KFC is going back to Kentucky Fried Chicken. The most interesting quote is this:

The move, the chain's most aggressive yet in its roughly two years of trying to revitalize U.S. sales, is part of a broader plan to "move the brand into the future" by drawing on its Southern roots, the company said in a statement.

They're going to move the brand into the future by going back to the past?

Didn't they change to KFC to de-emphasize the fact that it's fried? Maybe they should just call it Kentucky FC, then start competing in the MLS.

I was under the impression that they changed to KFC because the product they were serving was such a far-away mutation from chicken, that it was going to be a case of 'false advertising' to call themselves Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Does Boston Market have fried chicken? Boston Market has great rotisserie chicken, but KFC isn't primarily competing against that.

What exactly does Boston Market have to do with Boston? I wasn't aware Boston was known for it's chicken.

In a way they are tho. I mean if you want fried chicken, they are competing against the likes of Popeye's, Bojangles and smaller non chain places, but if you want chicken in general, they are competition.

Boston Market always tasted kind of funny to me. Maybe that's because they actually use real food. Anyone else think ton Market food tastes a little weird?

Radio,

I think it tastes like a rip off. Why should I go to BM and pay $7 for a chicken that I can buy for $3 at the Supermarket. Oh cause you cook it for me? Please, that is what the woman is for.

Gotta love me some Boston Market. Although Chicken Out is pretty much similar and good as well, both beat KFC.

And here I thought that the reasoning behind going to KFC was this:

Kentucky = Image of confederate flag and white hoods not politically correct.
Fried = Unhealthy.
Chicken = Meat. (By not using the word "chicken," maybe some vegans would eat there!)

Hopefully this is an indication that they'll again start serving breasts that are sized appropriately to have come from a chicken.

Over the past few years, I've reached the conclusion that the name change was because it was really "Kentucky Fried Canary", 'cause ain't no chicken on earth got a breast as small as KFC's.

Who doesn't like big breasts.

KFC, we've got big breasts. You'd hit it.

Anyone ever tried Cluck-U chicken? It's a smaller chain in NJ, MD, and scattered other places. IMHO, best, most addicting chicken in the world.

Apparently you've never been to BM's Rostisserie Grill. It's like an upscale version of BM. Which means more expensive. Now, they do have some pretty nice menu items, and their salads are more than just lettuce and dressing, but they offer a rotisserie chicken dish with a fancy side item and salad for like $2 more than BM, and it's the exact same thing you'd get at BM, except you pay $10. But they do give you realy silverware and plates and table service, so I guess that's worth the money...

We used to have a Cluck-U at Arizona State University... may not have been the same franchise... does yours have the GlobalThermoNuclear Hot Wings that you have to sign a waiver for before you eat?

Kitchen Fresh Chicken was a stupid campaign. Go ahead and give me some high cholesterol, artery destroying piece of meat. Don't hide it. If it can't kill me, it's not worth eating.

Hey, I think I just discovered a new slogan.

If KFC really wants to help themselves out, they need to start taking credit cards. I rarely carry cash anymore, so even if I like KFC, I'm not going out of my way to get to an ATM (and if you've ever driven around downtown Chuck, you know how hard it is to park within 2 miles of an ATM). I just go across the street to Church's if I need chicken. Its greasier, isn't nearly as good, and the fries suck ass, but its just easier to get.
