As quick as I was to bitch - both about the Dodgers and about Ticketmaster - with the fiasco surrounding my ticket to the Dodger home opener, I think it only fair that I be just as quick to offer praise when they actually do something right.
I just bought two tickets for Tuesday's game, in the reserve level (one deck above my home opener seat). I give the majority of the props to the Dodgers, since they're having a "True Blue Tuesday" promotion this Tuesday, and May 3rd against the Washington Nationals.
The basics: Buy a seat in the reserve, top deck, or bleacher sections for just $2.
Now, where Ticketmaster earns *some* props is for not being remotely as insane about the fees being charged as they were the first time around (although that TicketFast shit is still a scam, but I digress). $0.75 convenience fee per seat, and a $1.65 total order processing charge. Basically, I still don't like 'em, but I'm not going to make some poor customer service schmuck's life miserable this time around.
Bought two tickets, one for me, one for my dad, and out the door for just over 7 bucks. I don't care how pissed off the home opener situation made me, getting to enjoy a live ballgame with my dad for $7 is gonna get the plastic out of my wallet every time.
Well played, Dodgers.
