All,
I've always been really curious as to what attributes affect player ratings when a position change is made. I'd like to put together a bulk list of raw data to analyze.
Here's a sample for a QB changing to a RB:

Would anyone
(a) be interested in this?
(b) like to contribute data?
Thanks!

I think it's interesting to analyze, i'm just not sure exactly how you are going to manipulate this data to get your conclusions?

What the hell are you talking about? I can't figure out what your study shows?
I have moved a couple of QB with good speed to the RB position for limited success. I base my move on the Scramble rating and the QBs 40 time, or the fact that they were listed on the "League's fastest man" page
I think a QB's speed & scramble ratings would make an interesting spreadsheet.

Here's the explanation:
Row 11 is the Actual and Potential before the change (i.e. while they were still QB)
Rows 12-16 are 5 attempts to change the same player from QB to RB and the actuals and potentials that resulted
Rows 17-22 are data summaries, minimum, maximum and average values and % deviation from the original values.
I want to put a large table together for every possible position switch. I'm working on the CB to SS switch right now.
As soon as I have that data I'll post.
What conclusions have I drawn? None so far. Every time I think I have it there are a couple of players that blow my theory out of the water.

A lot of this work has already been done. http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?t=26256 includes a spreadhseet with a ton of data on how well the game projects a player will do when switched to a new position. It doesn't have the actual data after the switch, but as you're seeing the random variation is only a few points.
