I had heard that Cedric Benson was at the Bears practice Thursday night at Soilder Filed. Can any one here confirm this? If so, was he on the sidelines? I know he hasn't signed yet but like I said I had heard he was at the practice (not suited up of course). Thanks.

Suntimes reporting no movement on the contract, and no articles at all on the Trib.
Fucking Bears. Blow your top pick on your deepest position, and then be unable to sign him.

Benson being there on Thursday was strictly a PR move, I have no doubt. He hasn't signed yet, but Thursday was the annual Family Day Practice at Soldier Field or whatever they're calling it. Pay $5 and watch the guys practice for a couple of hours. Nice for the fans and all, but you know there were scouts there for every team the Bears will be playing this season. Me no like.

??
Packers have the same thing. I don't think there will really be anything earth shattering revealed at any practice or scrimmage.... most likely they are just scouting potential cuts..

Every team has open practices. Settle down.

*nods* It is very common knowledge that the Packers always have open practices, hell, their scrimmage tonight against the Bills is even going to be on NFL Network. THats awesome :)

DA BEARS!
I think 26,000+ payed $5 to see the Bears practice. Sounds like a gold mine if I were a Bears executive. Just wait till the Bears sweep the Pack this season.

The NFL rules are, that if the practice is free, Scouts don't have to be let it. The team can allow a scout to be there if they like, but most teams won't let them in. If a team charges for admission, then the scouts can be there as long as they pay admission like a fan.
