NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) - How does 40 goats and 20 cows sound for Chelsea Clinton's hand in marriage? A Kenyan city councilman (Godwin Kipkemoi Chepkurgor) says he made former President Bill Clinton that offer five years ago. He's still awaiting for an answer. The councilman tells the East African Standard newspaper that he's vowed to remain single until gets word on marrying Chelsea. The African official promises a grand wedding for the first daughter. He adds the offer of goats and cows is a traditional African dowry.

Wow...it's not like Chelsea losing credibility for losing this match or anything. Not that I think they will. Just saying..

No, your right, but it still be pretty good if DC beat perheps the most, if not one, of talented team in the world.

I agree totally. I want DC to win. Seemingly the only club in MLS with any sort of sustained success.

Can someone explain why soccernet has it listed as DC United vs Real Salt Lake?

Hmm...has anyone heard about this MLS Reserve Division.
Interesting idea, I think.
I'd like it better if they just created a 2nd division though.

Never heard of it. It should just sign a partnership with the A-League. Great first half. DC United is putting in a hard effort, and Chelsea looks like they are getting into it.

So the MLS All Star game is the MLS All Stars vs Fullham? No east vs west?

Correct. Just MLS v. Fulham Probably better for TV. It's not like the casual fan knows who the teams are anyway.

I agree. And it didn't seem to drag on like MLS matches tend to.

And ESPN2 follows up by showing competitive eating.
It's a natural progression.

Actually, ESPN had it on during the game.

The second half was pretty boring... wonderful goal by Duff in the first half to open, and then some shoddy defense to allow Crespo past for goal #2. Should've been 1-1, really.
Chicago Fire played better than DC did against their World Class opponent. Chris Rolfe, fellow University of Dayton alum and son of my former employer, scores the only goal against AC Milan. I can honestly say having seen Rolfe play at UD that I am as surprised by his success in the MLS as most are.

Rolfe has really stepped up his game. I've been very impressed in the few games I have seen him in

MLS v a team who'll probably struggle in the English Premier (their manager, Chris Coleman, is early favorite to be first manager to lose his job this season) is a strange choice for an all-star game. It also seems to have been overshadowed now that they've announced Real Madrid will play an MLS Select on August 23rd in Madrid.
Real Madrid have apparently made $25mil from their pre-season visits to the US/China/Japan/Thialand. Not bad for a weeks worth. Got to wonder though if one weeks training then friendly matches in Chicago-Los Angeles-Beijing-Tokyo-Bangkok will have drained the players enough to affect their fitness through the season.
