I just hope that I don't go out and make an ass out of myself, or get hurt too badly.
I have this hope every morning when I wake up.

Well, first, hi everyone. Haven't posted in a while. Been lurking though, when I can. I'm pretty nervous today. Had an opportunity to sign up for the company softball team this last winter, and tonight is our first game. It's been about 15 years since I played softball. And I'm pitching tonight. Got my uniform, got my cup, got my bat, my new glove, and batting gloves. Dang, it's just like being in high school again. Very nervous, yet excited. I hope, I just hope that I don't go out and make an ass out of myself, or get hurt too badly. I suspect once I get on the field, it will be just focus on the task at hand and have fun. Wish me luck, please. :)

Will you be getting wasted before, during or after the game?

Good luck! And remember: when playing softball you can easily pull a groin, but its easiest if its your own. ;)

Dola-

Why impose a false choice on him?

The correct answer is: yes.

Please be sure to stretch before you play. I had a similar situation a couple of years ago, and while I thought I stretched properly, I totally pulled a hammy trying to beat out an infield single. The body just isn't as forgiving as you get older.

I would suggest throwing your first couple of pitches overhand. That will keep them guessing the rest of the game.

I suggest not taking his advice unless you love losing.

I suggest reading at higher than a 4th grade level to understand the idea of 'sarcasm'

I suggest not taking this advice, either. Sarcasm ruined my life.

Fixed that for ya. I also prefer "pitching" to "catching"

Don't worry about me taking his advice. I can hear him blasting the Dirty Dancing Havana Nights soundtrack from my porch.

The Rogers Racoons own you.

Wow. We really do live in a wireless world now! How's the connection out there?

He's probably hijacking the schools. I would think it would reach the dumpster.

Listen to this line............

2 innings pitched, gave up 12 runs (Although I think only about 8 were earned), and 0-3 at the plate. We lost 18-9

At least I didn't get hurt. But one thing is certain. I am old and slow. :(

All that matters is you play in the next one.
