlling this fight in the early goings. McNeeley really hasn't been very active, which is a complete 180 from his last fight.
10-9 Williams
Round 4:
McNeeley is still bleeding. Less than 20 seconds into the round Williams lands a crushing shot to McNeeley's ribcage that sends him to his knees. He is up at a 7 count. Williams moved in for the kill at this point and scored another knockdown late in the round. McNeeley was up at the count of 5 this time. It's really hard to put Cleveland Williams' power into words. He is really hurting Tom McNeeley here, a guy that has the reputation of having a chin of stone.
10-7 Williams
Round 5:
Really fun round here. Neither guy was putting much together, just loading up on big shots. Lots of headhunting. McNeeley actually won the first half of the round, although it was very close. The second half, however, was very one sided for Williams. McNeeley could have actually went down several times late in this round. McNeeley's wound is still bleeding.
10-9 Williams
Round 6:
Someone in McNeeley's corner needs to do their job and get this cut closed. The blood is starting to get into his eye. This was really a hard round to watch. McNeeley is really getting rocked out there. He's protecting his body and leaving his head wide open, and getting beaten badly in the process. It may be time for someone to step in, or throw in the towel.
10-9 Williams
****I have the fight scored 60-53 in favor of Cleveland Williams at the halfway point of this fight. I really hope, for McNeeley's sake, his corner doesn't let this go the distance. They need to get him out of there.
Round 7:
The first half of this round Cleveland Williams really wasn't doing much of anything. It was almost like he didn't want to hurt McNeeley. That all changed once McNeeley got a good uppercut in though. Williams dropped McNeeley with a hook to the midsection with a little over a minute to go in the round. McNeeley was up at the count of 4. After McNeeley got up to his feet he turned into a punching bag. Really a shame the ref let the fight continue even though McNeeley wasn't even defending himself the last 30 seconds of this round. How long will this be allowed to continue? This is the kind of fight that shortens a career.
10-8 Williams
Round 8:
McNeeley's cut is finally closed, at this point he'll take all the good news he can get. McNeeley really bounced back the first part of this round. He was really putting together some combinations, and while not hurting Williams, he was winning the round on the scorecards.....and then disaster. Williams catches McNeeley with a hook on the chin and he goes down. He can't answer the count and thats the fight.
Winner:
At the end of round 8, the winner by knockout.....
Cleveland Williams
Punch Stats
Cleveland Williams: 204/505 40.4%
Tom McNeeley: 137/293 46.8%
Last Thoughts:
Cleveland Williams was just dominating in this fight. I had him up 70-61, all three judges had it 69-61. Tom McNeeley went down 4 times this fight.
Cleveland Williams' performance here makes him the obvious favorite. He will face Wilson Kohlbrecher in the finals of the winners bracket. The winner of that fight automatically moves to the tournament finals where they will have to be defeated twice to lose the tournament. I hate to look ahead to that fight too soon but......I've made the comparison between Tom McNeeley and Wilson Kohlbrecher since the first time I seen the two fight. If Cleveland Williams dominated McNeeley like this, why would the next fight be any different? The only stopping block could be that Kohlbrecher has a little more power than McNeeley.
Tom McNeeley moves into the losers bracket. He will face the winner between Benny Ross and Al Migliorato. That will be a good chance for McNeeley to get some confidence back after this humiliation. He should be able to beat either one of those two guys, they both have shown VERY weak chins.

