I just think your left arm is still a little miffed that you fell asleep on it while it was obviously looking for a little action.
On the serious side, I have no idea why this would occur.

Does it bleed when you try and eat it?

I remember when I woke up that day. My arm felt like it wasn't even there and it took a good 2 hrs for it to came "back to life". I have fallen asleep on my arms before where they went numb and all but never had it affect me a week later though. Maybe I compressed a nerve or something.

For reasons I can't explain, over the last year I've started sleeping with an arm folded under me. A few months ago I started having arm pain, felt like I'd tweaked a nerve. It went away on its own a few days later.

It sounds like you "pinched a nerve." Usually, that heals over time. However, I wouldn't recommend falling asleep on that arm if you can help it.

Does it have a "Best When Used Before" date stamped on it? Is it starting to smell bad?

What's the worst-case scenario if he does indeed sleep on it again?

Actually, I treated a drunk who continually fell asleep putting pressure on some nerves in his arm, and he developed permeant Wrist Drop and tingling down his arm.
I'm not implying that Maximus is a drunk ;) It's just the only clinical case of this I remember from my neurology rotation.

There is a nerve called the ulnar nerve that runs from your shoulder to your hand. A fairly common condition called ulnar nerve compression can happen from sleeping with your arms crossed or in a weird position. Usually it's not a big deal, I had it for a while where occasionally my little finger would tingle or go numb, apparently it's most commonly experienced in the morning after you wake up. It sounds pretty temporary in your case, if it continues for a while you can try to change your sleeping position with a brace, etc, or see a doctor about it.

This is a blessing for you. Now when you left arm is "asleep" it will be known as the stanger. I encourge you to use the stranger for pleasure! You will then sleep on your left arm everynight.

When I was at UTEP and didn't have a car I went grocery shopping and had to carry about six/eight bags full of crap across campus back my dorm. Not long after I left the store the plastic bag that was holding the milk (among other things) tore, and to keep it from falling apart I wrapped the plastic around the tip of my middle finger. But the time I got back to the dorm my finger was throbbing in pain and a very deep purple color. By the time it regained its normal color, it was dead numb. It took like four or five months before I regained full feeling in the tip of my middle finger...
Not that this story really has anything to do with your arm. :)

is it a tumor??
Last summer I frequently had a similar problem to my left arm. Moreover it was quite painfull during the day.
I was really worried about that; Then i notice that, because of sometimes i used to wear a bracelet (It wasn't tight at all) just under the elbow, probably it stressed too much some nerve...I simply stop wearing that and after few week my arm come back to "work" properly.

Funny I've been doing the same thing. I would lose circulation for an hour. A few weeks ago I woke up when the numbness got up to my shoulder. I got so scared. I had numbing pain for a fewq weeks but they eventually disappeared, once in a while it would get numb or become painful for a few minutes and disappear.

Scariest thing ever is when you fall asleep on your arm and when you wake up you can't feel it. I have freaked out on multiple occasions thinking I lost my arm when I was sleeping..

I sleep mostly on my sides. I'd say about 10% of the time I wake up and I'm on my stomach. Also, I fall asleep with the TV on every night, and usually I have the remote somewhere on my bed.
A few weeks ago I woke up in the middle of the night, on my stomach, with my left arm under the pillow. I realized that I was clutching what I thought to be the remote, as it ends up under my pillow on a pretty regular occassion. So I say to myself, "Lets get rid of this remote." And I'm pulling on it, and pulling, and I can't get the damn thing out from underneath my pillow. It was at this point that I realized I wasn't grabbing the remote, but rather my right arm. It had gone so numb from sleeping on it that I didn't realize I was trying to rip my own arm off.
Good times...

Not true, he could give himself "The Stranger".
