Jeroen Schreurs and Wayne rooney were selected to the EPL Team of the Week.

Today the 5th round of the English FA cup was drawn. We will be playing either the MK Dons or Southampton depending upon who wins the rematch. Either way, it will be on our pitch.


Arsenal have splashed the cash to land 25 year old striker Vicenzo Di Giacomo for 35.5 million dollars from Inter.


Eric Djemba played well, but his Cameroon team was beat by Angola 1-0 in the African Nations Group B play.


Manchester City lost David Miller for 7 months as he suffered a fractured vertebrae in his back!

Wigan have signed El-Hadij Diouf from Leicester on a Bosman deal. He is a good veteran attacking midfielder.

Wigan has signed Toni Gonzalez from Oldham. He is a 30 year old veteran defensive midfielder/centreback. Both are quality signings.


Bologna has signed Diego Placente away from Newcastle. Placente is 34 and is starting to show his age, so this isn't too big of a loss for Newcastle.

Fulham has signed a good striker in Helder Postiga. They signed him away from Porto as a Bosman player. He will arrive on July 1, 2012.


We play Fulham today on their pitch. They are currently 17th in the EPL. They have a talented midfielder in Thomas Hitzlsperger. He is their second leading scorer, and their main assist man. Striker Imre Szabics leads the team with 10 goals. Milan Baros is also a good striker. Centreback Nyron Nosworthy leads the defense. Their keeper Michael Rensing has had a rough year.

Aston Villa have signed Leicester's attacking midfielder Thomas Hassing Skjaerbaek for 10 million dollars.


The day before the match against us coventry Boss, Paul Scholes, told Skysports.com that he was of the opionion that Manchester United are likely to win the EPL Title, particularly if they can continue their winning ways. He feels his side has its work cut out if they are going to come away with any points in our match.

Stewart Downing won EPL Player of the Month.

Adriano (of Manchester United) came in 2nd, and Arjen Robben of Chelsea came in 3rd.

Adriano has won the EPL Young Player of the Month! Charlie Wilson of Sunderland came in 2nd, and Frank Wolf of Arsenal came in 3rd.

I won EPL Manager of the Month for guiding our team to victory in all 4 of our league games. Jose Mourinho of Chelsea came in 2nd, and Tony Colbert of Liverpool came in 3rd.


With 13 games to go, we are 5 points ahead of Chelsea in the EPL. We are 15 points ahead of 3rd place Liverpool. We haven't allowed a goal in league play in our last 6 league games! Our 10 goals allowed is best in the league. Our 56 goals scored is also best in the league. Our plus 46 is best in the league. Chelsea is second best with plus 34.


Speaking of Chelsea, They have Freddy Adu playing attacking midfielder and he is doing well there. In 28 starts and 4 reserve appearances, he has 12 goals and 9 assists. His 12 goals are 2nd on the team, only behind Adriano. His 9 assists are 4th on the team.

Just curious, when does WC Qualification begin (and where is it being played in 2014?), and how does the US talent look?Hehe.. did a lot of playing while watching the Final Four in the background. I'm about to stop playing for tonight soon.

I'm not sure when the WC Qualification is going to begin, but I would guess sometime late in 2012 or early 2013. It is being played in China.

As far as the USA talent, Howard is still the best keeper. There is a young 23 year old keeper named Stephen Catanese who might be ready to start by the time the World Cup starts though.

The defense looks old, and they really need to have some more talent appear in the defensive pool soon. Jonathan Spector is the only good young defender.

The midfield is decent with DaMarcus Beasley still potentially having one more World Cup in him. He has become a very fast player and still has great speed at 29 years old. Landon Donovan is doing well at Atletico Madrid, and he should be good in the World Cup as well. Of course, Freddy Adu looks like a superstar and he is doing very well for Chelsea. So, they have some good talent, but I worry about their lack of youth.

However, Christopher Edwards is a 21 year old midfielder who is developing nicely and might be good enough to help out in the World Cup when it rolls around. His lack of foot speed worries me a bit though.

I'll be following the team closely when the time comes :)

I don't plan on leaving Manchester for any reason except when I'm fired.

However, I will risk earning their wrath a bit by managing a national team while managing for them. My two desired national managing jobs would be either the USA or England. I would consider other nations if I thought it might help my profile, and aid in getting one of those two jobs. However, I suspect if I do well in the Champions League, the EPL, and one other cup that a national job will be offered to me sooner rather than later.

Today we host Southampton in the 5th round of the FA Cup. Southampton is currently 11th in the EPL. Their most consistent player, midfielder Jorge Pina, is injured for this game. They have recently acquired right back Nicky Hunt who is playing well for them. Their keeper Simon Jentzsch is questionable. Ronnin Kieft is a powerful skilled striker. Danny Higginbotham leads the defense.