Conditioning:
Migliorato is always on call and you have to wonder how good he might be if he ever had the proper amount of time to train.
Ross appears to be in great condition; he looks like he's come to fight.
Round 1:
Prehaps I stand corrected. I predicted Migliorato to win this fight and said that Benny Ross doesn't belong fighting at this level, however he completely overwhelmed Migliorato here. Migliorato didn't even land a single punch. Benny Ross doesn't seem to have much power, but was dominate here.
10-9 Ross
Round 2:
Different story in round two than in round one. Migliorato came out here with intentions of hurting Benny Ross and he suceeded. He stunned him with an uppercut early in the round and again with a straight right late in the round. Benny Ross got some shots in, but not nearly enough to be able to make an argument for the round.
10-9 Migliorato
Round 3:
A back and forth round here. Neither guy really hurting the other. Al Migliorato was the more active of the two and seems to have one this round. At this point I don't really think either of these guys are a serious threat to come back and win this tournament.
10-9 Migliorato
Round 4:
Slow round. Neither guy really worked hard. Migliorato is completely gassed. Benny Ross doesn't have much left on his punches. The real kicker is we still have 8 rounds left to go. This is going to be painful to watch. Benny Ross wins this round by default. Migliorate didn't really show up at all here.
10-9 Ross
Round 5:
Big round for Migliorato here. Benny Ross just stood still and allowed Migliorato to bounce punches off his face. Migliorato was too tired to really hurt Ross.
10-9 Migliorato
Round 6:
This round starts off pretty much like round four. The guys start off very slow, neither one working hard at all. Benny Ross catches Al Migliorato with a big uppercut and he goes down with under a minute left in the round. Migliorato makes his way back to his feet at the count of 8. Ross tried to move in for the kill, but Migliorato was covering up pretty well, not allowing anything in. The knockdown really came as a suprise to me. This was Benny Ross's first display of power in his short career. Before this point he had never even so much as hurt anyone, let alone sent them down to the convas. Its hard to tell if this is a sign of Ross having some power he wasn't showing before, or just confermation that Migliorato has a chin made of glass.
10-8 Ross
*****My scorecard has Benny Ross leading a close fight 57-56.
Round 7:
Another slow round here. The first two minutes was just a big clinch and stall fest. Benny Ross takes the round by putting together combinations late in round and really working the body.
10-9 Ross
Round 8:
Migliorato refuses to give up as he comes out and staggers Benny Ross early, almost sending him to the mat. The rest of the round was pretty much back and forth, however Migliorato wins it, on the near knockdown alone. Migliorato may be gassed, but the last thing you lose is your power, and he still has some left.
10-9 Migliorato
Round 9:
Benny Ross really came out fast this round. He was on the attack the whole round. The didn't really connect with a high percentage of his shots, but he was constantly throwing, never giving Migliorato a chance. If Migliorato is going to have a chance in this fight, he needs to REALLY attack the body next round. This will take the legs away from Ross and give him a chance to get a knockout here late in the fight. It is time for Migliorato to get serious in there. After this round I have him down 86-84 with just three rounds remaining.
10-9 Ross
Round 10:
The tenth round was a dominate one for Benny Ross. Al Migliorato has nothing left in the tank at this point. If Ross has any power left he will stop Migliorato before this goes to the cards. Migliorato isn't holding his gloves up, nor is he moving at all. He's become a stationary target and has nothing left on his punches. Ross's lead is pretty safe at this point.
10-9 Ross
Round 11:
At one point during this round the announcer made the following comment. "The weigh-ins were more exciting than what we have seen so far this round." I must say I agree with him 100%. The fighters combined to connect with less than 20 total punches and neither guy was very active at all. The completely gassed Al Migliorato was able to step in and steal this round by just being the more active of the two, which isn't saying much.
10-9 Migliorato
*****My scorecard says 105-103 for Benny Ross. Migliorato still has a good shot to win this, all he has to do is drop Ross. Hell, if he just wins the round, anything could happen on the judges cards. This fight really isn't as close as the scorecards would state, mainly because when Ross wins a round, he wins it BIG, when Migliorato wins a round its more of a judgement call.
Round 12:
This was the round that Al Migliorato really needed to even have a chance at this fight and he responded by.............getting completely destroyed. Ross nearly knocked him down halfway through the round with a big uppercut. He actually suceeded in knocking him to the canvas at the very in of the round with a huge cross. Migliorato was able to answer the count and be on his feet at 7. This was Ross's best round of the fight, without the knockdown an argument could have been made to call it 10-8, with the knock it is unquestionably....
10-8 Ross
*****My final scorecard is 115-111 Benny Ross. I can see no way a judge could make the argument that Al Migliorato won this fight. It would boggle the mind. With that said lets listen to the decision.
Winner:
The Judges have tallied their scorecards......
Donald Balas score the bout 115-111...
Bruce McTavish has it 114-112...
Gus Mercurio scores the bout 114-112...
For your winner by unanimous decision...
Benny Ross
Punch Stats
Al Migliorato: 186/615 30.2%
Benny Ross: 301/962 31.3%
Final Thoughts:
Benny Ross really dominated this fight and should have won the bout by more than just 2 points. This was clearly his fight, however he took too many rounds off and allowed Migliorato to pick them up narrowly. Two of the judges actually had the fight tied going into the final round of the fight[104-104, I find this really hard to believe], which they had to score 10-8. He needs to improve his consistency if he is going to have any staying power in the heavyweight division.
Al Migliorato is eliminated from this tournament. This is his second loss in as many career fights. He may want to rethink things. It will be interesting to see where he goes from here.
Benny Ross will be matched up against Tom McNeeley in another elimination bout next round. McNeeley will be a very tough match-up for Ross. If he can land 300+ shots against McNeeley he'll have a shot....although I'm not convinced he will last that long. One thing is for sure, he won't be able to completely take rounds off against McNeeley like he did here tonight against Migliorato. There is a big difference in the quality of fighter there.

