This guy makes me want to vomit. He tries to come off as such an intellectual and so righteous.

Who's he? What's he do? What has he done? What does he create? Why the hell should we value his opinion?

Answer - NOTHING.

His world revolves around the lives of others. A vicarious existence such as his has to be pretty uninspiring.

He's a nobody.

Well, Dan Patrick certainly seems an arbitrary person at whom to direct your spleen ventilation.

Did he kick your dog or something?

A yank ? as opposed to what - a redneck ? That's the opposite term- right ?

A sudden vigorous pull; a jerk.

aha- I know the verb - just never heard someone referred to as a Yank, other than when someone means to say American, or "northener." :D

Actually, that's the noun definition. I was trying to make a play on words by referring a yank as a "jerk". A failed attempt at humor. :D

I like Mr Patrick, though I think his radio show has gone downhill since Dibs got the boot...

Why did Dibs get the boot? I thought he was gone on his honeymoon or something... of course now that I think about it, that would've been one long honeymoon.

It was either a contract dispute or Dibs left after his contract ran out to explore other opportunites.

Really i think Chris Berman is who you should be after.. he think's he's bigger then the game figuratively.. when in reality he's bigger then anyone in the game.. literally :)

Dibs hosts a show with Kevin Kennedy at 3pm weekdays on XM Radio's MLB channel.

I don't like Dan Patrick very much...but he's a hell of a lot better than the SS boys (Stuart Scott and Steven A Smith)

EDIT: I just realized that there's a THIRD SS that's worse than the other two: Sean Salisbury

Dibs' contract ran out, and was not renewed.

Steven A. Smith is getting a talk show in NY, I believe. I think Tony K. was talking about it yesterday.

On subject, I like Dan Patrick. I like all of the ESPN guys except Erik Kuselias.

This has no sign of the illiterate, confederatist, redneck rant that I was hoping for. :(

I cannot possibly disagree with this any more.

Patrick is unlikable and Dibble was a complete moron. The only thing good thing that I can say about the DP Show is that they were smart enough to dump Sean Salisbury when they were considering going to a 3-man show. Listening to Salisbury and Dibble talk about anything was enough to make me want to drive into oncoming traffic.

The sad thing about it is that, as bad as the show is, it's my best alternative here.

Still waiting to hear just what Dan Patrick did to warrant a thread? He was dead on yesterday about Barry Bonds and that was about the only big thing that he has recently talked about.

Not to start another Bonds thread ... but what was his take on Barry?

Dibs' contract ran out, and was not renewed.

That's what I heard as well. I think there was a thread about it here when it happened a few months ago...

I like the Mike and Mike show; it's light, goofy morning fare.

I really like the Herd. He actually talks about sports, and spanning the globe is very interesting.

DP is okay in moderation. I split time between him and Rush. When I get sick of one I listen to the other for awhile.

After DP I listen to Mike and the Mad Dog on the FAN/YES network.

I agree on Cowherd, he has a little "Dennis Miller shtick" in him that I can appreciate.

I used to like Mike and Mike a lot, but now there are way to many damn commercials. Todd Wright All Night is a good show. Gamenight can be ok sometimes....

Dibs was great, guess I have no reason to ever try to stay up and listen to DP anymore...