Shane Paul's agent has approached me for the fourth time this year. I haven't been mentioning it, but I've been approached by at least a dozen player's agents with video. Unfortunately, all of them are strikers, and I don't need any more strikers right now. I do have to admire Paul's persistence.

After further thought, I decide I'm going to take a chance, and start my 2nd team against Aston Villa on the road in the 1st leg of the 1st knockout round of the Champions League. I'm doing this because we have the League Cup Final 4 days later. I believe our team is good enough to play Aston Villa close without our stars, and I will make sure they are ready to go for the 2nd leg.

Peter Taylor was sacked by Fulham today.

Santi enjoyed his time at Wigan and is sad that he had to leave them. I'd sell him to them if they made a good offer.

Wes Brown injured his ankle in practice yesterday. He will be out for about 2 weeks.

Zdenek Grygera also suffered an injured ankle, but he is doubtful for the next 5 days. I'll need him to play.



Today we play at Aston Villa in the 1st leg of the 1st knockout round of the Champions League. Aston Villa is currently 4th in the EPL. They have a talented team. Left fullback Gareth Barry has played very well. Centreback Liam Ridgewell has been a defensive stalwart. Keeper Leo Franco has been difficult to score against. Right winger Mouran Meghni is a fast creative player who can be a big time assist man. Left winger Daniel Bierofka is also a very talented playmaker. Strikers Lue Moore and Roobie Keane are both talented, but Moore is unhappy and demanding to be traded. The team hasn't been playing him as a result. It will be interesting to see if he will play tonight. Ciprian Marica is their third striker and he isn't as good as Keane and Moore.

Since I've became maanager, the team has beat Aston Villa every time in a close game.

Derby has signed Joao Paulo away from Wigan on a Bosman deal.

Al Ittihad are offering me 1.2 million dollars for Santi. This is triple his listed "value" right now. He is a good young keeper, but I don't see the potential at the age of 21 for him to become a top EPL keeper.

His contract expires in 3 monhts, and while I was thinking about renewing it, I haven't yet. I decide to accept the deal. It will be interesting to see if he agrees to go.

Today we play Leicester in the English League Cup Final. Liverpool is the current holder of this competition, but there will be a new team taking over that. Leicester are currently 10th in the EPL. They are led by the strong dynamic scoring of Dean Ashton and Jafeth Asprilla who each have 15 goals. Their keeper, Paul Gallacher, is very good. Their left winger Piotr Trochowski is a talented playmaker. Edgar Barreto is playing well in the midfield as well. Jordan Stewart is a good left fullback. Centreback Martin Cranie has been playing well the last few weeks.


The match will be at Wembley.

Preston want to borrow Bob Wright, a 20 year old English striker with a great deal of potential on loan. I agree to let him go if he wants to do so.

Liverpool's striker Yakubu suffered a partially torn MCL and will miss the remainder of the season.


Stuart Downing has won the EPL Player of the Month award.


Brett Emerton of Blackburn came in 2nd, and Jonathan Douglas of southampton came in 3rd.

Today we host Sunderland in an EPL Match. They are currently 20th in the EPL. Outside of striker Marco Streller, the offense has been horrendous. Streller has 12 goals for the team. The defense isn't much better. Centreback Alberto Lopo is good, but the rest of the defensive line is not playing well. Their keeper, Luca Brunoni is good, but he is being overwhelmed by a high number of shots. Former Manchester United player, Gary Neville has been their most consistent player and they are using him at right wing more than right fullback.

Today we travel to play Arsenal in an EPL Game. Arsenal is 6th in the EPL. We are in 1st. We are 7 points ahead of Chelsea with 7 games to go. We are going to play our 2nd team today, because we have a Champions League Match in 3 days. Arsenal has no reason not to play their best guys. Their wingers, Jose Antonio Reyes and Salomon Kalou, are both playing superbly. Their strikers, Javier Saviola and Lukas Podolski each have 18 goals. Their offense is good, but the defense has been shoddy at times. Ashley Cole is 31 and is starting to slow down. Frank Wolf is a young defender and he still makes mistakes at times. Jospeh Yobo is a good centreback, but not great this year. MAnuel Almunia is having a bad season, and he has let in some soft goals. He is 34, and I would guess that he is coming to the end of the road as Arsenal's keeper in the next year or so.

