Oh me, oh my. What to do, what to do?

Introducing... Panther Studios. A renegade movie company owned by... me. I have in my bank-account, an unlimited amount of cash, and big brass balls the size of Newark. It's time to get dirty in the land of silicone and stars... Hollywood!

House Rules (to be edited as I see fit):

Each two months (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov) I will be making a movie based from "My Own Idea". This is so that we always have a fresh wheel of movies being released each year.

I will only release one movie per month.

Feel free to leave suggestions for movies and such! :)

The Oscar Committee gives us the cold shoulder, and don't even send out an invitation to me since I didn't even make a movie this year. Bastards. :)
Jennifer Lopez pitches me a movie. A Science Fiction novel about aliens from the sun. I politely decline and ask her to leave. :)
AoD, Robotech, Toy Soldiers and Guns of Honor are a couple of months away from being produced.
We put in Atomica, an action adventure set in the near future, and Holmes, a modern day adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes character.

Casting Sheets:

ROBOTECH
Science Fiction

Producer: Steven Spielberg (Minority Report)
Director: Steven Spielberg (Minority Report)

STARRING-Actor: Tom Welling (Smallville)
STARRING-Actress: Kiera Knightley (Pirates of the Carribean)
-
SUPPORTING-Actor: Thomas Jane (The Punisher)
SUPPORTING-Actor: Kip Pardue (Driven)
SUPPORTING-Actress: Lindsay Lohan (Freaky Friday)
SUPPORTING-Actress: Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Voyager)
-
CAMEO-Actor: Kevin Spacey (The Negotiator)
CAMEO-Actor: Dustin Hoffman (Hook)

Movie Premise: Set in 2062, Rick Hunter (Welling) joins the Robotech Defense Force in the urging of his cousin, Roy Fokker(Jane). A series of events unfold that lead him into the middle of a full-scale war between Earth and gigantic aliens led by a maniacal tyrant (Spacey) in a dispute over a spaceship, the SDF-1 captained by an old, but capable admiral (Hoffman). Rick and close friend, Max (Pardue) are now trapped between their duties to defend earth, Max's relationship with the enemy's best warrior Myria (Ryan), and Rick's budding romance between SDF-1 dispatch Lisa (Knightley) and former childhood sweetheart, now mega-popstar Lynn (Lohan).

Notes: There's only one director for this movie: It's Spielberg. I stuck with the cast I used in my previous diary, just so that I don't have to sweat hard re-casting. I always reject gross points for anyone involved in my movie, instead beefing up their salaries by 3 or 4 million. Spielberg got $10 Mil, his usual salary is about $8 mil. He's got Final Cut and Producer's rights as well. Spacey and Hoffman will have brief appearances as the respective leaders of their factions (the aliens and the SDF-1)

GUNS OF HONOR
Western

Producer: Avi Arad (X-Men)
Director: Quentin Tarentino (Kill Bill)

STARRING-Actor: Hugh Jackman (X-Men)
STARRING-Actor: Johnny Depp (Once Upon A Time In Mexico)
-
SUPPORTING-Actress: Jennifer Garner (Daredevil)
SUPPORTING-Actress: Eva Mendes (Once Upon A Time In Mexico)
SUPPORTING-Actor: Christopher Walken (The Rundown)
SUPPORTING-Actor: Donald Sutherland (Instinct)

Movie Premise: Two death-row criminals (Jackman, Depp) are pardoned separately by the Governor (Walken) given that they assasinate the Mayor (Sutherland) of a small town. They find themselves entangled in a deep conspiracy that claims the lives of their loved ones (Garner, Mendes), and are soon pitted against each other before going after the man who started it all.

Notes: Quentin Tarentino gets to direct this over-the-top, insanely budgeted Western. He also gets Final Cut and Casting Approval, to make sure he can steer the movie to whatever he wants. Morgan Freeman was rejected by Tarentino, who chose Sutherland to play the Mayor.

EIGHTEEN CANDLES
Suspense Thriller

Producer: Samuel R. Bottoms
Director: Christopher Nolan (Memento)

STARRING-Actress: Jessica Alba (Sin City)
-
SUPPORTING-Actor: Ray Liotta (Goodfellas)
SUPPORTING-Actress: Scarlett Johansson (Lost In Translation)

Movie Premise: Lisa (Alba) plans to celebrate her 18th birthday in New York with best friend Jane (Johansson), unbeknownst to her, she's the next target of an obsessed serial killer (Liotta)

Notes: Liotta makes the perfect psycho-killer, doesn't he? :)

Script Status:
Army Of Darkness: Hail To The King (Action Adventure/Comedy) - script polishing on-going ****
Robotech (Science Fiction) - Casting *****
Toy Soldiers (Drama) - script polishing on-going ****
Guns Of Honor (Western) - Casting *****

Tiddly Wink (Comedy) - rewriting on-going ***
Tropical Depression (Comedy) - rewriting on-going **
Atomica (Action Adventure) - rewriting on-going *

Notes:
With the three movies casted, I'll be writing up new scripts next month.

TOY SOLDIERS
Drama

Producer: Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind)
Director: Ridley Scott (Gladiator)

STARRING-Actor: Russell Crowe (Gladiator)
STARRING-Actress: Michelle Pfeiffer (I Am Sam)
-
SUPPORTING-Actor: Ewan McGregor (Star Wars)
SUPPORTING-Actor: Brian Cox (X2)
SUPPORTING-Actress: Kate Hudson (How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days)
SUPPORTING-Actress: Leelee Sobieski (Glass House)

Movie Premise: During the Vietnam War, a ranking officer in the Army (Crowe) is sent into a mission that would not see him return alive. We see flashbacks of his memories, of his father (Cox), his wife (Pfeiffer), his daughter (Sobieski), his friend (McGregor), and his mistress (Hudson). He contemplates on everything he has left behind for the sake of a war he did not want.

Notes: It's a massive reunion between Russell Crowe and his director from Gladiator, Ridley Scott, and his producer from A Beautiful Mind, Brian Grazer. Michael Bay and John Carpenter expressed interest in directing the movie as well. Dicaprio, Diesel and McGregor all wanted the lead part in this one.

Notes:
Toy Soldiers goes up for casting and pre-production. AoD is a bitch to rewrite. We added a new script, Omerta, not based on the novel by Mario Puzo, but a completely different mobster story.

Toy Soldiers looks like a really good movie. I'd go see that. :D Not to mention it was a great song too, as Martika sings it.

Nice job so far. I'm tempted to dust off my copy of HM now.

I'm very depressed that Robotech, with three babes, will never be released. What a cruel tease.
