View Full Version : My uterus and I.

Started having major pain last night. Knew fairly quickly it was the baby kicking my ribs. Went and saw the doc today, mainly to get my fat ass weighed, and she sent me over to get an ultrasound.

So, the baby is getting big and is taking up all the space in my uterus I guess. Fun.

Just sharing, no sympathy needed. It seems everyone has a baby story, this is my first.

Ok I got nothing. http://dynamic.gamespy.com/%7Efof/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Farrah: You have attempted to create a masterful parody thread. However, you fall short in one key area. This parody would have been much better if a man had posted it for obvious reasons. Even better if it was arles. Good job anyways though, since I know it was your first, you still made me smile :D

So like, does the kid project as a defensive lineman already then, since he's so big?

Ok, parady thread. I was about to jump up on my soapbox and preach about the risks involved in late-term ultrasounds (doctor proclaims that the baby is quite large even though ultrasound measurements can be off by at least 15%.. doctor recommends inducing before baby gets to big, not taking into account that the ultrasound measurement is not overly accurate and that both mom's pelvis and baby's head can change shape during the birth to provide lots of room.. induction fails because mom and baby were not ready to go into labor.. mom gets sliced open.. baby has trouble breathing due to being born too soon and not having the aid of contractions to get the fluid out of its longs.. baby spends a week in the NICU)

Here's a thread title I didn't expect to see at FOFC. Are we now Front Office Family Community? :p

A better example would be Species II. :D

Except for the last two bits, that's how our first daughter was born (she ended up 7 lb 12 oz, but tall, which threw off the ultrasound weights). Of course, the doctor also waited until the due date, and it appears now as if my wife would never end up delivering normally based on subsequent examinations. Our second was just born to a planned C-section, also on the due date with no signs my wife was anywhere close to getting ready to deliver, and he was a big boy (and had also turned breach in the last week).

MY first attempt at a parody thread didn't do too badly. Certainly room for improvement. The next one will be better. I didn't want to make fun of Cringer's pain, but when I read his thread title I actual thought it said 'uterus'. :)

Baby is about 4lbs, and we're still 6-7 weeks away, so its getting pretty crowded in there. And he is moving ALL THE TIME. Squirming is the best way to describe it - so I actually have thought about the movie Alien once in a while. Or the old TV series V - remember that show?

Oh, and last night I had a dream I gave birth to a shrimp cocktail. Crazy times.

Well, although I have two of the little bastards in me, for some reason the major pain has gone away for a while. I am waiting for a comeback though.