1. Tom McNeeley L unanimous decision Rd. 12/12
Conditioning:
David Bostice looks ready to go; he's obviously trained hard for this bout.
Sales appears to be in great condition; he looks like he's come to fight.
Round 1:
A really nice first round for David Bostice. He was really throwing some big shots in there, too bad none of them really hurt Sales. Despite all of that Bostice really controlled this round, he has the more active fighter. Slow starting may be a theme for Sales. He really needs to pick things up in round two, he can't afford to lose the opening six rounds of this fight like he did when he fought Tom McNeeley.
10-9 Bostice
Round 2:
Huge round for Sales. He really executed his game plan here. He worked the body early in the round and when Bostice slowed a little he circled him and really pounded away. Sales landed 45 shots this round compared to Bostice's 12. I really thought at one point that ref was just a step away from jumping in and ruling that Bostice wasn't defending himself. Sales also displayed some power here, stunning Bostice twice, once with a quick uppercut and once with a huge ripping hook to the body.
10-9 Sales
Round 3:
Sales completely controlled the beginning of this round. Pretty much picking up where he left off last round, however about halfway through Bostice began to work the jab and then move. This worked pretty well for him as he won the last minute of the fight easily, however I can't overlook the first half and must give this one to Sales.
I look for round four to set the pace for the rest of the fight. If Sales can come out and control the round he should win this one pretty easy. If Bostice continues to stick and move this one could get interesting.
10-9 Sales
Round 4:
The beginning of this round really looked even.....for about 40 seconds anyway. About the 40 second mark Sales landed a huge shot under Bostice's ribcage. The force of the shot sent Bostice crumbling to the canvas. He was able to answer the count at 3. He obviously wasn't that hurt, but he spent the rest of the round covering up.
Really a great round for Sales as he takes complete control of the fight. I'm not sure how Bostice recovers for this round, although I think he is clearly outclassed in the ring right now.
10-8 Sales
Round 5:
Round five is without a doubt the hardest round to judge up to this point in the fight. Sales was caught in his corner early in the round allowing Bostice to tee off on him. Once he was free, it was pretty much same story different round with Bostice standing stationary and Sales circling. At this point Bostice should have been toast, but he actually was scoring with alot of shots. A very back and forth round, all that said I give the benefit of the doubt to Bostice for his work early in the round.
Bostice really rebounds nicely here. I had him pegged dead in the water but he was able to trap Sales in a corner and cut off his lateral movement. It may have been a one time fluke, but Bostice actually won this round. I'll reserve judgement on his actual chances untill I see him make an effort to not stand still once they start trading punches.
10-9 Bostice
Round 6:
A really dominate round for Sales. He was never trapped in a corner and really went to work. When all the dust had settled David Bostice was leaning against the ropes to hold him up and had absorbed over 50 shots in this one round.
Sales comes right back here in dominate fashion. Bostice looked like a punching bag out there. He really needs to just drop the whole idea that he is a flat footed brawler. His only chance is to fight from the outside and use his reach advantage. He really has no knockout power, so that really isn't a viable option to get him out of the whole he has managed to dig himself here in the first half of the fight.
10-9 Sales
*****At the halfway point my scorecard reads 58-55 in favor of José González Sales
Round 7:
The early goings of this round was very back and forth. Around the halfway point something really got into Sales as he just unleashed a violent uppercut that had Bostice reeling. He moved in and unleashed combination after combination. Bostice remained on his feet, but he is obviously hurt.
I'm honestly interested in seeing how many shots Bostice has absorbed by the end of this fight, especially if it goes the distance. Sales has been VERY active this entire fight and I wouldn't be suprised to see him stop Bostice sometime sooner, rather than later.
10-9 Sales
Round 8:
Really a good comeback round for Bostice here. It seemed that Sales almost took this one "off" to more or less catch his breath. Neither man was very active here, but Bostice did just enough to carry the round.
I'll keep this short, I'm not conviced Bostice is going to be able to win this fight[even though he took this round]. I have him down 77-74 with just four rounds remaining. That means he has to take every single one of them to win, it's just not going to happen. The only reason he won this round is because Sales appeared to almost be catching his breath, more than likely gearing up for the final four rounds. That can only mean trouble for Bostice.
10-9 Bostice
Round 9:
Prehaps Sales wasn't gearing up for the last four rounds. He looked like a much different fighter out there this round. He has really faded since round 7. With that all being said up front, Sales did enough to carry this round. He looked better this round than last, but that was mainly a product of his really trying to win out there. Bostice stood toe to toe with Sales several times in here and came out ahead, but those were few and far between. Sales landed 24 shots to Bostice's 12. To add insult to all of this late in the round Bostice had a point deducted for hitting low.
This round was probably the nail in Bostice's coffin. I really don't think he has enough left to turn around the sinking ship that are his chances to win this fight.
10-8 Sales
Round 10:
As far as back and forth action is concerned this was the best round of the fight by far. Both guys were really active and landing a high percentage of their shots. This round was just too hard to call for me, I'm gonna have to rule with a draw.
Too little, too late for Bostice at this point, but atleast he isn't giving up. Neither guy really has much power left, so my best guess would be that this is going to go to the cards. As a side note I have it 97-92 for Sales with just two rounds remaining.
10-10 Even
Round 11:
Really good round for Bostice. He was able to control the whole thing by trapping Sales in a corner. Bostice, while not as effective as he was earlier in the fight, really was the more active fighter here. He outlanded Sales 5-1 here.
My scorecard has it 106-102 for Sales heading into the final round. Bostice is going to need a knockout, and I really don't see it.
10-9 Bostice
Round 12:
A rather dull way to end the fight with Bostice seemingly content to lose. Neither fighter forced the action here and despite being way up in the fight Sales was actually the more active fighter this round.
10-9 Sales
*****My final scorecard stands at 116-111 in favor of Sales. I can't even see a way anyone could possibly make an srgument for Bostice to win this fight. He was just completley overmatched in many rounds. On top of that he suffered a knockdown in round four and lost a point for a low blow in round nine.
Winner:
The Judges have tallied their scorecards...
Gelasio Perez-Huerte scores the bout 117-112...
John Parish Jr. has it 116-113...
Don Ackerman scores it 117-110...

David Bostice: 279/569 49%
José González Sales: 318/755 42.1%
Last Thoughts:
Four different scorecards, but all come to the same conclusion....It wasn't even close. This fight puts José González Sales right back into the hunt in this tournament.
David Bostice has now been eliminated from the tournament after suffering his second straight loss.
José González Sales will face Peter Courtney in a third round elimination bout. The two guys appear to be very similar fighters, and also very different from anything that either of them have faced so far. With that in mind I'll neglect to make a predition for the fight this early.

My Thoughts:
In picking he winner of this fight you need look no further than Cleveland William's fight against Tom McNeeley. Kohlbrecher is almost an exact copy of McNeeley. The only difference is that Kohlbrecher has a little more power. Cleveland Williams completely destroyed McNeeley, knocking him down four times in 8 rounds and winning by knockout.
Wilson Kohlbrecher needs to fight the exact same style as he has done in the past. I recommend that McNeeley pace himself, and he did, but everything he had saved up was beaten out of him. I believe that Kohlbrecher needs to come out fast and be the more active fighter. If he can hurt Williams early, he may be able to keep him off him long enough to win alot of rounds.
Cleveland Williams needs to fight the exact same fight he did against McNeeley. If Kohlbrecher decides to stand toe to toe with him, and I feel he will, it will be a very easy win for him. Cleveland Williams is my pick by KO, early.

Conditioning:
Kohlbrecher trained hard and he's chafing at the bit, waiting for this fight to begin.
Williams appears to be in great condition; he looks like he's come to fight.
Round 1:
Really not a close round at all. Williams put Kohlbrecher in a world of hurt EARLY in the round. This put Kohlbrecher in cover up mode the entire round. He was almost dropped several times out there. Williams landed 28 shots, many of them powerfull hooks and uppercuts. Kohlbrecher was on the defensive the entire round and never landed a single clean punch.
I hate to score the first round of the fight 10-8 without a knockdown, but I have no choice. Kohlbrecher is outmatched in the ring right now. One of his keys was to be very active early and he has failed miserably at that. His chin was tested and will be tested the entire fight, I must say so far it doesn't look good. He wasn't taking many shots in stride, he was being knocked backwards and all around the ring.
10-8 Williams
Round 2:
Very nice comeback round for Kohlbrecher here. He took some solid shots early, but didn't let them get to him and he even managed to come back and probably take the round. Kohlbrecher threw some great combinations and landed a big hook to the body that stunned Williams.
Wilson Kohlbrecher really looked good out there this round. This may be a closer fight than I gave it credit for. Kohlbrecher, while not as active as in past fights, threw alot of punches this round. While he doesn't want to punch himself out, I think he should be much more active in the coming rounds.
10-9 Kohlbrecher
Round 3:
The round started out very slowly, each fighter respecting the others power. About a minute in they decided to stand toe to toe in the middle of the ring. Williams landed a nice cross that really caught Kohlbrecher on the jaw, instead of running away and covering up, Kohlbrecher fired back with a brutal uppercut that hurt Williams. That was the last thing Wilson Kohlbrecher remembers as he caught one of the sickest looking overhand rights I've ever seen. Kohlbrecher went down and couldn't answer the count.
Winner:
The winner by knockout at the 1:13 mark in round number three...
Cleveland Williams
Punch Stats
Wilson Kohlbrecher: 27/110 24.5%
Cleveland Williams: 58/122 47.5%
Last Thoughts:
I knew coming into the fight that Wilson Kohlbrecher probably wasn't going to be able to beat Cleveland Williams[flashes of Williams dominating McNeeley, a very similar fighter to Kohlbrecher, were flashing through my head]. Still, I'm shocked at the sight of that knockout. That one punch may become the poster shot for Cleveland Williams' entire career. It should be noted that at the time of the knockout one judge had it 20-18, the other two had it 19-19.
Following this loss Wilson Kohlbrecher will be moved to the losers bracket, however he will not have to wade through it like people who have lost earlier bouts. Instead Wilson Kohlbrecher will automatically be placed in the finals of the bracket. He will face the last fighter standing out of Benny Ross, Tom McNeeley, José González Sales, and Peter Courtney for the right to fight in the finals of the entire tournament.
Cleveland Williams' next fight will be for the right to become number one contender for the DBC Heavyweight Championship. He will be paired up against the winner out of the losers bracket. The big advantage[besides not having to fight again untill the finals], is that whoever he faces will have to beat him twice in a row to win this, while he will only have to beat them once.

