Well, actually, I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow. This one should be good, though:

The Kraft Nissan dealership on Mahan Drive in Tallahassee received a surprise shipment of about 12 pounds of marijuana today.

It was sent from Arizona via Federal Express, wrapped in plastic and cushioned by packing peanuts.

For more on this story, read tomorrow's Tallahassee Democrat.

Me too. Although I would have to do the right thing and call the police to turn in the ten pounds of Mary Jane.

Very clever. You can have your cake and eat it too, after all.

If you smoke two pounds of ganja, you can better believe you can have your cake and eat it too. You can probably also have about 40 cheeseburgers and listen to side one of Led Zepplin 2 for 18 hours.

Or so I've been told.

Actually, the joke's probably on all of us. The original shipment was probably 15 pounds.

Yeah, its hard to stuff 10 pounds of marijuana down your pants and not get caught... Or so I've been told.

OK, and now the real rest of the story this morning...

BTW, the title is what passes for witty writing on the Tallahassee Democrat staff, I assume. But hey, at least a local writer actually reported this story. That's a step up from the usual way things are done at this paper:

It's not a ham, but it could be smoked

The first thing Stan Smith said when he realized he'd opened a shipment of marijuana Wednesday: "That ain't my ham."

Smith, parts manager at Kraft Nissan in Tallahassee, had ordered a smoked ham he was going to share with co-workers at the Mahan Drive car dealership.

FedEx delivered a box Wednesday afternoon from "somewhere in Arizona," Smith said, addressed to "Cross Motorcars." He began opening it, thinking someone had just mistaken the dealership's name.

But the box was packed strangely - foam peanuts on top of a trash bag, around green plastic wrap, with wet paper towels underneath. And the towels had a strong odor, which he likened to some sort of perfume.

Inside was what Tallahassee police later weighed and tested as nearly 12 pounds of marijuana.

"It scared the hell out of me," Smith said.Investigators took the box, the pot and all the packing materials. Tallahassee police spokesman Mark Meadows said investigators will look into who sent the package and why.

FedEx doesn't X-ray packages or have them sniffed by dogs for drugs or explosives. "But we can easily track where any package was shipped from," company spokesman David Westrick said.

Ron Murray, Kraft Nissan's general manager, said the dealership will cooperate in any investigation.

"We were totally dumbfounded," he said. "We don't and won't tolerate it. We don't know where it came from, but we want to get to the bottom of this."

All this time I could have gone with Fed Ex instead of driving 3000 miles each month for delivery. Damn.

Subtle hint to that they want more business from the drug / terrorist business?