Atletico de Madrid is led by the dynamic play of their striker Diego who has 17 goals. However, Diego is questionable for this game. They have a very good defense led by centrebacks Pablo and Marin Demichelis. Left winger Nicolae Mitea is having a good year. Their keeper Sebastian Saja has been world class. He will be tough to beat. Landon Donovan is also on this team. He has 15 starts, 2 relief appearances and he has 4 goals. It will be interesting to see if he plays today. They have a decent offense, but their defense is terrible. Kasper Lorentzen is a very good midfielder who sets up the offense. Striker Johan Elmander is the leading scorer with 10 goals. Striker Michael Chopra is also doing well. Their defense is led by Gary Doherty and Tom Huddlestone. Their keeper Gary Baker has had a very bad year. James Saunders hasn't done much better either.

Manchester City Boss, Richard Money, has told the press that he doesn't want Manchester United to win the EPL Title and he will do everything possible tomorrow to make sure his team wins and puts a dent in our title chances.

What the heck are they talking about. Duff is 33 and he is starting to show his age a bit, but he is still my fastest guy on the entire team. He has an 8.85 average form overall! He has an 8.73 average league form! I think these journalists are crazy.

Chelsea tied 20th placed Sunderland 1-1! I think us winning the title has taken the wind out of their sails. We play them in a meaningless EPL Match in 2 days. I'll give several guys who have not given much PT some time to play. Among those, I'll give Saha and van Nistelrooy one last chance to shine (although I think their skills are too eroded due to age.)

Depending upon how our finances are next season, I might splurge on Adu! I don't have many needs except for some more youth in the defensive line, but I need a striker if I can get Rooney to re-sign and Adu might fit the job nicely.

Today we travel to play Newcastle. They are 6th in the EPL. Andrea Abbate is becoming a star in goal for them. Left Winger Diomansy Kamara has played well for them. Centreback Per Kroldrup has played very well. Striker Ricardo Oliveira has been great for them with 22 goals. Jermaine Pennant has been mostly a sub as age has diminished his skills.

75 minute mark: Downing passes it to Fletcher outside the box.. he shoots.. hard shot.. it hits the crossbar.


Game over. 2-1 win for us. I'm glad we held on despite being down a man. Good match to have before the sure to be tough Champions League Final which is our next match in a little under 2 weeks.

Chelsea's Arjen Robben has won the English Player's Player of the Year! Jorge Pina of Southampton came in 2nd, and Steven Pienaar of Middlesbrough came in 3rd. I think Rooney and Downing were robbed.


Jamie Cook has won the English Player's Young Player of the Year Award. Jordi of Liverpool came in 2nd, and Sean Brady of Everton came in 3rd. I'm surprised Adriano didn't get any consideration.


I won Manager of the Year in the EPL. Jose Mourinho of Chelsea came in 2nd, and Tony Colbert of Liverpool came in 3rd.

Wayne Rooney just rejected the following contract: 200,000/week, 40k/goal, 20k/assist, 10% annual raise. He is looking determined to leave after his deal expires next year :(

If I can't sign him in the next 2 months, I will actively try to trade him (albeit reluctantly.)


Cristian Chivu injured his ankle in practice today and will miss 2 weeks which is the rest of the season. He has really thrived at left fullback, and I'm sure we'll miss him in our two final big matches.

Today we play Chelsea in the Champions League Final. This match is occuring at Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid. Chelsea has a top notch team. They are playing a 4-3-2-1 that is like a set of bowling pins. Their keeper, Petr Cech, is top notch. Their left back, Wayne Bridge, is world class. Their centrebacks, John Terry and Naldo, are very good. Glen Johnson is a good right back. John Hall is on the left in the midfield. He is a 20 year old kid who is developing into a star, but is still a bit raw. It is a very interesting choice to start him. Arhen Robben is in the middle of the pitch. He is a top notch player with great speed. Sanli tuncay is playing on the right side of this formation. He is a very fast player who can use either foot adroitly. Freddy Adu is the left attacking midfielder. Adu has become on of the best attacking midfielders in the world. Pablo Aimar is an old veteran who is still a top notch attacking midfielder. Finally, Adriano is in the box. He is a 30 year old striker with top notch speed. Great all around physical attributes, great mental attributes, great finishing. He is an astoundingly good striker who is 30 but plays like he is 25.


We are 6-4 favorites.

53 minute mark: Fletcher steals it at midfield.. passes it to Adriano.. he shoots from 20 yards out.. powerful curving shot.. it sails around the keeper.. into the upper right corner! GOAL!!!! 2-0! Adriano with a big strike!!!

67 minute mark: Cole shoots from 20 yards out.. Howard dives.. saves it.

68 minute mark: Robben takes it down the left side.. crosses it to the near post.. Cole heads it.. into the upper left corner.. GOAL. Still up 2-1.


