When I was doing the morning show in Oklahoma City, one of my trademarks was a thing called "Feel Good Friday". People could email me with their stories of people that could use a pick me up, and after the show was over I'd drive around town delivering flowers and cookie bouquets to those I thought deserved them the most.
One day I received an email from a woman telling me about Bobby. Bobby was father to a two year old named Daniel. Daniel had been diagnosed with neuroblastoma (a form of cancer), and was having a really tough time dealing with the near-fatal prognosis. I took Bobby some cookies and talked to him. We kept in touch even after I left Oklahoma City, and his strength was awe-inspiring.
A couple of months ago Daniel died. It broke my heart to hear the news, but it was even more devastating when I learned yesterday that Bobby's daughter, who I believe is about 9 years old, has been diagnosed with Type IV Non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
I was just flattened by this news. I can't imagine losing one child, and then learning just a few months later that another might soon be gone as well.
If you're the praying type, I know Bobby and his family could sure use your prayers right now.
