Coaching a Dynasty

First off I want to say I really enjoy this game. I started a new dynasty recently and it is enjoyable, however, one thing really annoyes me.

It seems a really high number of underclassman leave for the NBA. There is nothing more frustrating then having a good young team and 3 of them leave for the NBA and then don't even get drafted!

Does anyone know if there is a patch for this. I have been thinking about getting TDCB, but is the same thing happens I am reluctant to make the purchase. Any thoughts

FBCB has given me the most longevity of any game I've ever played.

WRT your specific inquiry, I think it handles early departures pretty realistically.

Isn't a Coaching a Dynasty (CAD) an older version. Wasn't a new version called Tournament Dreams College Basketball released after CAD? That might fix some of the early departure issues.

CAD was a great game in its time, but I'd have to agree that FBCB has surpassed it.

Yeah, that issue is better in Tournament Dreams. I would recommend trying the demo and seeing what you think.

Another vote for trying FBCB. It's a really great game, my favorite text sim outside of FOF and CM/FM.

I thought TDCB was a decent game and I felt I got my money's worth out of it. But FBCB is one of my favorite text sims ever and one that I still go back and play. You can do a search and find tons of comparisons, but I think the majority here found FBCB to be a better game (not that TDCB was a bad game). You can really see this forum's preference just by visiting the Dynasty section where FBCB dynasties are still common, while I can only remember a handful of TDCB dynasties.

No, they are different games from a data structure standpoint.
