No the curse is that they get injured. I do not think it happened last year, but before that there was a couple of years in a row that the cover player got injured.

Actually, they had a little bit on that on CSN today. It started with Eddie George who had the worst year of his career up until that point. Culpepper got injured, Faulk had one of his worst seasons ever, Vick was injured and didn't even play, Ray Lewis kind of broke the curse though his team missed the playoffs. Based on the every other season thing, I hope this isn't the injury year.

Or you could look at it this way... 100% of the black QB's (or QB's of any color for that matter) that have been on the cover suffered a season ending injury that year.

This is all since the 2000 game. Not sure of the previous history, or if that was the first season where they put a player on the cover.