Conditioning:
Ross appears to be in great condition; he looks like he's come to fight.
McNeeley is taking a risk by agreeing to fight on such short notice.
Expanded Preview:
After seeing McNeeley isn't in really good shape entering the ring this opens the door for Benny Ross to steal this one. As long as he doesn't get caught with a huge shot and doesn't take rounds off like he did against Migliorato I think he has a good chance to win this one.
Round 1:
Great opening round to this fight. Benny Ross was getting inside, landing big punches and moving back out, protecting himself with his jab. He really looks like a complete fighter out there. Tom McNeeley struggled, coming out very slow. He picked the pace up toward the end of the round, but was never as effective as Ross.
Looks like I shouldn't have written Benny Ross off in my official preview. He has come to fight, and I'm not sure what McNeeley can do about it.
10-9 Ross
Round 2:
After a dominating first round Ross decided to take round two off. He not only didn't throw many punches, but didn't even want to play defense. This is precisely what Benny can't afford to do. If he takes many more rounds off against McNeeley he's going to get hurt. McNeeley showed this round he has the power to really hurt Ross.
Looks like this round answered many questions. This is the same Benny Ross from the Migliorato fight. He was dominate in round one, and a no show in round two. If Benny Ross's corner can turn things around he has a good shot here, but if he takes many more rounds off he will be KOed.
10-9 McNeeley
Round 3:
An "on" round for Benny Ross. He was the more active fighter in a very inactive round. He was the one throwing the lead punches, instead of waiting for McNeeley to come to him. Neither fighter really hurt the other one in this round, seems that McNeeley was paceing himself.
The on and off saga of Benny Ross continues as he brought his A game this round. He has shown he belongs in the ring with Tom McNeeley. McNeeley needs to pick up the pace, Benny Ross isn't a very good defensive fighter, if McNeeley can just wing punches, as he has in the past, he could be very effective in this fight.
10-9 Ross
Round 4:
Big round for McNeeley. He was really working combinations in on Ross. At one point I thought Ross may go down because of a huge uppercut. McNeeley also opened up a deep gash under Ross's right eye.
The story that is Benny Ross continues. He has a big round and takes the next one off.
10-9 McNeeley
Round 5:
Ross's gash was not closed between rounds, but it isn't really in a bad spot. It appears to be even with the bottom of his nose. This was a really back and forth round. Ross landed more shots[28 to 16] than McNeeley, however McNeeley's punches had more on them. Ross was really hurt toward the end of the round by a big hook.
Hard round to score here. Ross was more active, McNeeley was more accurate. I have to give the round to Ross, he was the aggressor and landed more shots. McNeeley really only got one good punch in, the others didn't have much on them[like Ross's punches].
10-9 Ross
Round 6:
Clear cut round for McNeeley. Ross was not active here. McNeeley connected with 37 shots and was only hit 6 times. Neither guy landed any power shots this round.
Ross continues to win a round, and take one off. Not sure what his thought process is at this point, he has had every chance to put this fight away. McNeeley has been the same about every round, not really wanting to throw the lead shots, but rather counter punch. Ross has come out one round throwing and not done anything[not even cover up] the next. I blame this on his corner man and pre-fight training.
10-9 McNeeley
*****Halfway through the fight my scorecard reads 57-57 even. While I have it even, I really wouldn't be too suprised if atleast one judge scored round 5 for McNeeley[or even].
Round 7:
Ross's cut was finally closed between the sixth and seventh rounds. The good news for Ross ends there, this was another big round for McNeeley. No longer is he content to counter punch, he was throwing and landing the lead punches here. Ross was never really hurt, but he was out-worked and out-punched.
Looks to me like Ross may finally be coming down to earth. The next round should be a good one to judge which Ross we will see the rest of the fight. Ross needs to bounce back, three straight bad rounds at this point in the fight would indicate that Ross has nothing left.
10-9 McNeeley
Round 8:
Great round eight. The two men combine to land 72 punches. McNeeley was throwing really good combinations while Benny Ross was counter punching. All of these shots landing and neither guy backed off the entire round. It was really a sight to behold in the ring. McNeeley seemed to get the better of Ross when all was said and done.
Ross tried to have a good comeback round here, however McNeeley was probably the best he's been in the entire fight. Despite the high number of punches landed by each fighter it's not a tough choice as to how to score it. This was clearly another one for McNeeley.
10-9 McNeeley
Round 9:
Very back and forth round. McNeeley has slowed down quite a bit compared to the last two rounds. Ross controlled this one for the most part. McNeeley has gone back to counter punching, which is a really bad strategy for him. McNeeley doesn't have much left on his punches.
Ross answers back here, but I still have him down 86-85 with just three rounds left.
10-9 Ross
Round 10:
Boring round. Both guys are gassed. McNeeley landed a few more shots than Benny Ross here, but punches weren't the story out there. Clinches were, and they were all over the place.
Not going to be a fun last two rounds to watch from an action standpoint. But thats not what I'm here for, I'm interested in the winner and Benny Ross has his back up against the wall. I got it scored 96-94 for McNeeley with just two rounds left. If you factor in the fact that some judges may have given round five to McNeeley that makes it 97-93 and puts it out of reach. It will be very hard for Benny, but on my scorecard he could still salvage a tie by taking the final two rounds.
10-9 McNeeley
Round 11:
Very back and forth round between the stalling. Neither guy was able to hurt the other and most of the punches were jabs, but they just answered each other punch for punch.
This is the round, along with the fifth, that will decide the fight. The round was just too even for me to score for either guy.
10-10 Even
*****My scorecard says Tom McNeeley leads the fight 106-104 heading into the final round.
Round 12:
Neither guy wanted to lose this last round. McNeeley came out fast, working combinations without much on them. Midway through the round Benny Ross almost took this out of the hands of the judges with a smashing cross that stunned McNeeley. McNeeley landed more clean punches, but Ross dominated the last half of the round, nearly ending it.
Hard round to score. I'm giving this one to Benny Ross on the heels of the cross. It was probably the best punch of the fight.
10-9 Ross
*****My final scorecard is 115-114 for Tom McNeeley, but I could see this going either way.
Winner:
The Judges have tallied their scorecards...
Massimo Barrovecchio scores the bout 116-113...
Carlos Colon has it 116-113...
John Rupert scored it 116-113...

