For those that don't know there's F-1 racing on CBS right now!

I caught the race a little late (with 5 laps to go). It seems that the finish was a little closer than a usual F-1 race.

That was a blowout. The Ferrari bad-luck continues. Should make for a great season in the points races.

Ferrari and Toyota spend about $400 million a year on their two-car teams. Ferrari will be back, they struggled due to not having the new car back at the beginning of the year.

Dola...

I love F-1 back when it was on at 8/9 am back in the days of ESPN.

How many DNF's does Schummy have now? I know that he has DNF'ed most races this year but am unsure of the number.

Without looking, I'm going to guess he's got 3 DNF's.

He didn't DNF the last one I saw, the last couple of laps of that were an outstanding duel between Schumaker and the guy who won the race.

I didn't realize that F1 was moving to CBS so quickly, thought it wouldn't be til the start of next season.

How was the commentary? One of the best things about the Speed TV coverage was the commentary team, a couple of guys who'd actually worked for teams and knew what they were talking about. Full of good insight for me, a passing, but not huge, F1 fan. Did CBS keep it the same?

I think CBS had the option to show four races and they apparently decided to go sooner rather than later since the season is getting off to a more interesting start than we've had in quite a while.

I'm not one to complain about commentators. I do like Speed's team and it doesn't seem quite right without them. Heck, I started saying kerblammo when some code I'm testing blows up. My main issue is that what they say on CBS seems to be oriented towards an audience that isn't too familiar with F1. I can't really complain though, because I hope more people become interested and start watching on Speed.

Have you ever heard the ITV crew (British -Martin Brundle and James Allen). They are amazing, very insightful and I find, a lot less annoying than the guys from speedvision. I don't know if you guys would even get them, because we have them for our TSN broadcasts. I find them like good wine, once you've had it you just can't go back to the 5 dollar a bottle stuff.

I don't know the names of the guys on SPEED vision, but I love listening to them. I thought that CBS's coverage was pretty good and informative considering they had to work with another TV stations broadcast and just predict themselves what was going on. I think they did fine.

Is CBS picking up the rest of the slate for F-1? Why the sudden interest in F-1, and how is CBS ratings?

Anyone know if CBS will carry the crown jewel of the F1 circuit this weekend, Monaco?

Damn, I don't get Speed. Kinda curious decision why CBS wouldn't pick Monaco. It's awesome to watch, with all Casino, tunnel and the playground for the Rich and Famous.

I'm not completely sure what the reasoning was behind the races that CBS picked. They might have passed on Monaco, because the race is normally pretty shitty. They also passed on the US Grand Prix, which boggles my mind.

Having said that, in the coming years, I think there will be more F-1 on network television. The ratings have been extremely decent... with Imola winning it's time slot.

I agree that Monaco is a shitty race, no room to pass. It is def. a tough track though, but it is consider the crown jewel of the F1 series and one of the world's most famous races. I just love the setting of the track. Maybe CBS pass on the US GP for "blackout reasons"? I use to love F1, but I use to love the "romantic" era it had. Not really that anymore.

I've never seen a specialized livery in F1...

Stars Wars in F-1? Mix nerds with glamour?

It should be Ferrari who have the Evil Empire on their cars, but I guess they don't need the cash like Red Bull do.

I meant Stars War. Mix "nerds" with "glamour" (which is likely the most "glamorus" sport in the world").

All F-1 needs is a DW to make the broadcasting ''diversified.''
