The last day of the season also made significant impact on the other big NBA race: the quest for better lottery odds.

The Bobcats' defeat of the Pistons on Wednesday pushed them back into a tie with the Hornets for the second-best odds. The Bobcats would've had a 19.9 percent chance at the No. 1 pick with a loss on Wednesday. Instead, they slip to 17.7 percent.

The Jazz caught a break on Wednesday when the Blazers upset the Lakers. It looked like both teams would end the season with the same record and would have to split a 20.7 percent chance. With the Blazers win over the Lakers, the Jazz now an 11.9 percent chance at the No. 1 pick and the Blazers an 8.8 percent chance.

A few other draft situations were cleared up on Wednesday:

• The Sixers will send the No. 16 pick in the draft to the Raptors (via the Nets and Nuggets) to fufill terms from the Kenny Thomas trade in 2002.

• The Wizards will send either the 18th, 19th or 20th pick to the Nuggets (via Orlando) for the 2001 Brendan Haywood trade.

• The Bulls will send the No. 21 pick in the draft to the Suns to fulfill terms from last summer's trade that sent the Suns' 2004 pick (it ended up being Luol Deng) to Chicago. In retrospect, that turned out to be a pretty bad deal for Phoenix. The Suns loved Andre Igudodala, but didn't believe he'd be on the board and wanted instead to clear more cap space for the summer. In retrospect, they should've held onto the pick and taken either Iguodala or Deng.

• The Mavericks will send the No. 27 pick in the draft to the Jazz to fulfill terms of the Pavel Podkolzine trade during the 2004 draft.

• The Suns will send the No. 30 pick in the draft to the Knicks (via the Spurs) to fulfill terms of the Leandro Barbosa trade in 2003.

Here's a look at how the entire first round will play out:

1. Atlanta Hawks (25 percent chance of winning the lottery)
2. (tie) Charlotte Bobcats (17.7 percent chance)
2. (tie) New Orleans Hornets (17.7 percent chance)
4. Utah Jazz (11.9 percent chance)
5. Portland Trail Blazers (8.8 percent chance)
6. Milwaukee Bucks (6.3 percent chance)
7. (tie) New York Knicks (3.5 percent chance)
7. (tie) Toronto Raptors (3.5 percent chance)
9. (tie) Golden State Warriors (1.4 percent chance)
9. (tie) Los Angeles Lakers (1.4 percent chance)
11. Orlando Magic (0.8 percent chance)
12. Los Angeles Clippers (0.7 percent chance)
13. Charlotte Bobcats (via Cleveland) (0.6 percent chance)
14. Minnesota Timberwolves (0.5 percent chance)
15. New Jersey Nets
16. Toronto Raptors (via Philadelphia)
17. Indiana Pacers
18. (tie) Boston Celtics
18. (tie) Memphis Grizzlies
18. (tie) Denver Nuggets (via Washington)
21. Phoenix Suns (via Chicago)
22. Denver Nuggets

26. Detroit Pistons
27. Utah Jazz (via Dallas)
28. (tie) San Antonio Spurs

The league will hold a coin toss in the next few weeks to work out final draft position for teams that tied at the end of the season.