Punch Stats
Benny Ross: 287/827 34.7%
Tom McNeeley: 339/738 45.9%
Last Thoughts:
The decision was not as close as I expected. They all gave the 5th to Benny Ross as I did and scored the 11th a tie. The big change came in the 12th, where all three judges watched a different round than I did and gave it to McNeeley. Hard to explain that, other than McNeeley landed more shots. I would have expected the fact that he was nearly knocked out and was on the defensive the last half would have allowed Benny Ross to carry it.
Benny Ross is now eliminated from the tournament.
Tom McNeeley awaits the winner of Sales-Courtney. If Sales wins the match-up will be a rematch from the first round in which McNeeley scored a unanimous decision victory. If Courtney wins it could be a very interesting fight. I'm not sure how to break that fight down, I would like to Courtney fight atleast one more time. I'm still undecided on his fighting ability.

Conditioning:
Sales has come into the ring in tip-top shape.
If appearance counts, Courtney should have the fight won before the opening bell. He looks to be in outstanding shape.
Round 1:
The first round goes according to script. Sales was really ineffective out there while Courtney really poured it on. Sales did land one good uppercut that MORE than proved he can hurt Courtney. Sales was also shaken that round by big cross from Courtney. I'm not sure what was more lopsided out there the punching stats[36-6 landed in favor of Courtney], or the actual action in the ring.
Sales loses the first round bigtime, but its no time to panic. He's never been a fast starter. If he loses the next two, then it may be time to panic. If he can take one of the first three he is right where he needs to be.
10-9 Courtney
Round 2:
The round started off very slowly with a total of 6 punches landing in the first half of the round. The second half started with a bang as Courtney displayed his power, landing a crushing hook to the head that sent Sales to the canvas. Sales was able to answer at a count of 3. Courtney moved in for the kill and scored with several punishing blows the remainder of the round. This was a very lopsided round for Courtney.
Sales slow start continues, but he may not get over this. The shot that caught Sales was a brutal loaded hook to the chin. After getting up he was caught with another hook that caused a delayed reaction. He nearly went down on that one too. Courtney is looking dominate out there.
10-8 Courtney
Round 3:
Another over-whelming round for Courtney. Sales is unable to get anything going out there, as Peter Courtney is completely throwing his game off. Courtney had the best punch of the round, a brutal cross.
I have to wonder how much longer Sales can continue, with the beating he has been getting. I said that if Sales could take one of the first three rounds he would have a chance, not only has he lost all of them, he was knocked down in the second. Peter Courtney has complete control of this fight.
10-9 Courtney
Round 4:
Sales comes back strong this round, landing several power shots and throwing alot of punches. Too bad, he landed such a low percentage of them. Peter Courtney stayed on the outside and controlled the round with his jab and combinations. While not "working" as hard as Sales he actually landed more punches. Neither fighter was really hurt by a single punch this round.
Sales comes back strong this round, but he's in there against a very talented fighter. Peter Courtney has really impressed me today by completely dominating a fighter I hold in very high regard.
10-9 Courtney
Round 5:
Sales was a little more effective in the fifth than he was in the fourth. Too bad for him Courtney was a whole lot more effective in the fifth than he was in the fourth. Courtney opened a cut over Sales' left eye with a jab. The blood made Sales come to life as the two traded blows for several minutes when Courtney landed a smashing cross that sent Sales backwards at the end of the round.
Sales has been more than happy to slug it out the last two rounds with Courtney, and that has me puzzled. It would be one thing if Sales was the more powerfull puncher, or the better defender, but neither has been true so far this fight. Sales has missed with most of his punches and Courtney has been rocking him when he returns fire. Sales needs to figure something out soon, because he is really in alot of trouble here. If Sales can't knock Courtney down, he would need to win every remaining round to win the fight.
10-9 Courtney
Round 6:
Peter Courtney dominates another round. He outlanded Sales 35-7 this round. Sales looks completely gassed, while Courtney looks like he could go 15 and still be fresh. Sales was hammered with a sweet uppercut as the round ended. He looked real bad going back to his corner. My guess is if the round hadn't ended he would have been on his back shortly.
10-9 Courtney
*****At the halfway point in the fight my scorecard says 60-53 in favor of Peter Courtney. None of these rounds have been close, so I really can't see one of the judges scoring this fight any different. In order to win this fight Sales would not only have to win all six rounds left in the fight but he would have to score a knockout along the way. I expect Sales to get desperate as the fight comes to an end. Peter Courtney will have to be carefull not to leave himself wide open to a huge punch. As long as he can avoid a one punch fluke knockout, Courtney has this one in the bag.
Round 7:
Horrible round. At the conclusion the crowd was on its feet with a chorus of boos. All Sales wanted to do was tie Courtney up. Neither guy landed many shots or hurt the other one out there.
Looks like Sales may have found a formula here for winning some rounds. All you have to do is throw some jabs and then wrap the other guy up before he can get any punches off. As the ref tries to break you guys up hold on with all you have....repeat....BRILLIANT.
10-9 Sales
Round 8:
Didn't think I would say this in the fight, but what a huge round for Sales. He came out with a look of desperation in his eyes and went for the KO. He really put the hurt to Courtney this round, hurting him atleast 4 different times. I'm actually suprised that Courtney was able to keep himself off the canvas.
If Sales continues to do what he did this round, not only will he win the remaining rounds, but he will probably end up knocking Courtney out. This fight is just starting to get interesting.
10-9 Sales
Round 9:
Very slow round. Peter Courtney came out in a defensive stance, not wanting to beaten again like in round eight. Sales refused to attack, and this led to him just getting pummeled from the outside by Courtney's jab. Toward the end of the round Courtney moved in and landed some great hooks to the body. Sales' corner still hasn't closed the cut over his left eye, I haven't been mentioning it because it hasn't come into play at all. Its not deep and is barely even bleeding. Its really a shocker to me that it hasn't been closed yet.
This round was just the nail in Sales' coffin. Sales is going to need a miracle at this point to win this fight. Counting this round my scorecard has Courtney up 88-82 with just three rounds remaining.
10-9 Courtney
Round 10:
As soon as the two guys walked to the middle of the ring Courtney caught Sales with a hook that landed under the rib cage. The force of the shot dropped Sales to his knees. He was able to stand up at the count of 5. His eyes had a very vacant look about them, but he was able to respond with a cross that opened a cut under Courtney's left eye. Before the round was over Courtney almost finished the job as he had Sales against the ropes and was pounding away.
Huge round for Courtney. I don't expect Sales to finish this fight.
10-8 Courtney
Round 11:
Huge round for both guys. A total of 82 punches find a target this round. Neither guy really hurt the other, but Sales left eye is really starting to look swollen. Courtney landed 51 of the 82 punches this round.
*****My scorecard has it 108-99 in favor of Peter Courtney
Round 12:
Peter Courtney finishes the fight strong with a huge round. After 12 rounds of fighting he actually looks like he could keep fighting. Sales looks like he was hit by a semi-truck. Prehaps someone should see if
10-9 Courtney
*****118-108 in favor of Peter Courtney is what my scorecard says. I can't possibly imagine Sales winning the decision. This is prehaps Peter Courtney's most impressive performance to date.
Winner:
The Judges have tallied their scorecards...
Roy Ovalle scores the bout 117-109...
Joe Garcia scores it 118-108...
John Stewart has it scored 118-108...
For your winner by unanimous decision...

