Checkout the slideshow and tell me if the officer used too much force
To me, it appears he did a great job and shouldn't be suspended...

I don't know police procedure, but that looks like how it should be done. Why wouldn't you have your gun out when approaching a stolen vehicle? I'm surprised the cop actually went to the door and didn't just order the driver out of the car. As soon as the kid was on the ground, the cop put his gun away and put on the cuffs. Looks about right to me.

What the cop did to him was far less harsh then what the kids parents are gonna do to him.
he should've raped the kid with his nightstick

I saw this on cnn the next morning and they were sayin the cop might be in trouble as it appeared he threw some punches while the suspect was down.
I thought WTF I don't see anything that looks like punches.
As far as the stop it all looked legit to me. I only see some cops getting control of the situation as quickly as possible. When my son was 13 he was about 6'2" and 190 lbs and could give a grown man a hell of a fight it he wanted too.
Looking at this kid next to the cops he appears to be pretty good sized too so would be more of a threat than your average 13 yr old IMO. I would assume the
cop doesn't know this kid and has no idea what he is capable of. Also imagine if they had hestiated and the kid jumped out and ran only to get hit by a car.

Unless the officer was doing something to him while the kid was down, I don't see anything wrong. Pulled him out of the car and pushed him down. Big deal.

Mr Liberal here thinks the slideshow look like absolute perfect police-procedure.. if there were any punches thrown they sure aren't visible on that slideshow.

Nothing wrong unless it happened between the slides. That kid needed to get his ass kicked though.

Seeing how endangered people's lives, I would have liked to see him at least bleeding by the end of this. If he got a couple of quick jabs to the kidneys, I applaud it.

I didn't see anything wrong with that stop, either. It is possible the officers did something we didn't see, but much more likely his parents or defense lawyer are pulling something out of their butts.

*sigh*
If that's excessive force, then there really isn't any point to having cops at all.

excessive force would be if he had shot him through the windshield
anything short of that is not, imo, excessive
