Anyone on these boards that goes to the UofM? I am trying to get some info, and a student could make that a heck of a lot easier!

I am part of a boardgaming group here in Memphis (mainly 25-35 yrs. old), and we were looking for some new blood. We figured there was a gaming club or sci-fi club on campus, and were trying to figure out how to get in contact with that group.

I am at Delta State, though.

Anyone in the area that is interested can join. We just figured UofM and CBU would be good areas to recruit because they are in town. We have two set in stone game days, one in Cordova, and the other just north of downtown (Pinch District).

We basically have a core group of about 12 people that come to most things, but we have over 90 people signed up on the site, the other 78 rarely go to anything.

Well, I would be interested. I can't drive up every day though while still down here. I am not sure if I am moving back to Memphis after I finish. It just depends.

I will talk to some guys I know at U of M and see if I can get any info for you.

What games do ya'll usually play?

A wide variety, but here is a list of some of the big ones:

Formula De (currently running a league of this)
Blood Bowl (in process of getting a league started)
Puerto Rico
Acquire
Bang!
Pit
Twilight Imperium
Wings of War: Famous Aces
Republic of Rome
Samurai Swords (aka Shogun)
Tigris & Euphrates

So we're a pretty eclectic bunch. Out the core group, we have 4 women and 8 guys (roughly). We also have a weekly Wednesday game night at my house in Cordova. We also have some guys in the group that play a lot of miniature games like Warhammer 40k and EPIC, etc.

My girlfriend and I would be interested in playing. We would become regulars if we move to Memphis. We mostly play more of the classics but are always open to new ideas.

Damn, someone could really interpret that line above into many different ways.