Punch Stats
José González Sales: 185/540 34.3%
Peter Courtney: 344/642 53.6% [WOW]
Last Thoughts:
I had predicted Sales to win this fight, boy was I ever wrong. This is one of the most impressive displays I've ever seen. For a fighter to not only land 344 punches, but to connect with 53.6% of his punches over a 12 round fight is awesome. Peter Courtney may be the best pure boxer in the world.
José González Sales has been eliminated from the tournament. This is not the last time we will see him, but it is very sad to see him go. I had really grown into a huge fan of his. I can't wait to see him in fights once these tournaments are done.
Peter Courtney will move on to face Tom McNeeley. In order to win this tournament Peter Courtney will have to beat Tom McNeeley, avenge his loss to Wilson Kohlbrecher, and then beat Cleveland Williams twice in a row.

My Thoughts:
I believe that Peter Courtney is the best "pure boxer" in the world. He has everything that you need to be successfull in the ring, but Tom McNeeley is a tough match-up for him.
Tom McNeeley needs to prepare for this bout much better than he did against Benny Ross. If he treats this one as just another fight he's going to get knocked out. He needs to be active early and use his good chin to an advantage. Peter Courtney is going to hit him, and he's going to hit him hard. If McNeeley isn't ready this one could get ugly. Peter Courtney has knocked every fighter he's been in the ring with down atleast once. McNeeley has a very good chin, but it was exploited by Cleveland Williams.
Peter Courtney needs to jump out to an early lead. He can't allow McNeeley to win the early rounds like he allowed Kohlbrecher to. Some people might look at his loss and write him off, how quickly people forget just how close it was. He actually knocked Kohlbrecher down and nearly out. If Courtney fights like he did against Sales he's unbeatable, period, end of story.
My prediction would have to be Courtney. He's was just too good the last time I saw him. I predict Peter Courtney to win this bout by unanimous decision.

