NFL Network

I had my doubts about how much football the NFL network could fill, but I like this network. Get all of NFL Europe, in-depth off-season draft and movement, and right now, got the Cardinals minicamp going on. They likely have alot of pre-season games? Also, possibility of moving the draft (once the ESPN deal runs out) and future regular season matchups to it?

To add, last year they had 20-25 pre-season games. Some were tape-delayed but some were also live. I dare say that most of my TV time is spent watching it.

I doubt regular-season games, at least for the next decade or so. But I think they said they are going to have almost every preseason game on there.

I wouldn't bet against it. They are interested in possibly Thrusday Night games, and I could see the league using its own network to do it.

Yeah, I think it may eventually happen, but like I said in my earlier post, not for a while. Keep in mind, the networks household penetration is MUCH lower than any other network that would be considered to carry NFL regular season games. I guess you could make the counter-argument that putting games on the network would cause more carriers to move the network off of a digital tier and onto basic service, but I still think they would be losing money on the deal.

I do imagine that, years from now, all the major leagues will have their own networks broadcasting a certain percentage of their league's games. NBA TV, for that matter, already does it.

Agreed. I find myself watching/TiVoing the NFL Network far more than any other channel on DirecTV. I need a hobby.

I am watching it right now. I TiVo'd the "Game of the Week" between the Lions and Giants last year. Good stuff. I have a couple of eps of NFL Total Access in the que as well. Total Access is best watched TiVo'd. Some good stuff, but mostly fluff. Playbook is more solid.

Agreed. "*anything but Lion's* cam" is typically fast-forwarded immediately. They rarely have anything interesting to say.

Well, some are pretty bad.....but I look at it this way, atleast it usually has something to do with football. :)

I love the channel. The only problem is that my wife was addicted to "Inside Jaguars Training Camp" last year, and ended up becoming a HUGE Jaguar fan because of it. She even made me Tivo Jag games (along with my normal Lion games), and rooted against the Lions in their game last season. :(

That's unfortunate. Though the show was pretty compelling, the parts I saw at least. Must have been tough to swallow that OT lost. Great play, Brock.

Oh yeah, and whatever you do, don't introduce the wife to Anxiety or take her anywhere near his office.

NFL Network is indeed great, but when you have to walk away from the T.V. get Sirius to have NFL Radio. It is every bit as good IMO. Sometimes you have to turn it off because it can get a bit repetitive, but surprisingly much less then Ithought it would.

Plus, when they get a player or coach on, and they say screw the commercials and go a good 20-30 minutes, sometimes even 40 minutes talking to a guy, it can be great. Edgerin James was a great interview a month ago or so, lasted forever it seemed.
