Hey guys, just curious, do we have a timetable for keeper picks, draft, etc, for our keeper league? What's the plan, basically? :D Or do we come up with it now? I know that we can only keep one player from each position (or so I believe).

IIRC, we can't trade until after we decide who to keep. That means if you want to trade after the keepers, but before the draft, you can only trade either your 1 QB, 1 RB, or 1 WR. You can't trade one of your RB for a QB before keepers and then keep that QB, for example.

I think we should be able to make deals like that beforehand, but alas, I was voted down, IIRC.

There was a thread when the season was ending about that...I think our plan was to change that rule for future years, but since we hadn't agreed to that prior to this season, we weren't going to allow trades between now and the draft (and don't you know I wish that wasn't the case with Julius Jones, Bryan Westbrook, and LaDanian Tomlinson...)

FOXSports is offering free fantasy football, that looks like it can be customised. The good thing about FOX is that they offer an extended draft, with 8 hour limits and such....

Let's try to get all of the keeper in by the 17th. Also, I would like to talk about how to do the draft this year. Frankly, I don't have the time to do an online draft this year...not without help. So, alternatives are welcome.

At least there are three rounds less than we had to do last year. I still think it would be challenging to get all 12 people together online, but I wouldn't be against trying it. Also, the site also has an 'extended online draft' option we could potentially try, if we set it up far enough in advance.

But considering he's about as sturdy as Samuel L. Jackson in "Unbreakable" and will be competing with Mike and Roy for receptions (especially in the red zone), I just had to take Muhammed. I had no choice... :(

It's going to be hard to pick any of the Lions WR's this year, for the reason you stated. It will be interesting to see where they get picked. Muhammed should have a good year in Chicago, and was a much safer pick than Rogers.

Draft is set up.
Here are the specifics:

1. Starts on 8/8
2. There will be 13 rounds.
3. DO NOT draft players on the protected list. IF YOU DO, YOU LOSE THAT PICK. The incorrect pick will be made at the end of the draft. So, it's a good idea to keep an eye on the Keeper list. I will not do this for you. You have been warned.
4. Each person has 2 hours to pick.
5. BOTS are on, so if you can't pick, make sure you have a preference list set up the way you like it.
6. BOTS will run from 10 AM EST to 11 PM EST.


Good luck to all, and remember to AT LEAST set your preference list with about 10 guys in case you miss the draft. You will be emailed when it is your pick by the website, so if you need to update your address, I would take care of that soon.

I believe that everyone needs to release the players that they aren’t keeping. I won't be around Monday, so I went to set a draft list and it says the following...

The brown highlighted players are keepers. You may rank them as usual, however if they are still on a roster at the time of the draft these players will not be draftable.
All players who finished on a roster last year are brown, making them undraftable.

My understanding is that it will just skip those guys and go to the next "non-brown" player on your list. I must admit, having those keepers listed really clutters things up on the java screen. It is a pain in my ass.

If I recall, it's just your next highest ranked player. Which resulted in 4 QBs being selected in a row for one team... and this was early in the draft, so while teams were picking their 2nd RB or WR, this one team had their backup QB already... I'd like to avoid such a handicap. :)
