I usually don't brag about anything in single player, but I've come across the best QB I have ever seen (statswise).

I was a few years into a career with the 49ers, when a surefire first round QB dropped to the top of the 3rd round (gotta love singleplayer). I didn't need a QB, but I couldn't resist.

He sat his first year and watched the team win the Super Bowl. Then an injury allowed him to start midway through his second year. The rest is history.

The weird thing is he kind of has Peyton Manning-itis. He is not so good in the playoffs. As a benched rookie we won it all, when he took over in his 2nd year we lost in the conference championship 3-0.

In his 3rd year, we won it all...and that's been it. Playoff losses in his 4th, 5th, and 6th years (though 2 were super bowl losses).

Anyway, without further ado, I present to you Thurman Alviz:

and his stats, so far:

Sorry it's so small, but I don't really have anywhere to host these things. If anyone wants to, I'll send along the screenshots.

For those who can't see, his career numbers so far:

1413/2105 (68.1%), 17,363 yds, 147 tds, 21 ints, 112.3 rating.

his season AVERAGE in 4 full seasons of starting:

318/465 (68.3%), 3923 yards, 33 tds, 5 ints.

awards:
2014: 1st team qb, OPOY, MVP, SB MVP
2015: 1st team qb, OPOY, MVP
2016: 1st team qb, OPOY, MVP
2017: 1st team qb, OPOY, MVP

The coach sets the gameplans.

I'll update this more as i continue my career.

Pass... I want a QB who can complete some medium length passes.

Here's a question.

He's low on mid-range passing, but 100 on 3rd down passing. What if their average length on 3rd down is 13 yards? Does he suddenly bump up to 100, or does his mid-range passing override that and make him suck?

Wow, the TD to INT ratio is outstanding.

I thought 3rd down passing was clutch?

I guess calling him out inspired Mr. Alviz. 14-2, and a super bowl win to boot.

This is where the image zoom extension for Firefox comes in really handy.

What did he look like as a rookie when he dropped to the 3rd round?

i dont have it saved, but i think he was about a 20/70. Now he's an 87/87. But he shouldve gone in the first round, no question.

In a MP draft, he'd have gone in the top 5. I don't think he really boomed.

dola, just to get it out of the way...my houserules in this career are fairly loose.

Can renegotiate whenever
No trades unless offered
Homegrown talent only (cannot have a player who has ever signed with another team)

7 years in the league and only 29 INT's. That is very impressive. Of course I love Brett Favre, so anything under 29 INT's in one year is great to me. :D

Update:

In 2019, the defending champs fell apart. Through no fault of Alviz, the team stumbled to an 8-8 record, and missed the playoffs.

In the off-season, Alviz got a shocker. His top 2 WR's retired on him (the main target was a whole other story. the 2nd half of his career coincided with Alviz, but he dominated for 14 years: 1,190 catches for 16,719 yards and 129 tds...averages out to 85 catches for 1,194 yards, 9 tds). How would he handle a new corp?

2020 was, statistically speaking, Alviz's worst season to date. However, the Niners won another super bowl. But for the first time in SIX years, the league had a new MVP.

2019: 1st team qb, MVP
2020: 2nd team qb

http://photos.friendster.com/photos/06/44/4554460/12081874413365l.jpg

to date, Alviz has has quarterbacked 7 full seasons. He has made the playoffs 6 times, the super bowl 5 times, and won 3 times.

And his rushing stats...I won't bother to post them, but he is good for an average of 69 carries for 308 yards (4.4 ypc) and 1 td a season.

Ho hum...another insane year. A super bowl loss prevents the threepeat and quadfecta of awards. at this point, it's also worth noting that the guy has NEVER been injured.

I really can't believe you didn't title this "Dean Who-uston?" or something along those lines. Maybe "Dean Who-ston?" is better.
It's like the New York Post running a picture of Cuba Gooding Jr. with a rabbit on page 6 and not using the caption "Show me the bunny." (That was on Conan a long time ago if it sounds familiar to anyone.)

I mean, in what fantasy world do the Bears have a good QB, let alone a stud? :D

thats a nice season there, CW. course, id still take my guy any day :)

i cant wait to see how Alviz's career stats end up. The only thing that can stop him is an injury or early retirement.

that said, it's been hard keeping this team together. especially the wr's. they sit for 2 years or so, then start, get 1200 yds and 10 tds, and then ask for a 20m bonus. so the turnover is just ridiculous at this point. and its getting harder and harder with every pick being the 31st or 32nd pick. but this is my favorite singleplayer career in a very long time. hope you guys dont mind the constant updates.
