Not a terrible horror flick...more wierd than all that is if you go do a search for ronnie defeo (the murderer) him and his wife have a site and have a forum that theyre very heavily talkative on. That wierd's me out more then the movie did.

Have you seen the original? How was it in comparison? I thought the original was a little cheesy, and really didn't focus on the fact that people thought the Lutz's basically made up the story to get out of paying for the house.

this really had nothing to do with any conspiracies...it was simply day 1 to day 28 of what they probably said happened HOWEVER with some enormous leaps, Im sure. If youre looking for a documentary this aint it...but it was ok.

Nah, I'm not looking for a documentary. I'm just looking for a good movie. I guess the original was OK for its time, but it hasn't aged well at all. I figured they didn't touch much on the controversy, but figured I'd ask anyway.

I read the book many years ago. Their story was bogus. The orginal movie scared the willies out of me at 9. I watched again the other night and found it lame.

the wife and i checked out this movie. she was very scared, and my knuckles were white every so often.
it's silly that they slap on the "based on true events" tag line and actually expect you to believe that some of the imagery could possibly have happened. they sort of lost me towards the end with George Lutz meeting the "source" responsible for the paranormal activity.
monsters don't scare me, so in these instances for a movie like this to scare me it's more about what *isn't* shown that what is. once they showed you George finding that torture room in his house and meeting that main evil ghost - oh well.
it sucks to see a movie supposedly based on real life that makes you say "yeah right, like that really happened". i give the movie 6 out of 10 stars.

everything paranoral is fake, there are no such things, it is not real.
if a scientist can not explain it, it must not be real. scientists know everything, they are so super smart I wish I could be one.

I liked the first 1/3, the middle 1/3 was kinda meh, and the final 1/3 was just bad.
Original wins.

yeah, towards the end they forgot it was supposed to be based on "true" events, meaning things that had a likelihood of actually happening.
i like how when they dragged George to the boat, it was night, and by the time they got out of the boathouse (some 2-4 minutes laters), it was morning. gotta love Hollywood.

It's not that they cannot explain it, they can't find it.
A couple of posts up, people are speculating the whole story is made up.
But it should be treated as hard facts by scientist?