Conditioning:
McNeeley looks ready to go; he's obviously trained hard for this bout.
If appearance counts, Courtney should have the fight won before the opening bell. He looks to in outstanding shape.
Round 1:
Both fighters came out fast, ready to fight. McNeeley landed a higher percentage of his punches and really poured it on Peter Courtney here. Courtney fired off, but he was off his game the whole round.
Tom McNeeley appears to be back on form. He was really winging and landing punches all over the place. He could easily win this fight if he continues this strategy.
10-9 McNeeley
Round 2:
Courtney really came out this round intent on fighting his fight. He worked from the outside, and used the jab to set up his power shots. McNeeley tried to work his way to the inside but was kept at bay by the jab. At the end of the round, Courtney REALLY got on a role, landing two straight stong combinations, followed by a big uppercut and crushing cross. This was too much for McNeeley as he went down hard. He was able to get up at the count of 5, and thankfully for him, that was the end of the round.
This is the Peter Courtney we saw the last time he was in the ring. He's going to be hard to beat in this fight. For a small, quick boxer his power is the thing of legends.
10-8 Courtney
Round 3:
The first two minutes and thirty seconds of this round was won by Peter Courtney, although it was close. The last thirty seconds was all McNeeley, though. McNeeley worked his jab to the inside where he landed a big uppercut, a crushing hook square to the chin, and multiple hooks to the body.
Peter Courtney looked like he may box his way to another round, but Tom McNeeley really turned it up in the last thirty seconds to easily steal this round.
10-9 McNeeley
Round 4:
Pretty slow round. Peter Courtney was on the defensive after the way the last round landed. He waited for McNeeley to throw a punch and countered it. Pretty solid round for Courtney.
Peter Courtney puts on a defensive clinic. He has so many layers to his boxing skill. Tom McNeeley didn't change his game plan any this round, he was firing punches everywhere, but they were all blocked and countered.
10-9 Courtney
Round 5:
The fifth round was a big one for Courtney. He was darting in and out, and hitting hard. McNeeley couldn't get many shots to land. McNeeley is getting worn out by Courtney's hard punches, and that continued this round with several big uppercuts from the inside.
McNeeley isn't fast enough to keep up with Courtney, nor is he accurate enough to get through his defenses. Unless Courtney starts to slow down this could be a long afternoon for McNeeley.
10-9 Courtney
Round 6:
Bad round for McNeeley. He was knocked to the canvas very early in the round with a hook to the chin. He took an 8 count and was up, but it was very bad from there. Courtney really poured in on, hurting McNeeley several times. All McNeeley could do was grab Courtney and hold on. He was lucky to survive the round.
So much for McNeeley's good chin. That appears to have been a myth. Courtney has really been dominate tonight. He is really a force in the heavyweight division.
10-8 Courtney
*****I have it scored 58-54 for Courtney at the halfway point. Peter Courtney has been very impressive again tonight. As long as he doesn't get careless he should be able to coast to victory.
Round 7:
Courtney continues to throw his punches in combinations in this round. McNeeley was once again dropped to the canvas with several different blows to the head. You can't question his heart, because he was up by the count of 8. McNeeley was covering up the remaining part of the round, but couldn't keep everything out. Courtney is in complete control of this fight.
This is one of the all time mismatches. It's hard to understand why McNeeley's corner is allowing him to continue in this fight.
10-8 Courtney
Round 8:
Peter Courtney seems to just be coasting at this point. Tom McNeeley has nothing left, he attempted to fight back out there but was warned for intentional headbutting, and again for hitting with an open glove. Courtney, even coasting, was able to dominate this round from the outside with his jab.
10-9 Courtney
Round 9:
Same story as last round. Courtney was fighting from the outside, using his jab, and staying out of harms way..........and he was very effective again. McNeeley is trying to load up on some punches, but he has no chance of landing anything with Courtney's jab in his face.
This fight is pretty much over. McNeeley really isn't doing anything but catching jabs in his face.
10-9 Courtney
Round 10:
This is starting to get painfull to watch. McNeeley was caught with a huge hook to the side of the head that sent him to the canvas. Thats number four. McNeeley was up quick this time, at just a four count. Once he got up he caught a huge left, some big hooks, and some painfull body shots. The fight should have been stopped, but alas, the ref isn't doing his job.
Painfull to watch, all Courtney out there.
Round 11:
Another round for Courtney, as he was coasting once again out there. I look for the same strategy to come out in the last round as well.
10-9 Courtney
*****I got the score 108-97 for Peter Courtney heading into the last round. This isn't even a close fight at this point. Peter Courtney is once again putting on a boxing clinic in the ring.
Round 12:
Courtney didn't even try to end the fight here, he was in full blown cover up mode for the final round. As a result, McNeeley actually wins this one, without doing real work.
10-9 McNeeley
*****My final scorecard has it 117-107 for Peter Courtney. Just an awesome display for Peter Courtney. He is really on a roll in the ring.

Last Thoughts:
One of the more one sided fights we've seen. Peter Courtney has once again went into the ring and completely dominated. He has Wilson Kohlbrecher, and avenging his only loss ahead of him.
Tom McNeeley has now been eliminated from this tournament.
Peter Courtney now face Wilson Kohlbrecher in the finals of the losers bracket.