71 minute mark: Stevanovic for Djemba and Schreurs on for Eagles.

75 minute mark: Terry with a long range shot from a corner kick.. it hits the crossbar.. and bounces off Tuncay.. into the net! GOAL. 2-2 tie. :(

Crap! Lucio fractured his wrist in practice today and he will miss approximately a month. Most importantly, he will miss tomorrow's match. Considering silvestre and Chivu are already hurt, this is a rough injury. Even worse is Ferdinand is banned for this match. Chivu is doubtful, but I'm going to need him to play.



Wayne Rooney has won the Champions League Best Player Award. Pinga of Inter came in 2nd, and Nicolae Mitae of Club Atletico de Madrid came in 3rd.


Chelsea's Adriano has won the Champions League Golden Boot Award. Marcelo Nicacio of Sport Lisboa e Benfica came in 2nd, and Wayne Rooney came in 3rd.

Today we play Tottenham in the English FA Cup Final. This match will be occuring at Wembley. Tottenham finished 4th in the EPL. They have a very good team. They are led by the top notch play of keeper Paul Robinson who continues to thrive at 32 years old. They have three dangerous strikers in Jermain Defoe, Carlton Cole, and Daniel Omoya Braaten. Sean Davis is a very good midfielder. Matthew Taylor is a versatile skilled player. Mbulelo Mabizela is their leading defender at centreback.

We are 4-5 favorites.

It's overcast with temperatures in the 60's.

I thought about playing the second team, but I expect my guys to overcome fatigue and play well this one last match. I'm putting my top guys out there.

Adriano is already tired, so I pull him off. I put Cahais on the pitch at centreback and slide Grygera to right back.

The World Cup Qualifiers have begun!

Tim Howard was magnificient for the USA with 9 saves against St. Kitts & Nevis. He helped them win 2-0. I guess the question is: Why did he have to face so many shots, and why didn't they score more?

Eric Djemba played well for Cameroon in their 4-0 win over Burkina Faso in the other World Cup Qualifying match involving my guys.

The USA Crushed St. Kitts & Nevis 8-0 in World Cup Qualifying play today. Howard didn't do much, but he didn't have to do much. Christopher Edwards had 2 goals for the USA. Freddy Adu had 2 goals and 2 assists. Landon Donovan had 2 goals. Conor Casey had a goal. Oguchialu Chilioke Onyewu also had a goal.

The match was played at the Rose Bowl and there were over 79,000 fans watching it.

Excellent! Ruud van Nistelrooy has offically become qualifed as a coach. He informs me that he will retire at the end of the season (is that in 3 days or the end of next season?) He informs me that he would like to become a coach here when his playing days are over. He is a fan favorite, and I will definitely offer him a coach contract now.

His agent informs me that he would like to be a player/coach for the next year. He would like 40,000/week to do this. The board is allowing me to pay up to 35,500/week. I offer this.

It is the end of the year.


Adriano has been voted the Player of the Year by the club's supporters!

We have received a new batch of U18 players. Dean Watkins is a 15 year old English left winger who already has good talent. He has amazing talent for his age. Hopefully, he develops on the U18 team during the next 2 to 3 years.


We have been given 24.5 million dollars for EPL TV Rights for the upcoming season.

We will play Tottenham in the English Community Shield on August 5, 2012.


Our profits were so good last year that dividends totalling 38 million dollars will be paid to Shareholders. I'm sure the supporters will be quite pleased!


The Board is delighted with my performance as manager this season. They expect us to repeat our success and win the EPL again in this upcoming year. They are giving me 47 million dollars in transfer funds to achieve this goal. In addition, I will be able to retain the majority of any funds that are raised from the sale of players.


Our average attendance of 75,485 fans this year was a new team record.


Stewart Downing's 9.02 average form in 34 appearances this past year was a new team record.



Ruud van Nistelrooy has signed the offered contract and has made it clear that this will be his last year as a player.

Kinda wish I could offer them to be that. :(Darn you are right. Ruud has a 1 in coaching outfielders and goalkeepers, but 20 in physiotherapy. 20 in determination and 16 in adaptability. Barthez at least became a 20 in coaching keepers when he became a coach. I'll still keep Ruud as a sentimental choice.

Oops. I waited until the next season had already officially started, so I can't do the statistical round-up that I usually do at the end of each year. I do know that Downing's average form of 9.12 in league play was the highest score in the league by a WIDE margin. Rooney was 2nd with an 8.42 average form. I really don't want to lose him. If I do, I think I'm going to make a play for Adu despite the steep price tag.



In any caase, time to start a new thread for the new season. I'll continue to periodically check this one over the next few days.
