Only 21 entrants. The David Pollack question was mine, my mistake. It seemed a good question and b/c of Oliegirl's love for the Bulldogs he was the one player I'd been following through all the mock drafts... it wasn't until a couple of days after i posted the IWS that I realized my mistake.

I am, however, very happy to report that no one who entered before the draft had perfect answers on the other 5 questions, so the winner would have been the same if we threw out that question.

That said, on to the results!

1. What was the greatest NFL highlight?

I expected the Immaculate Reception to be far and away an eliminator, but it wasn't even the winner by itself.

The Immaculate Reception - 8
The Catch (Montana to Clark) - 8

The others(1 each):
Bo Jackson runs through Brian Bosworth for a TD on MNF
Norwood misses a FG to end the Super Bowl
The Super bowl Trophy is named after Vince Lombardi
Joe Theisman breaks his leg
Randall Cunningham dives over the pylon for a touchdown(I don't know this one from its description...)

2. With what pick in the NFL Draft will Georgia DE David Pollack be selected?

an unintentional eliminator. Very disappointing, as a couple of bright people who answered before the draft were going on ESPN's mock and were in the lead early(but as mentioned, were off somewhere else anyway).

17th - 12
23rd - 3
18th - 2
17th - 2
10th - 1
5th - 1

3. If there could only be one fast food restaurant, which should it be?

McDonalds is a pretty well established answer to any fast food question.

McDonalds - 12
Taco Bell - 4
Wendy's - 2
Subway - 1
Chik Fil A - 1
Popeyes - 1

4. Who will win this year's World Series of Poker?

I liked this question this year, it seemed there was not an obvious answer that jumped out at me.

Chris Moneymaker - 5
Phil Helmuth - 5
Greg Raymer - 3
Daniel Negreanu - 1
Dan Harrington - 1
Vegas Vic - 1
Phil Ivey - 1
No One - 1
A Random Internet Qualifier - 1
Matt Damon - 1
Who Cares - 1

5. Which bad driving habit is most annoying?

Easily an eliminator.

Talking on a cell phone while driving - 14
Tailgating - 3
Not using Turn Signals - 1
Driving slowly in the left land - 1
Swerving - 1
Women Drivers (the exact text in the PM I got was "being a woman") - 1

6. Who will be the next baseball player to reach 500 home runs?

Another one where I thought the best answer wasn't obvious at all. I probably would have said Thome myself and would have done very poorly. In the end it was simply the guy who was closest who wasn't Fred McGriff who was the right way to go. Griffey and Sosa both have 500 already...

Jeff Bagwell - 11
Fred McGriff - 4
Ken Griffey Jr - 2
Sammy Sosa - 1
Ichiro - 1
Manny Ramirez - 1
Jim Thome - 1

How can you not consider Bo Jackson's run through Boz to be the greatest? There were two others that came to mind:

Marcus Allen's run (and reversal) during the Superbowl.
Earl Campbell's run through the Rams where his jersey gets ripped off.

McDonalds? Have you not seen Demolition Man?

I voted Dan Harrington for the poker one because he has made the final table two years in a row.

I doubt Bagwell even makes it to 500...

Hmm... I didn't play but when I read the question and considered the options, Bo Jackson's run through Boz didn't even register. It was a fun play and all, but given lameness of Boz's career, the breifness of Jackson's, and the fact it was in a pretty meaningless game makes the play sort of a fun, novelty play as opposed to a "great" one.

The Immaculate Reception was the first thing that jumped into my head.

The WSOP question was tough -- I ended up going with "the guy who won last time" after (foolishly) contemplating Harrington and Negreanu as being "reasonable answers" to the question. I didn't see "recent winner with memorable name" in the rearview mirror, with such obvious Stupid appeal. Serves me right - that busted me out of this one.

Bah, damn McDonald's.

Ah well, the Pollack question would have screwed me up anyways...

I dunnow. Stupid (me) just googled WSOP and picked last year's winner. Who in the hell is Moneymaker? Sounds like a good pseudonym for a poker player.

OTOH, I figured Stupid would know McGriff isn't getting back to the Majors, but the Bagwell/Thome debate is too difficult to call because Houston plays in a bandbox. At least Lou Gehrig didn't get any votes.

Lots of second place and third place finishes for me lately. Gotta break this slump.

Nobody went for the Motown Miracle, or whatever the called the kickoff return that got the Titans into the Super Bowl?

Actually, it did in my mind as well, but I try to repress those memories.

He qualified for the WSOP from pokerstars, the same online site that last years winner(Raymer) qualified from. His name is Chris Moneymaker, he was an accountant from Tennessee, he won it 2 years ago when the poker boom (espicially on TV) was just starting to really grow.

Your private message box is full. You can run the next IWS if you want. I will be real busy next week so I don't think I will have time to tally scores, and the person who actually does all the work should be the one who creates the contest. (Plus it will give me a chance to try and win back-to-back titles! :) )