Conditioning:
Courtney enters the ring in perfect shape; he appears to be finely tuned for this fight.
If appearance counts, Kohlbrecher should have the fight won before the opening bell. He looks to be in outstanding shape.
Last Second Preview:
This is the rematch of what could be considered the fight of the year up to this point. If this one even comes close to the classic in which both men hit the canvas once, it should be great. The winner of this fight advances to the finals of this tournament against Cleveland Williams.
Wilson Kohlbrecher needs to enter the ring with confidence. He can't allow Courtney to jump out to an early lead. In the first fight, the beginning belonged to Kohlbrecher. He needs to come out fast, throw bunches of punches and hope he can hurt Courtney.
Peter Courtney enters the ring coming off his two best fights to date. He has become a complete fighter. He has a chance to avenge his only loss here and can't afford to let it slip away. In order to win this fight Peter Coutney needs to imploy his same old hit and run tactics. If he uses his jab to set up big power shots I'm not sure if anyone can defeat him. He also needs to play better defense than last time. Wilson Kohlbrecher showed he can hurt him with big punches. If he doesn't cover up better, Kohlbrecher will beat on him early and wear him down.
Round 1:
Round one of this fight starts out slowly. Both fighters are being very deliberate, in an attempt to not get caught with a huge shot. It's obvious they both have huge amounts of respect for each others power. The pace picks up about a minute in and they begin to trade punches back and forth. The last minute belongs to Courtney as he hammers away with strong combinations and uppercuts. Kohlbrecher was REALLY hurting at the end of this round. Courtney's jab took complete control of the round and set up his dominate last minute.
The fight starts off with a bang, and I really have to believe after seeing this round that we are in for a treat. It's very obvious that Peter Courtney has improved since the last fight, he power is really amazing. I wouldn't quite say he has the power of Cleveland Williams, but no one else I've seen can even compare.
10-9 Courtney
Round 2:
Very close round as Wilson Kohlbrecher was actually able to get inside of Courtney's gaurd and make his jab a non-factor. Courtney was able to land a couple of big shots, but wasn't comfortable fighting close quarters. Kohlbrecher takes the round based on his work the entire round. He showed he can still hurt Courtney, nearly taking him to the mat with a huge hook that brought the crowd to its feet.
Great back and forth round. This fight is living up to its billing so far. Great fight so far.
10-9 Kohlbrecher
Round 3:
Kohlbrecher really hurt Courtney this round. Courtney was nearly sent to the canvas with a huge uppercut mid-round. He was able to fight back and land some punches, but this one really wasn't that close.
Peter Courtney, in his wins, has been able to avoid getting hit and so far this fight he is taking a pounding. There is something about Wilson Kohlbrecher, he just gets right inside Courtney's jab and really works him. That's something that no one else has been able to do.
10-9 Kohlbrecher
Round 4:
Courtney comes back this round and looked much better than before, but he is still being forced to fight Wilson Kohlbrecher's fight. They both took an equal number of shots, but Courtney was a little more effective.
Peter Courtney comes back and ties the fight up, but he needs to fight his own fight. Kohlbrecher has taken his jab completely out of this fight, and it will cost Courtney in the long run.
10-9 Courtney
Round 5:
Wilson Kohlbrecher is really tired in the ring. He was unable to get inside this round and really had trouble getting any punches in. Peter Courtney survived the early onslaught, and is now able to fight from the outside. Kohlbrecher hasn't lost his power yet, as he landed a huge left hook at the end of the round.
Wilson Kohlbrecher doesn't have much left, but at this point in the last fight, when everyone had said Kohlbrecher was punched out, he dropped Courtney. I'm interested in seeing where the next round takes us.
10-9 Courtney
Round 6:
Very even round. Kohlbrecher was able to cut Courtney with a cross. The cut is under Courtney's eye and it is a huge one. I hope it doesn't play into the finish of this fight, but I'm not convinced it won't.
Kohlbrecher was a little more effective, but not by much. This is a very close fight. Kohlbrecher's early round onslaughts have really taken a toll on Courtney and he is really slowing down. This could come down to whoever has the most left in the last couple of rounds.
10-9 Kohlbrecher
*****My scorecard says 57-57 at the halfway point of this fight. It could go either way from here.
Round 7:
Courtney wasn't very good this round. Kohlbrecher was able to pound away on him. Courtney is losing his legs, and it's only the seventh round.
Courtney needs to re-group before this fight gets out of range. He doesn't look very good right now, the only other time he's taken a beating like this was in a losing effort in Courtney-Kohlbrecher I.
10-9 Kohlbrecher
Round 8:
Easy round for Courtney here as he has re-grouped pretty well. He was able to fight from the outside and work his way into bigger shots. The bad news for Courtney? He lost a point for backhanding.
Courtney should have tied the fight up, but instead he's still one point back on my card. Courtney looked better this round, but he needs to put things together again next round and tie this thing up.
9-9 Even
Round 9:
Very slow, but close round. Peter Courtney just didn't do enough work to claim this one. Kohlbrecher was a little more effective out there, but neither fighter was hurt this round.
The fight is slipping away from Courtney. I have him two rounds back with just three to go. He needs to pick the pace up, but he doesn't have his legs under him very well right now. His cut was finally closed before the start of this round, it didn't have much effect.
10-9 Kohlbrecher
Round 10:
Huge comeback round for Courtney. He really had Kohlbrecher rocking from the time the bell rang. Courtney seems to have his legs back, but it will still be hard for Courtney to win this fight. He will need to take the final two rounds.
10-9 Courtney
Round 11:
Peter Courtney is fighting a defense fight as if to protect a lead. On top of that the annoucner claims he has a big lead at this point. What fight are these guys watching? Courtney got some bad corner advice and it will probably lead to a loss in this fight.
10-9 Kohlbrecher
*****Heading into the last round I have Kohlbrecher up 105-103. The announcer and Courtney's corner man are giving everyone false advice that Courtney has this fight won. Courtney needs to come out looking for the KO, instead of fighting to protect a lead.
Round 12:
Courtney was still fighting defensive, but he really hurt Kohlbrecher. He had a chance to move in for the knockout but backed off. I can't believe he has this fight won, or that his corner is giving him this kind of advice.
10-9 Courtney
*****My final card has Kohlbrecher winning 114-113. The announcer proclaimed at the end of the fight, "Courtney seems to have done enough to win this fight." Maybe my scorecard is off, but I really don't think so. This will be an interesting, and controversal decision, either way it goes.
Winner:
Lizzy Thela scores the bout 114-113 for Wilson Kohlbrecher...
Richard Flaherty scores the bout 115-112 for Peter Courtney...
And Finally, Curtis Wilson scores the bout 114-113...
For your winner by split decision...

Last Thoughts:
What a decision. Much closer than I thought. I can't believe that the one judge actually scored it 115-112 for Peter Courtney. The judge's scorecards are all messed up. Lizzy Thela actually gave Kohlbrecher a 10-8 round in the 8th with the point reduction, despite the fact that Courtney dominated that round. Richard Flaherty gave the first 5 rounds to Courtney, while the last judge, Curtis Wilson had the fight as I did. The first two scorecards boggle the mind.
Peter Courtney's camp will play off the fact they got robbed I'm sure, but the fact remains he is out of the tournament. This has really developed into our first real rivalry of sorts. I'm not sure where they go from here, but I would say you can count on a rematch happening in the not too distant future.
Wilson Kohlbrecher wins this one, and despite the controversy I believe that he was the rightfull winner. He moves on to fight Cleveland Williams, a guy that knocked him out in the third round in their first meeting. Wilson has to defeat Cleveland twice in order to advance, Cleveland only has to win once.

"Rather than have a re-match with heavyweight boxer Cleveland Williams in the finals of the DBC Heavyweight Tournament boxer Wilson Kohlbrecher has decided to retire. This news has caught the boxing world by complete suprise, but he has decided not to subject himself to another match. He will return to his homeland of Germany where he plans on opening his own business."

The shocking retirement of Wilson Kohlbrecher just days before his fight with Cleveland Williams has sent shockwaves throughout the boxing world. If anyone had any questions about the punching power of Cleveland Williams this just re-inforces it. Cleveland Williams becomes the number one contender for the DBC Heavyweight Championship by default and will await the winner of the number two contendership tournament, to be held at the conclusion of the FOFC Heavyweight Championship tournament, which will begin shortly. The FOFC Heavyweight Championship tournament will crown their own number one contender.
