Player Holdouts in FOF

Has anyone looked at this in depth yet? Here's the scoop on what happened in my league. A player has been holding out since preseason, and its now week 3, so for about 8 weeks. He was asking for a 6 year, $90 million contract, and now after a few failed attempts of contracts in the $60 million range, signed a cap-out offer of 2 years for $4.18 million. Does this make any sense? I know some players routinely end their holdouts after not having any new contracts, we have had a few of those as well. But to hold out for 8 weeks and come back with such a small deal seems somewhat odd.

Well he was still in his rookie contract, with 2 years left, current year, and next season.

it's the same total value of a contract, since it was just capped out, but yeah, it was his rookie contract.

So he finally caved and is willing to play out the final 2 years until he can become a UFA. He has no leverage, tried and failed anyway, and has now come back to show people he's worth the money.

maybe one point worth noting is the season he is coming off of. his last year stats:

405-663 for 5,183 yards. 37 TD, 17 INT. 12-4 record. I would've thought that was good enough leverage, but I guess not according to the team management.

Nothing wrong with his team management. I will not give new contracts to guys with more than 1 year.
