"you could win a chance at a the first free ticket to outerspace"
I just don't understand.
Could win a chance
So, does this mean that they are NOT giving away tickets?
first free ticket to outerspace
Exactly what is this "free ticket". I know right now you can buy a ticket, but what nation out there is going to be giving away free tickets to outerspace?
Am I completely over thinking this, or is this pretty much an add gimick. Like there would ever be free tickets to outerspace. Hell, I don't even think you can get a free ticket to Orlando during Hurricane season without having to sit through a time-share presentation. :D

You drink 7-Up, and if you get a golden ticket lodged in your trachea and die, they shoot your ashes into space once you're dead?

I think they went with "could win a chance" instead of "will win a chance" because people will see "will win" and think it's an automatic win or something.
Also, I really doubt any country is sending the people into space. Isn't the Virgin guy going to start sending high payng customers into very low orbit for like an hour at a time?

What I want to know is how come, whenever rocket science and space travel get brought up, EVERYBODY assumes it'll be a virgin who makes it happen? Haven't we moved past the 1960's Clint Howard stereotype of the NASA geek who can't get laid?
Today's space engineers are a sensual and comely breed, who know how to treat a woman, and it's high time they got their due. Shame on you, Jeeber, for perpetuating stereotypes.

That's like the monkey's paw version of the contest.

I thought Russia was already doing this. Selling a seat on board their rockets to the highest bidder.
